  1. Looking at the fixtures teams have the following meeting left Sheffield points so far 77 Home Edinburgh Home Ipswich Home Redcar (18th September) Away Berwick Away Newcastle (to Be confirmed) Maximum finishing points 94 Ipswich points so far 73 Away Glasgow Away Sheffield Maximum finishing points 81 Edinburgh points so far 64 Home Glasgow Away Sheffield Away Workington Maximum finishing points 75 Glasgow points so far 63 Home Ipswich Home Redcar Home Peterborough Away Edinburgh Away Workington ( 23rd September) Maximum finishing points 80 Redcar points so far 59 Away Glasgow Away Newcastle Away Sheffield ( 18th September) Maximum finishing points 71 There is a lot of meetings between the top 5, if the cut point is the 17th September it would be good idea to at least extend the date by one date to give all teams a chance to complete meetings.
  2. Cannot speak for who was there last night as I was not. But maybe another time next season if I get up to Redcar look you up and say hello?
  3. Well all good things have to come to an end sometimes and run of 13 winning meetings is a good run. Congratulations to Redcar on what looks to have been a hard fought win. (take note Cobra). Had a feeling that this might be the one that would get away from us, but really thought that going into the final 3rd of the meeting that we could maybe just hang on to win, but we faded and Redcar were stronger fair play to them. Pity that Redcar look as though could well miss out on Play Off place, would be nice to see them in the mix (have to stop this been nice I am from Sheffield). And finally a message for that Cheeky Cobra, if you come to Sheffield on Sunday come up to the benches on the first bend and say hello to group that I stand with, we will show you same good old hospitality that we show our many friends from Redcar that always stand with us.
  4. Sheffield have a double header on Sunday. £20 to buy on line. £20 on the day. £30 does seem a bit pricey, and I would imagine that any travel fans from Workington and Ipswich will have been put of by the price.
  5. Did Workington really pay £10K for Mason. You were robbed, and the Glasgow owners and Promotion must have been laugh all the way to the bank. The owners at Glasgow might be rich and pumping loads of money into the club, but I doubt that they would be that stupid to pay back the £10k they took buying back Mason. Rich yes Stupid not
  6. Good win for the Sheffield Tigers tonight. Glasgow Tigers badly let down by their heatleader trio with Summers been the pick of the the three. Usually when a big club of Glasgow's statue comes to Sheffield and keeps it tight for for the first 4 heats and then takes the lead I start to get nervous but tonight I was never concerned or worried and always felt that we could step it up a gear and get the win and sent Glasgow packing with nothing to show for their efforts. Always felt that Glasgow were hanging on and trying to get either a draw or a point out of the meeting. You can see that in the amount of race winners they had, two to be exact and both coming from the Guest for the night Mason Campton. Only Campton and young Jack Smith came out with any credit, and too a lesser extent Summers the rest were very poor especially Worrall who needs to find a new engine tuner if that the engine he was given especially for Sheffield. For Sheffield Josh G and Howarth lead by example. Lasse was fantastic in the latter parts of the meeting. Josh B showed that you can use the inside line to pass. Jan proving that he not only just a gater he can pass people as well. Georgie might have only score a point but that point was a very valuable point and he was never off the pace. The winning run continues and we now go onto a a very tough match at Glasgow on Saturday, could be that the run comes to an end, but this is a very good team that can dig when it needs to so maybe, just maybe we can keep that run going. Very proud of my team tonight.
  7. Reading the Speedway Star today, and the article about the Poultec Training scheme. I was fascinated to read that one of the latest students to sign up to the course was Birmingham/ Berwick rider Jack Parkinson Blackburn. I was not aware that he had signed for Berwick.
  8. Mixed scores this season at Sheffield from Mason. 4 rides 9 paid 11 in the first Workington meeting and in the most recent meeting 4 rides 2 paid 3.
  9. http://www.somersetrebels.co/news.php?extend.2083 Taken from the Somerset website. Lasse was unable to ride, not refuse to ride.
  10. Joking aside I still think that Glasgow are a quality side an I think are capable of going anywhere and getting a result. But they would really have to be on their A game, if they are we going to have a cracking meeting.
  11. Cannot see that happening Glasgow are the only team this season to come away from Sheffield with anything. I think that it will be a very close affair.
  12. Thanks for everyone clearing that up, must admit not read the link properly and hadn't realise that Jake Allen had returned from injury.
  13. Tricky one to answer I think the South Yorkshire Tigers have been around longer. But we did in the long distant past get rename the Sheffield Tars I leave you guessing the sex of the Promoter who thought that one up. But down to the fact that we have only every ridden at the one track and Glasgow went under the guise of Coatbridge for a number of years, I am claiming the South Yorkshire Tigers are the original.
