  1. Have to agree with you, and those that are running the sport should take notice that the likes of Paulco becomes cynical. Over recent years there has been so much happened in the sport that has been unexplained or simple skulduggery, and no proper answer given as to how or why decisions have been made, that even a die in the wool fans of not just their team but speedway in general start ask questions or are sceptical.
  2. Lets face it Glasgow were always going to bring in Kyle Bickley either now or sometime very very early in the season. And who can blame them we are all in it to win it, and if you feel you can improve the team then you going to do it. The timing of it is questionable and the reasoning for it. I throw this in to a possible reasoning for it. If Glasgow sack the rider for misconduct rather than dropping the rider maybe the loan fee than releasing the rider maybe they can get the loan fee that they would have had to pay to Sheffield for the rider would be refunded. I would love to see the riders contracts at Glasgow, because if the vaping story is true then wonder how long the contracts are would be very interesting to see.
  3. With a start time of Sunday's 4.30 pm as opposed to Thursdays 7.30 pm I don't think that school holidays really matter.
  4. Saw him at Sheffield this season in the Top Gun meeting, where the standard was around the reserve/ lower second string standard for this season's Championship. Was a bit wild but very entertaining his ride in heat 19 showed this, takes the lead drift wide into the fence. looking like he was going to come of, but somehow catapulted off the fence and shot back into the lead and won the race. To give you an idea Kyle Bickerley rode the meeting and scored 6 failed to make the Semi Final or Final. Josh scored 10 and went out in the Semi Final.
  5. I will go with Sheffield Somerset Eastbourne Leicester Dark Horses Redcar As people have mentioned at Sheffield we have Drew Kemp on a 2 point average, whereas in truth but for one meeting he is really a 4.5 rider, on top of that we have Kasper Andersen on a assessed 5.20 average whereas he is maybe one or two meetings away from been a 6 point rider., both Andersen and Kemp are false averages and gives a more than potential 3,5 advantage over the other teams. Eastbourne might have decent reserves at home, but with American Broc Nichol either starting or moving quickly down to reserve we have a rider that can adapt very quickly to a small technical track as he is used to riding those types of tracks in the States, he proved that last season when he cope more than adequately at Lakeside.
  6. Reasonably solid Newcastle side, and one or two names in that team who would not think of Newcastle type riders Of the last two riders. Not surprised to see Phillips name down on the team sheet with his old man one of the promoters at the club and he did a decent job when he was last there. Bjerre, good rider and kind be spectacular on his day, but is someone who is very difficult to manage and can be at times disruptive, if you can get him in the right fame of mind and happy he is capable of beating anyone, if not then you have problems and he will let you know.
  7. Okay to explain further. the club obviously feel that Kyle has the potential to put more on his starting average than Charles.
  8. Fixed race nights for both leagues means that should not happen. Injuries is a different matter.
  9. My guess is the CLRC to be staged at Scunthorpe.
  10. http://www.swindon-speedway.com/news.php?extend.3023
  11. Points limit. Building a speedway team is like building a jigsaw puzzle, the pieces have to fit. Putting Charles Wright instead of Kyle would have meant we would have been over the limit, so we would have had to make further changes. Plus last season in the past, next season is the future.
  12. So it was Redcar that gazumped Somerset.
  13. I am sure that I have read that Jenkins has ruled himself out of Championship racing to concentrate on his studies.
  14. Like Charlie boy I too live near Ty, I walk to the stadium every meeting takes me 25 to 30 minutes to get to the stadium. Ty literally lives on the doorstep, anybody who was given the opportunity to cut down such a drastic amount their travel to their job for the same money or around the same money would jump at the chance to do it. Ty also in the interview was at pains to thank the Promotion and fans for the opportunity and support that he had been given at Workington, and if wasn't down to long commute which now does not have to face he would have more than likely stayed with the Comets.
  15. So we now put down our calculators and the Tigers class of 2109 has been named. And I have to say that I very impressed as to what the team that the promotion has chosen, and i am confident that we have a team that has the potential to bring on some silverware for next season. Danny King should be if he is fully over his injury problems ( he assure's he is) be a very solid number 1 in this league. Kyle Howarth is a far better rider than his average and should be more than capable of improving on his starting average. Ty Proctor again should be able to make improvements, our main problem with Ty is keeping him fit. Kasper Andersen, for me one of the aces in the pack, we saw enough of him last season to suggest that on 5.20 he is a steal of an average, and I would not mind betting that if he had not signed for Sheffield there would have been a host of clubs ready to fit him in their teams. Broc Nichol show some promise last season, with a full season ahead of him should move forward plenty of experience within the Sheffield pits to give him some advice. Zaine Kennedy, bit of a unknown quantity, but again he has plenty of experience in the pits to help him along. Drew Kemp. a rider that due to change in points limit I think every club in Championship when Ipswich announce that they were moving up a league would have put into their side given what he has already achieved and done in his short career. Personally I am really looking forward to watching him develop over the season. Roll on April.
  16. Riders ride in number of leagues in a number of countries. As a young and up and coming rider you should aspire to ride against the best opposition. And the best opposition you can race against is out in Poland, at this moment. Young Drew has the potential to go very far in the sport and by the looks of it his ambition matches this, it should not be knocked and I am pleased that he has chosen to ride for our team to try and move his career along. .
  17. Read the article. http://www.workingtoncomets.co/news/article.asp?id=101047
  18. Well deserved first signing and one should have been for the Comets. Staying behind and ricking his chances of a visa shows commitment for a club and richly deserves to be name the first name on the team sheet.
  19. I would be very surprised to see Lawson at Sheffield for 2019, after the shenanigan's last season when agreeing to come and then signing for Lakeside, I think that feeling will still be a bit raw, add to the fact that his average is pretty high I think he may struggle to find a Championship place at all. And on a personally note I don't really fancy having in the team as he does not entertain me a bit of a gating tart for me. Schlein is a maybe, did read somewhere that this is to be his last season in racing, maybe he fancies returning where it all started with the Prowlers, but somehow I get the feeling that he is not totally comfortable with the Sheffield track. Of the three Danny King would be my choice, quality rider who can race a bit and of the three for me suits what Sheffield are looking for rather that the other two.
  20. Well Done to the Sheffield Promotion, for quality signing in Drew Kemp, and a name that would have been on most Championship teams shopping list. Also admire the riders ambition to sign for a big track club and get to learn a type of track that he will not be used to, looks like the Simon Stead factor has swayed the lad and what he can learn from Steady. Will be interesting to see who the two riders are to be announced a week on Wednesday, but so far so good.
