I did notice last season that the Daily Express was start a weekly column, so the interst was starting to trickle through.

Okay I was not there too, and yes I have read the reports that say they did race to win the meeting, okay I believe all that, but the national press might not be so forgiving, the sport is just managing to get some a national press interested in the sport, I worry that this situation might have dampened their enthusiasm in the sport, and we need the press on our side.

I don't give a toss about Nicki Pedersen's tax returns, but I do about the credibility of the sport, and whether they actual raced to win, the splitting of the prize money makes us look like Wrestling, where things are fixed how on earth can the sport get the National press interested in the sport when riders start doing this. The Poole promotion billed this as £60k for 60 seconds, the biggest prize for a domestic meeting, a fantastic job at promoting and a fantastic idea, but I am sorry the 4 riders have spoilt it, by not following the winner takes all. I would be surprised if a Promoter tries to do what the Poole promotion.

I am with Orion on this one, this was billed as a winner takes all meeting, how are we going to get the National sporting press interested when they see this sort of thing going on, the first thing that they are going to say was that it was rigged.

Have to agree with the unease about the final race, and I think that it makes a mockery of the sport, I think this might be the last time that there will be a big winner takes all prize money, I think that the big attraction to this was the winner takes all.

Certainly sounds that way.

I can understand why the riders did it but don't you feel a little cheated.

Have to agree with you the guy has worked so hard would be nice to see him up and wlaking again.

Looks like he is going to be a fine rider, I think that Poole have got a gem in him, looks like he could well average around the 7 point mark after this kind of performance.

Well Done to Nicki Pedersen, giving the Elite League a view of what they are going to miss this season.

Lets hope that the weather keeps good and the meeting is good, I am going to keep up to date with the live updates, and I am taking Jason Crump to win the meeting

Last thing I am go to say on the subject, I was refering more to you complaining about invading Poole threads, when you do the same, anyway that is the end of that I am not go to make anymore comment about the subject, this is not what this thread is about. Good Luck to the Poole promotion and supporters and I really hope that the meeting goes well and the weather is kind, even with some of the riders withdrawing this still looks like the line up will make for an excellent meeting.

I am just going to add to the Steve Shovlar and Coventry debate, sorry Steve but you have spent as much time on the Coventry v Sheffield thread as I have, the vast majority of fans contributing to that thread have basically told you to shut up, yet you still keep invading the post, but still insist posting your comments on it, that is okay and fine by me everyone has their opinions I don't agree with everybody, but like I say everyone is entitled to a opinion, and this is a forum where you should be allowed to voice your opinion. What I will say is that if your are going to go onto other people's threads expect and accept that others are going to come on yours, the saying involving people throwing stones and glasshouse's come to mind when I think of you Steve. In saying that I hope the weather holds for you all at Poole, and the meeting goes ahead, there is no denying that this is one of the best if not the best line ups for a meeting in this country, and one that the Poole fans and Promotion must be proud and pleased to host. No doubt Mr Shovlar will comeback at me spitting his venom, but not worry I am a big boy.

Lets hope that the weather is alright for this meeting.

Not very often I agree with Mr Shovlar, but I do believe that you did state the reason you was not going to Poole was down to the points level.

I reckon we could well see him back before the end of the season at Poole, good luck to the lad and lets hope that he can beat the demons that got to him. He always struck me as someone who struggled with the pressure. He is doing it the right way one club one league to start off with, I hope that he realises which side his bread is buttered, and my advice to him would be if he was going to ride for another club in another league other than his native Swedan, then come to England and ride for the Pirates where he know is is loved.

I remember in 1980 , Sheffield signed two Polish riders, one Weislaw Patynek rode one meeting at Eastbourne for the club, and then injuried his back ride the training track, and never rode for the club again. The other Pole incidently was a certain Jan Zabek, father of Karol.

Not quite sure but I think that when he had that crash he finished up on the terraces.
