  1. Bob did pay a visit to Sheffield last season, cannot remember what he said he was doing at the time.
  2. Like I say I can only go back to 77, and for four season up to 80 Doug rode number 1.
  3. Of course, but I started to go on a regular basis from 77 onwards and for those four season Doug rode number 1.
  4. Nice to hear that he is doing ok, I remember before that he 1978 said he fancied a move to Sheffield, unfortunately the move never came off. I would have loved to have seen him turn out for the Tigers.
  5. Tigerblade I agree with as far as I am aware Doug rode the number 1 slot from 77 to 79.
  6. I can only remember Doug riding number 1, I definately don't remember him riding at number 3 or 5.
  7. I do seem to remember him having garage in Sheffield, some years ago, although I don't think that he has it now, I think that near to the Sheffild United football ground.
  8. Yes I do, I rememeber one person asked if John Davis was a bottle blonde or a natural blonde.
  9. But will Middlo look at it that way, I have this funny feeling that he won't.
  10. But he might just choose Eddie, to be honest he owes Steady after the big mistke he made in the World Team Cup last season when he dropped Simon in favour of Chris Louis.
  11. I think we need to remember that the couple had two young children, and I doubt whether they want everybody discussing what happened to their father and mother. The Carter family has had more than its fair share of heartache and tradegy and I think that their needs to be some respect for their feelings, who knows what happened that terrible day and what was going through their minds, an they are not here to answer those questions.
  12. Always thought that Stuart Mountford was a son of an ex rider, and yes Stuart was an Aussie
  13. Was not Ron Mountford the father of Stuart Mountford who rode for Stoke I believe in the 70's.
  14. I remember seeing in either a book or magazine the state of his leg afterwards, an his leg was a complete mess, you would not thought it would be possible to ride a speedway bike let alone nearly win a World Title with that injury.
  15. Well done to the Bomber, a very good showing in his first Grnd Prix, lets hope that he can keep it up.
  16. Yeah and he only won one World title, it is hard to believe and seems so unfair.
  17. Really looking forward to this issue, DJ was a favourite of mine, love to know what his favourite track and least favourite tracks were. Do we have any information Tony on what else will be in the mag.
  18. Talking of old Finnish riders does anybody know what happened to Illa Teromaa.
  19. The guy was awsome, and did most of it passing other riders as he was not that hot a gating.
