  1. Tommy was Guy Allots older brother. Guy Allott went on to be a very good engine tuner, and tuned Ivan Mauger's bikes. Nicky Allott is Guy's son, he rode for Sheffield, Scunthorpe and Hull. Adam is Nicky's son, who has recently forced to retire. Cannot help with Geoff never of heard him, that is a new one, and unfortunaley Tommy is no longer with us.

Snr yes Junior no he is to young.
  3. Looking forward to a good read.
  4. Sorry to hear this sad news was he not the father of Jim Brett.
  5. I was told that he was a millionaire, I don't know whether hemade his money in hairdressing, but I had heard that he was well off.
  6. Lets hope that he does not injured again at crucial time like this season just gone.
  7. Does anybody know whether Ben Hopwood is fit.
  8. I don't know I think Sean, was somebody who was on the wane, and listening to some very reliable sources was not the Team man he had been. I thought at the time we were daft to let him go, but the more and more I think about it I don't think that it was, no rider is bigger than the club.
  9. Excellent signing for the Bays, the guy is a talent.
  10. Different Promoter, entitled to have different pay scale.
  11. I thought it was to do with Cliff Carr, the previous Promoter.
  12. But how many times has he finished bottom of the pile, how many times does he fail to make the semi.
  13. He was a very frightening looking guy.
  14. Have to agreewith you there Salty, seems to be to many people on this forum who expect instant success from the British boys, although I think I have to agree that Lee Richardson has had his time now, and I am sorry but British Speedway has nothing to gain with includding Mark Loram into the Grand Prix series.
  15. Again I think people are missing the point, putting Mark Loram back into the Grand Prix is a backward step for us as a Speedway nation. We need to be back the youngsters and giving them there chance, we need the youngsters to start riding against the best as soon as possible, otherwise as a nation we are going no where.
  16. Very interesting that Gordon Kennett has offered tobe interviewed, sounds like he has something that he would like to get off his chest. The thing I remember about Gordon is his diabetes, and did he not once try to take out Danish Citizenship due to his wife been Danish.
  17. Well Done to James Sargeant, Sheffield mascot who I believe is still only 12, and in his first year of competative racing.
  18. Okay, how do you come that Steady and Bomber would be worse than Protasiewicz, where your prove. Personally I don't think they would do any worse, if fact giventhe chance they would do better.
  19. This country is and will not be going anywhere with that attitude, Mark Loram along with Chris Louis are the old guard who have had there time. Yes they are good speedway riders, but they have had there time, they are never going to improve, and it time now to concentrate on the younger riders, like Steady, Bomber and riders like Danny King.
  20. Sorry sa much as I like Mark Loram there is no way he should be allowed back into the Grand Prix, Mark is the past Bomber and Steady are the future, we need to encourage them.
  21. Well none of our three quailfy for he Grand Prix, the only rider we appear's to have chance of automatic qualification to next years Grand Prix is Scott Nicholls. Of the rest I would discount Mark Loram, and Lee Richardson, Loram because the guy has had his time, and Lee because over the time he has proved that he is not consistent wins a race and gets three zero's. I think if the organiser's are going to give a nomination for one English rider then it has to be either Bomber Harris or Simon Stead, me personally I would go for Simon, but I can understand the people who are calling for Bomber, and to be honest I don't think there is much between them. What we don't need is Mark Loram been chosen, we need to blood fresh riders, and as much as I like Mark Loram, he has had his time. We got caught out at the World Team Cup with bringing in Chris Louis in for Simon Stead. The fact that Chris Louis did no better than Simon did, showed that we need now to get behind riders like Simon Stead and Bomber, who are going to the leaders of the next generation of riders. Look at the Danes who have stuck with the same group of young riders for the last three or four seasons, not got them instant results but has eventually.
