Maybe they would been using this one.

I think it is very apt, after reading some comments on the live updates site Kings Lynn fans are used to standing around.

Championship Predictions 2018
spin king replied to RedcarRacer's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Describe me a proper number 1. -
Not sure but I think she is Luke Chessell's girlfriend, she used to do second halves at Sheffield.
-
First off I don't feel that one rider makes a team, and I am confident that the rest of the team can provided the cover for that rider. Secondly I am confident that the Promotion if they thought that we did need to bring in a temporary replacement then they would. Thirdly the most important thing for me is that we qualify for the Play Offs, where we would be in with a chance of been crown Champions again, and you don't qualify for them at the end of April

Jesus Christ, is not about time people gave it a rest. The lad rides a speedway bike with no brakes for a living, I would imagine that at the time going for a bit of sledging with a few friends he thought was a little harmless fun, that went wrong. Last season he missed some meeting due to falling down the stairs carrying nappies for his son, are we going to ban him from doing that as well as sledging. They were both freak accidents, freak meaning they are unexpected and unusual, these sorts of things have happened before and will happen again to any rider. Or do we at the end of every season give riders a list of do's and don't while they are waiting for the season to start.
-
And he too is riding Poland next season which effectively rules him out.
-
I think if Bjerre fits then he is the best to take up the role.
-
The problem there is that Jorgensen has already stated he is riding Poland which rules out a Sunday track. Huckenbeck has already stated that he has no plans to ride in this country this season and I would think he is probably nailed on to be riding in Poland. The problem and the challenges that the Newcastle promotion is trying to find decent riders who are not riding in Poland, and been a Sunday track this going to be an ongoing problem for them. Why they have not signed Rose yet is beyond me unless the wage demands are not feasible.

Not good news at all, Speedway teams need all the help that they can get Good Luck to Edinburgh promotion in their quest to gain sponsorship.
-
Well I am happy that the fours has gone to Redcar. With a top four that consists of two former Bears riders, one being a former number 1, and the other two who have always gone well around Redcar, no I am more than happy with the choice of venue for the fours.

Championship Predictions 2018

Some fair comments there, and maybe I was been a tad bit harsh with my comments, but realistic I think. Last season Scunthorpe brought back lost of the riders that had failed the season before and it proved to be their downfall last season. Berwick have brought back Doolan, Howe, Gappmaier and Etheridge, all similar standard riders with one of those expected fill in a heatleader role. Really think that they would have been better going with just two of those four, three at the absolute most. The academy that they are setting up should be applauded, and it will be fascinating to see how young Leon Flint fares at Birmingham because if he fulfils his potential Berwick would do very well to get him on a contract and maybe sell him to one of the big Elite League teams for big money. -
And officially retired.

