  1. 2011 The Best Ever Year For The Premier League.

  2. Is Scunthorpe ready for the Glasgow Four, Kevin the landlord of the New Barrack Tavern is still having therapy.
  3. I think that you will find that Damien Koppe does not have patriality, it was discussed on the Darren and Sharon Boocock thread, but I think that both would be a good call. Andre Compton riding for the Potters now that would be fun.
  4. I believe that after finishing his career Clive Featherby emigrated to Australia, I also that Col Smith was indeed the same Col Smith who rode for Coventry. Afraid I could not tell you anything about Tony Robinson other than he went into the haulage business after finished his career and yes he will be now 75.
  5. Vog is Squall's bitch, I always wondered what the relationship was between the both of you.
  6. Why not call yourselves Team USA with a nickname of The Bald Eagles.
  7. Interesting that the words new look team are mentioned, would this mean that they are going Elite next season.
  8. Its a dilema mate, nice dilema though. I feel like a kid in a sweet shop.
  9. Belated congratulations to everyone connected with the Hitman, a fine victory and a fine season for the little club, nice to see the likes of the Moss family getting some success after all their hard work over the years.
  10. Lets face it its not the first time that riders have had a bit of a set to, and won't be the last.
  11. I think that he maybe put under pressure to take a nomination, I just hope for his sake that he turns down the opportunity.
  12. To be honest I have to agree with what you are saying, and I am a Tai fan. The big problem with British speedway is that at the present we do not have the talent coming through and have not done for sometime, and the insitance that Britain should have two riders in the Grand Prix is ruining the lads career if they insist on two riders for next year because after Bomber I still think that he is Britain's best rider. I also think that by having just one rider like Bomber in the series will give us a kick up the backside as a speedway nation and address the problems of why we are not bringing riders on, and do something about it.
  13. I would agree with those sentiments, I think the fact that AJ won the last GP should not go unnoticed, and that Nicki Pedersen has been coming back into some decent form in the GP's this season. The fact that Janusz Kolodziej has done two wild cards this season, and performed very well on both occasions and has had a fine season means that he sould get a pick. And to have a GP series without Emil Sajfutdinov, would be unthinkable. I think now is the time for Hans Andersen to take a break from the GP's and re-group and maybe comeback.
  14. Looking at the major riders likely to miss the cut after tonight meeting, I reckon that Jonssson and Andersen are two thatcould miss out, and I can see Nicki Pedersen get a wild card entry to next seasons GP. After Nicki you have to say Sayfutdinov, the guy has so much talent and not give the guy a spot in GP would be madness. I also reckon that Kolodziej should be the next rider to be given a pick, there might be problems with the fact that the GP already has a number of Poles, but I think that he has earnt his place and if you are going to use the wild card entries to assess riders abilities then you have to include him as he has been the best Wild Card this season by a long way. The Final pick is a difficult one, based on Bomber qualifing out right I don't think that GB should have another entry, and that means no place for Tai Woffinden, I am a Tai fan but I think that he needs to go back and re group. They could go for Darcy Ward, but I think that it would be madness for him to take it on, he only has to see what has happened to Tai this season to get an idea of what can happen. You can agrue that Darcy is at a similar level to Emil when he came into the Grand Prix, but I think that Emil is far more metally mature than Darcy, and Darcy's time will come. So my choices would be; (1) Emil Sayfutdinov (2) Nicki Pedersen (3) Janus Kolodziej (4) Chris Harris (if not an automatic qualifier), Hans Andersen or Andreas Jonsson.
  15. Thank you to everyone who came to the New Barrack Tavern to say hello and have a pre meeting drink. Look on here later for the New Barrack Tavern PL Supporters Awards.
  16. Well Done to Kenni Larsen, who is a worthy Champion, although I have to say that Rene Bach rode really well and could well have won but for taking a tumble in the Final.
  17. You make some decent points, one that Chris Harris was picked because he was British, but this season he should now qualify out right, and is showing that he is becoming a quality rider. The riders mentioned by Shovlar Nicholls, Richardson and Kennett would not have made the impact that Bomber has made this season.
