  1. Reserve I can never remember him reserve ever.
  2. And don't forget that Shawn Moran started his career at Hull, even rode under a assumed name David East I think.
  3. I forgot about that one, I think was Dougie Wyer who recommended him to the Sheffield promotion, heartbreaking when you think about it, as we would have had Shawn Moran and Juicey Brucey in the same team for 2 seasons.
  4. I have never heard the one about him going to Hull, the Halfax one is definately true though.
  5. Did he not go on to be a Social Worker.
  6. I cannot remember did he go back to Glasgow, or did he then move onto Halifax.
  7. 71 I would be 7 at the time, so my recollection is not very clear about Charles, I always thought that it was earlier than that, around 69 when he went to Sheffield.
  8. Just about remember him riding, but the one thing I do remember about him is how miserable he always looked.
  9. Really please that the kids will get something out of this book, and I reckon the book will be explosive, I cannot wait to read it.
  10. I will be looking out for this one then, must buy for myself.
  11. I have heard that Redcar have the equipment that Sheffield used to have, but not exactly sure.
  12. Did you never give the Sheffield training track a go when it was up and running.
  13. Sorry to hear that the Spanish project has hit a brick, after the hard work put in by Russell Paine and his wife. Lets hope that the Tenerife project is more successful.
  14. To be honest in this day and age he would notlast two minutes.
  15. Apart from Swindon, I know that Ari started at Birmingham, did he ride for any other Baritish team.
  16. Remember Ari Kopenen, he was Kai Neimi'Ss brother in law I think.
  17. Yes he was I believe the Swedish Team Manager for some time.
  18. Cannot see why, I don't think he completed anymore than about 7 meetings in 1978.
  19. Like I say he was a very good longtrack rider.
  20. Thanks for that information, I try and keep an eye on his son's Jari progress.
  21. THe winner Makinen rode for Sheffield very briefly in 1978, I remmeber that he did not pull up many trees, but did not stay long enough to give a full assessment. I also belief that he was a very good Longtrack rider.
  22. It certainly would, as I don't think he has been totally lillywhite, I think that he was a rider who did waste the talent that he had, lets hope that his sons learn from his lesson.