  14. So we see the 2nd fixture of the Clash or the Tigers, and it should be a cracker of meeting. With the South Yorkshire Tigers defending a unbeaten home record, and Scottish Tigers coming South to try and not only win the match but go away with 4 points to keep in touch with the table topping South Yorkshire Tigers. Glasgow Tigers managed by the scowling Stewart Dickson who will lock horns with clean cut Simon Stead. Sheffield (1) Josh Scrabble man Grajczonek; Not only scores big on the scrabble board but around Sheffield can the Scottish Tigers fin a way to stop him. (2) Todd Mini Scrabble man Kurtz; Not so many point on the scrabble board, but has a habit of scoring some really important points around Sheffield. (3) Lasse Baby Bjerre; Hitting top form just at the right time and riding as well as Scrabble man at the moment. (4) Josh Barnsley Chop Bates; Glasgow fans love our little Josh, but beware guys he eats Glaswegians for breakfast. (5) Kyle Captain Fantastic Howarth; The man that leads the Mighty South Yorkshire Tigers, very dependable and better than Josh Auty. (6) Jan The Man Gravesen; Everyone needs a Jan, high scoring reserve and could be the difference in the two teams. (7) Georgie Boy Wood; Could well be our secret weapon, a little gem that fell into our laps reminds me of a certain Ricky Ashworth when he first burst into the team. The Glasgow riders will probably line up as follows; (1) Richie Interesting Worrall; The Steve Davis of British speedway (2) Danny Boy Bewley; The Cumbria Express fast regaining a reputation can the lad live up to it on the big occasion. (3) Richard Son of God Lawson; Looking at all of that hair and his facial hair he takes his nickname very serious, needs to be wearing his gating boots because he could not pass a fart. (4) Nike Hair Lunna; What will be the hairstyle this week, exciting unpredictable and has shown a liking for the air fence on the 1st and 2nd bends of Sheffield. (5) Aaron Rock Star Summers; Looks like the lead guitarist in Whitesnake, unpredictable around Sheffield could be a match winner or might just flop. (6) Tom Perry; Can ride Sheffield well, had some good ones had some poor ones which Perry will we see on Thursday. (7) Jack Smudger 2 Smith; Seems to have points tough to come by lately but he can ride Sheffield pretty well. So will it be another South Yorkshire Tigers win. Can the Scottish Tigers get anything from this match. Either way its a Tigers win.
  15. How does that work, thought you only allowed a Guest for number 1 rider Jake Allen is not Scunthorpe's number 1.
  16. Doing exceptionally well, but the moment me and my group that I stand with, said virtually in unison that we should get him signed up, and to be fair we should be thankful to the Berwick promotion for bringing him in as guest when they did because I don't think he would have come in for serious consideration before, but I think that we have had a little gem fall into our laps. The 3 rides I think is frustrating to fans and think it fair to say that we would all like to see him given his fair share of rides, as with every race he showing signs of improvement with every race, but the Team Management at Sheffield seem hellbent on been as ruthless at all times and are leaving nothing at chance to get the biggest win they can.
  17. that one hell of a corner he needs to turn. Because lets face it Josh has been going downhill for the last couple of seasons. This season seems to be even worse; Home average; 7.87 Away average; 5.96 Compare that to Kyle Howarth. Home average; 8.77 Away average; 8.29 That is the Championship averages The Premiership average Josh Auty Home Average; 5.55 Away Average; 4.00 Kyle Howarth Home Average; 7.02 Away Average; 6.76 Head to Head Kyle and Josh have face each other 14 times this season with the result of each. Josh beat Kyle 6 times. Kyle beat Josh 8 times. I think Josh has long way to go to catch up with Kyle at this present moment, and present is what I am more interested in but if you want how many British Under 21 titles did Josh ever win, because Kyle won it once, and the Queensland Under 21 title Josh won, Kyle has won twice. I will give you the the two British Under 15 titles Josh has to his name, Kyle never won any of them, but then again I don't think he ever competed in them. But that is in the past and the present and given the choice at the present I would choose Kyle over Josh Auty everytime.
  18. And how many times has he been on it the last couple of seasons. For me Auty needs to a leaf out of Kyle's book next season and move on and find new clubs in the Premiership and Championship, for me he is a comfort zone at Scunthorpe.
  19. Very good, are you sure you are not Ged Rathbone in disguise.
  20. Have to admire your faith in your riders. Ranks alongside Gavan believing that Glasgow and Ipswich were going to meet in the Play Off Final.
  21. Not the greatest meeting racing wise Have to say I am not a fan of speedway in the afternoon, much prefer to watch it in the evening. The Monarchs were very disappointing with only Wells, Pickering and to in the earlier heats Mark Riss. But as a team we are now very strong at home and for teams to come to Sheffield to get anything or to beat us over two legs I think that teams are going have to be at the top of their game, I think that we have peaked just at the right time. Can we go on to win the Play Offs? Really starting to believe that this could well be our year, although I believe that Glasgow have a slight edge over us at the moment, but that stretches the teams winning steak to 10 matches home and away and the team continues to grow in confidence.