Championship Predictions 2018

Okay I will go with the following; (1) Lakeside; strong top 4 especially if they can get Newman going to something like his reputed potential, plus a technical track that a number of riders will have to ride before or for sometime I think will play into their favour. (2) Glasgow; the team has feel of a big money team, and looks like the promotion have splash the cash and spent it wisely, but I think they will finish just short again. (3) Ipswich; Strong looking side that will be pushing hard again, a lot will depend upon how the new German lad goes. (4) Sheffield; Providing we can keep everybody fit I cannot see any coming to Owlerton and getting anything with that in mind I expect us to make the Play Offs yet again. (5) Scunthorpe; A very strong team and I would have tipped them for the top 4, but there are a number of those riders that have a reputation picking up injuries. (6) Edinburgh; Not looking so promising for the Monarchs, but you can never rule them out so we may see them squeeze through to the Play Offs, but under their present guise I don't see them making it. (7) Workington; Solid team that will be hard to beat, but not unbeatable around their own track, will be interesting to see how young Bickley goes in his first season in the Championship. (8) Redcar; A lot will depend on how the newcomers in the team go, but always a bit of a gamble when have more than one rider coming in on assessed averages. (9) Peterborough; They really need Scott Nicholls, because if they are going to run the majority of their meetings on a Sunday they are going to have problems attracting big names to the club due to Poland. (10) Newcastle; Difficult to see where they are going with the team, but losing both Worrall and Lambert add to the fact that have run meetings on a Sunday means that they will struggle to attract big riders to the club. (11) Berwick; Not sure what is going through the minds of the Berwick promotion, finishing the bottom of the league last season keeping 4 out of the 7 of the bottom of the league team, replacing Nick Morris with Aaron Summers and bringing in an untried foreign rider on an assessed average spells disaster to me. Shame really as there is a loyal, vocal hard set of fans who deserve better. -
I hear Davey Watt is ready to make a comeback.
-
The fact that is billed as the National stadium. Is that not what most sports do have their finals at their National stadiums.
-
Inclined to agree with you. But at the end of the day the shared events has to make money and if the Redcar promotion fail to do so then the event will more than likely move back to Peterborough. Like after last season Glasgow took on the Riders Individual meeting it did not make enough money so they move it back to Sheffield.
-
On the surface does look a particularly strong team, but could be a side with some potential, and it maybe next season when they really kick on. Barker did look last season to be getting something like his best and can fulfil and strong number 1 role. The younger Andersen brother is rated the better of the brothers in Denmark, and personally I rate older one so he has the potential to get some points in for the team. The young Aussie has been doing well in Oz will be interesting to see how he progresses. Not too sure about Kus very inconsistent and never seems to do much if he does not gate. The other two Pijper and Busch are what they are and will do a job for the team. Probably more mid table team rather than play off contenders but next season with a nucleus of riders who mount a serious challenge.

Scunthorpe Scorpions 2018
spin king replied to IronScorpion's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Surely you would want to face us with a full team with no injured riders out. -
I would definitely keep the Bates/Bjerre combo together at home at least as I think they were the most successful pairing towards the end of last season. Wright showed how well he can ride Sheffield at the Pairs until he crashed out.
-
Can Kyle fulfil the number role, I think he can. He seems to thrive on the pressure and responsibility, he did every heat 13 when fit and did his fair share of heat 15's especially away where he probably did them all, and his away form last season was a revelation. If you look at Kyle's home and away averages they very similar for me he is one of the best all round riders in the league. Lasse, is as good as any rider around Sheffield, maybe needs to make some improvements on some of the away tracks, but he is capable. Todd surprise me last season fully expected him to show his best form away from Sheffield, as he in past had not done too well around Sheffield. But it turned out to be the complete opposite and his away form was very patchy whereas his home form was really good, in saying that he did on few occasions and important win away from home that turned a match around. People bang on about what is the way to build a title winning team, strong heatleader trio, strength in depth, strong reserves. None of this matters to win the title you need Stay clear of injuries (luck) Have rider or two that put a point or two no their starting average. More importantly win all of your home matches. Last season their was only one team that won all of their home meetings. That team topped the league and went on to win the Play Off Final.
-
Like the Canadian Mounties we finally got our man, and the team is now complete. Maybe not as strong as some of the other teams on paper, but it is not very often you see teams win back to back titles so its always going to be a massive ask for any team that we put together, and a lot depend upon everyone maintaining their fitness. Kyle Howarth can further kick start career, it was an amazing step up from Kyle last season. Lasse Bjerre and Sheffield are tailor made for each other (Thank God Richard Lawson went back on agreement with the club) Charles Wright will continue his steady progress my only worry is injuries with Charles. Todd Kurtz is a steady influence in the middle order just needs to pick up on his away form. Josh Bates is a far better rider than he is given credit for and I would not be surprised to see him pushing for a heatleader role. James Shanes is a signing that really excites me, I think he can put serious numbers on his average can really push to get out of the reserve berth. Jack Smith has seen most of the tracks and will have a bit more experience under his belt. Not going to make any wild predictions but cautiously optimistic for the season coming.

Rightly so as well. Kyle never refused to ride for to ride for the Comets, simply stated his preference was Sheffield. Also cannot blame Worky as it is no secret that they have been strapped for cash and a transfer fee hefty or not would have been a big help to them. We sat tight and played the waiting game and looks like we could be announcing any time soon that Kyle will be back at the club for next season. End of the day, Kyle gets to ride for the club that is his personal preference. Worky pocket two loan fees. And Sheffield get their man for next season. Everyones a winner.
