I forgot about that one, I think was Dougie Wyer who recommended him to the Sheffield promotion, heartbreaking when you think about it, as we would have had Shawn Moran and Juicey Brucey in the same team for 2 seasons.
71 I would be 7 at the time, so my recollection is not very clear about Charles, I always thought that it was earlier than that, around 69 when he went to Sheffield.
Sorry to hear that the Spanish project has hit a brick, after the hard work put in by Russell Paine and his wife.
Lets hope that the Tenerife project is more successful.
THe winner Makinen rode for Sheffield very briefly in 1978, I remmeber that he did not pull up many trees, but did not stay long enough to give a full assessment. I also belief that he was a very good Longtrack rider.
It certainly would, as I don't think he has been totally lillywhite, I think that he was a rider who did waste the talent that he had, lets hope that his sons learn from his lesson.
