Belle Vue -V Sheffield POSFs
spin king replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Advantage Belle Vue for me at the moment. But we have come back from bigger more in the past. I thought the first half of the meeting was very gate and go, but the racing came alive in the second half of the meeting. As for Jack Holder not shaking hands after the race, who cares. This sport not love island. Personally I don't give a damn. -

Sheffield vs Ipswich 2024 Cup Final Sept 2nd
spin king replied to ShanoXtra's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Firstly Well Done to the patched up Ipswich team, on putting on good fight, the earlier part of the meeting they gave us a bit of squeaky bum time. It will be interesting to see if Emil comes back for the Play Offs and if he is then it gives them some hope in the Play Offs. But for us its another piece of silverware, and we have been pretty successful in the 4 seasons we join the Premiership. 2021 Play Off Semi Finalist (4th in the league) 2022 Play Off Finalist and KO Cup winners (1st in the league) 2023 Play Off winners and KO Cup runners up. (3rd in the league) 2024 KO Cup winners and Play Off Semi Finalist (1st in the league) Not bad record to have. -

As the home team you can set your track up to suit your own riders and unsettle the opposition. You totally entitled. -
Sheffield vs Ipswich 2024 Cup Final Sept 2nd
spin king replied to ShanoXtra's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think everybody acknowledges that prior to the injuries to Emil and Jason they were possible on course to make the final and quite probably win it. But as pointed out they lost not only the best rider in the league but the second best, its not fair but neither is life and at the end of the day you have to take knocks when they come around. Personally I would love to beat an Ipswich at full strength but it just not possible, but suggest that fans from Sheffield, Belle Vue and Leicester should not celebrate winning the Play offs is wrong and unfair. -

Kings Lynn v Sheffield 29/8/24
spin king replied to Manifesto's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
A win at Kings Lynn would have given us the top spot in the league. But on present form its looking as though Leicester will now finish top., as you would think that they will win both meetings against Kings Lynn and achieve the bonus point. So it is looking as the Play Off Semi Finals will be. Leicester v Ipswich Sheffield v Belle Vue -
Ipswich v Belle Vue August 22nd
spin king replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
But for injuries Ipswich I reckon would have finished top of the league and won the play offs. Losing Jason Doyle is a massive loss, for me in the UK irreplaceable, in the UK I think he the best rider. I don't think that any rider in the world could do what Jason does in the UK. Then losing Emil is a further hammer blow, to lose both Jason and Emil effectively turns their season upside down. Some say that they should have got replacements in but I don't think it is that easy, although we are slowly getting a better class of rider riding in the UK, but a large amount of decent riders still don't view the UK worth coming over to ride. -
Ipswich vs Sheffield 19/8/24
spin king replied to Fozzie4388's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
In answer to you quote about us predicting 10 point Witches win (I did). My reasons were (1) Sheffield away form has been poor. (2) Our form at Foxhall has been poor. (3) Holder brothers allegedly hate Foxhall. (4) Our reserves are far weaker than Ipswich. (5) Yes Ipswich were without Emil and Doyley, but they did bring in Dan Bewley fresh off a Grand Prix win. (6) Looking at the Ipswich team (Emil and Doyley been the exception), there is a big difference between the riders home and away average, which suggests that they have a team that is particularly good home form. Yes on paper we should have won, but speedway meetings are not won on paper, if they were we would have won at Oxford (1st meeting) and Kings Lynn. But I am more than happy that we won the meeting, but not daft enough to know that we would have lost if Emil and Doyley had been in the Ipswich team. Ipswich have been really unlucky this season, to lose 2 quality riders in Emil and Doyley has killed their season. -

Would to love to see us win tomorrow. But our away form has been poor overall, and Foxhall has not been a happy hunting ground for us. Ipswich to win by 10 and get the bonus point and go back to the top of the league. -
Sheffield v Ipswich 8th August
spin king replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Fair play to you if you have posted best wishes to Emil on other forums. And Thank you finally for pointing out that some not all Sheffield fans can be unpleasant. I do feel sometimes that generalise to much. We have some fans I am not going to deny it, and never have done who cannot behave themselves , but generally most are fine, trouble is that people always remember the bad ones rather than the better ones. As for Emil once again lets hope the injuries have not finished his season, he has been and hopefully in the future an excellent addition to our league. -

Absolutely agree it looked like he missed Bomber legs by millimetres. Like I said in previous posts not the way you want to win a meeting. -

Best Wishes to Emil hope the injury is not to serious. Not the way you want to win a meeting, and Ipswich were definitely the better team, we were and have been far to inconsistent all season. I don't see us getting any further than the Play Off Semi's this season, and if Emil is missing then I don't see Ipswich either with no Emil and Doyley. -

I disagree works at home. Heat 1; Howarth Heat 2; Pickering Heat 8; Holder (Jack) Heat 9: Holder (Chris) Brought us 9 points last week, and you I think it should bring us the same again. -
More than a possibility, but Tai is an adrenalin junkie, so I think he will carry on for another few seasons. I do that he is on a wind down in his career, and I think that he will maybe ride UK and Poland 2nd or 3rd tier, and of course I think we all know that his GP career is over.

My guess is season over.

At the time of the Matousek incident I was not attending speedway, so I cannot comment on it, whether or not it was purposely set out to hurt Nagy. But Matousek did have a reputation and general consensus seems to be he meant it, maybe not as bad as what actually happened. There will always be the odd rider that will go over the top, but more often than not it is not intentional.
-
Not seen the accident and I don't have any desire to. But I find it hard to believe that any rider would go out of their way to deliberately injure another rider and serious one at that. It is said that Tate and Keynan are close friends, so it is even harder to believe it was deliberate. As I have already posted best wishes to Tate, lets hope he makes a full recovery from what appears to be a nasty crash. Also lets hope that this does not have an effect on Keynan mentally as I am sure he will be upset that a friend has suffered and injury.

Best Wishes to Tate and hope he is well soon.
