  1. I seem to remember that around this time Shawn Moran was a Godden works rider, as was Simon Wigg at the time.
  2. I think the BSPA needs to grasp the nettle about this one, these boys need all the encouragement they can get and the competition, I have to agree that the Under 15 title has been shabbily run, and anybody who has not seen an Under 15 meeting needs to go and have a look as it is very entertaining. If we are serious about having a British World Champion then we have to nuture these boys, because given the right backing and encouragement I see no reason why one cannot come from these bunch of talented youngsters. But if we don't then we are never going to achieve that goal, somebody has mentioned Michael Lee, to be honest at first I scoffed at the idea, but Michael has seen and done it all, and see all the pitfalls and fell into a few, and I think that he would be good. I remember a few seasons ago we had I think what they called the Training academy, where top youngsters were taken and given advice from looking after there bike, looking at workshops like Sudden Sam workshop and getting valueable advice, but thisd seems to have died a death, like I say the BSPA need to grasp the nettle.
  3. Have to agree I would like to see someone else involved instead of Peter Oakes, I feel that teh guy has too many fingers in anyone pie that cannot possibly have enough time to do the job justice.
  4. Suggest you get yourself of to the electical shop your stylus is stuck.
  5. Must admit that my forecast was not very good, but Ihave forgiven Andre after last night performance against Kings Lynn.
  6. I don't think that it is, I would be hard pressed to make a connection with him and Scunthorpe, the only National league club he rode for was Newcastle.
  7. No I don't think so, Brett had bright red hair.
  8. Will somebody please put me out f my misery and tell me who number 1 is, he is wearing a Sheffield body colour but I have not got a clue who it is.
  9. Right here we go; (1) Not sure who that is but should. (2) Nicky Allott father of Adam. (3) Stephen Collins youngest of the Collins clan. (4) Rob Hollingworth. (5) Peter Mcnamara (6) Arthur Browning (7) Steve Finch (8) Don't know have a guess at Mike Wilding. (9) Craig Pendlebury (10) Andy Hines (11) Keith Evans (12) Paul Evitts (13) No idea, again guess at Kevin Teager (14) Nigel Crabtree. Well Scunny Stag how did I do.
  10. Like Dean I was born in 1964, so I never got too see the Great Peter Craven, but my Dad used to tell me all about him, and somewhere in there house they have a photo of Peter. Great article Ron and one that throughly enjoyed reading.
  11. That does not wear with me, there were alot of Sheffield fans who went down to support him, so if that was the reason then he has gone the wrong way about it. To be honest, only Andre knows the true answer.
  12. Already congratulated James on another thread, but what hell Well Done again James. Must admit I had nail my colours to another young man Aussie Chris Holder, and it nice to see that for once us Brits got the better of the Aussie's. I would urge the Comet fans to enjoy James while they can as the boy looks cetain to move on to greater things, and move up to the Elite League, but remember that the guy did it in Comet colours and won for you just as much himself. Have to say that I am bitterly disappointed with our man Andre, did not do himself justice in this meeting, like another Sheffield supporter said you have to question his comitment to this kind of event. As for the rest where did that performance from Rempla come from, honestly at Sheffield this season he looked like a complete novice, Jason Lyons looked as though he was sharp, and did Jason King not make the meeting at all.
  13. How did Chris Schramm become the meeting's reserve.
  14. I will go along with Chris Holder, as for an outside bet I would go for Tai Woffenden or Lee Complin.
  15. Looking at the Line up no Shane Parker or Craig Watson for Glasgow, are they both injuried.
  16. Like I say big fast track will suit Andre Compton, I can see him been up there on the rostrum, I can also see Lee Complin providing he is okay after his knock at Sheffield on Thursday. I feel the rider who they all have to beat will be Chris Holder, he is the the top dog in this league, and cannot see anyone beating him, but you never know. Another rider that I feel will do well is you Tai Woffenden, rides the bigg's well and and I think he might spring a few surprises.
  17. Do you really think that both your boys can beat Chris Holder, sorry I don't think so, Nermark might give him a run for his money, but I don't Topinka doing it. I saying that Topinka usually finish on the rostrum when this meeting has been held at Sheffield.
  18. Not sure whether Lee can win it, but the track should suit his natural style so I would expect him to do well, as I would expect Andre to do well, but I think that Chris Holder is the stand out rider for this meeting and he is going to be the rider that they are all going to have to beat. For a good outside bet look out for young Tai Woffiden.
  19. Big fast track don't rule out Andre Compton or Tai.
