Premier League Best Pairs
spin king replied to cometsfan2k4's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
I think the plan is for Ricky to take his place in the Pairs. -
Well the British Final has come and gone, and one of the biggest talking points has been the the wild card picks for the meeting. I wonder if the BSPA or the Super 7 organisers might consider this idea, have the Semi Finals with the top 7 from both the semi's. Then let riders who have not qualified either through not scoring enough points of due injury, apply for one of the wildcard entries, and ten have an internet vote to choose the the entries, in other words let the fans choose the riders.

British Final & Semi-finals

Well Done Scott Nicholls, realy wanted young Tai to do it, and it did look as though he was going to even with the dodgey shoulder. For me Bomber was a credit to British Speedway, no tantrums about the move by Scott, and I would say a must to Captain the team for the WTC. -

Who's In For Team Gb

You do have a point there mate, not sure when the meetings are maybe they clash with Sheffield fixtures, which would raise other issues for the Test Match club or country, which would come first. -

Have to say that I was very surprised to see Josh included instead of Simon Stead, I was fully expecting to see Simon get the nod for the other wild card entry. I can also understand Simon's disappointment, and I think that he has dealt with a professional attitude, but I do think that we now have to start looking at rebuilding of Team GB and that means dismantling the present team, and start letting youngsters have a go. Simon is yet to race or has barely raced this season, and Josh has been riding well this season both in the Elite and Premier League, so why not with Lee Richardson deciding to pull out of International duties start giving the youngsters a chance and start by giving one that had the misfortune in Semi Final a chance with the Wild Card. -
Got to agree with you, after looking as though Buxton were going to get hammered at the start of the meeting, to come back and make a meeting of it, in what was racing in pretty hard conditions. Heat 11 was a fantastic advert for National League speedway, Jason Garrity doing what he does best winding the throttle on,.but you have to admire the intelligent riding from Rob Branford great riding from a lad so young.

I would love to see Josh Auty get one of the Wild Card entries, but have a feeling that it will be Tai Woffenden and Simon Stead. -

Says that Paul Cooper is unattached, thought he was riding for the Scunthorpe/ Sheffield National League. Not sure but if a rider is unattached to a club, then I don't think that they can compete, Robert Mear was in a similar position last season and was not allowed to compete. No his girlfriend is a Kiwi. -

Thanks for posting the link Mateusz, and I can say that "I was there." -
Know Jason since he was 11 years old, when he used to ride at the Sheffield Training Track and even then you could see the potential in the lad, with a capital P. He has had his problems but he has sorted himself out and he has turned into a really cracking level headed lad. I spoke to him just after Christmas, and Squall has spoken to recently and Jason appears to have a plan and Belle Vue have been looking after him. Like Sqaull says he is more than capable of been a success in the Premier League but any move up would have to be right for Jason, and I don't think it will be a case of the first team that comes in or the highest bidder.

spin king replied to Parsloes 1928 nearly's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Shows yuo have far behind we are from these countries, I think it is a mistake putting this kind of meeting on at an Elite track, maybe better place to give it to an Premier League track or a National League track. -
Slightly off topic, but please Vog can you find it in yourself to come to a meeting at Sheffield. Your mate Squall is missing you terribly, I swaer that he was close to tears when he told us how much is was missing you. Thank you please return back to the topic.
