Read the article about Ole, and I have to say I dislike him even more than I did before, okay to make statements like shut down GB speedway for two years, but how many people does he want to put out of work, and what after that, making that kind of statement what next nothing.
I remember they guy, amazed that he has just retire from riding must have been well into his 50's, done fantastically well to remain competative all this time.
I reckon we could well see him back before the end of the season at Poole, good luck to the lad and lets hope that he can beat the demons that got to him. He always struck me as someone who struggled with the pressure.
He is doing it the right way one club one league to start off with, I hope that he realises which side his bread is buttered, and my advice to him would be if he was going to ride for another club in another league other than his native Swedan, then come to England and ride for the Pirates where he know is is loved.
I remember in 1980 , Sheffield signed two Polish riders, one Weislaw Patynek rode one meeting at Eastbourne for the club, and then injuried his back ride the training track, and never rode for the club again.
The other Pole incidently was a certain Jan Zabek, father of Karol.
Niced to hear that the project is still on, but I don't think that the tone of your post is very nice, for every know it all there are about 10 others who actually care, and want to see Russell succeed in his project.
What about James Birkinshaw;
(1) Sheffield Tigers
(2) Sheffield Prowlers
(3) Belle Vue Colts
(4) Newcastle
(4) St Austell
(5) Workington
(6) Stoke
(7) Boston
(8) Buxton
(9) Glasgow
(10) Berwick
(11) Edinburgh
(12) Linliithgow
(13) Wolves 2nd
And this season
(14) Birmingham.
