  1. I think you will find that Vog is referring to date rather than who the meeting is for.
  2. Yeah but think of the loan fees that these youngsters bring into the club, surely the money from that can go towards the 2 young Danes and the young Aussie that have been brought in for the Senior side.
  3. Never been a gambling man, just wanted to be different from most who are voting for Sheffield/ Plymouth and Edinburgh.
  4. And Pat will break three potted plants at the New Barrack Tavern.
  5. PL CHAMPIONS: Somerset FOURS WINNERS:Somerset PAIRS WINNERS:Plymouth TOP OF PL AVERAGES:Ben Barker BEST NEWCOMER:Cameron Heeps MOST POINTS ADDED TO STARTING AVERAGE:Joe Haines WOODEN SPOON TEAM IN PL: Rye House
  6. And count me in for a day out at Birmingham dare say me and Junior might be making the journey with Squall. :t:
  7. I cannot work out why anyone would want to sign him to ride for their club.
  8. Where do you get your information from, did you ask Neil Machin personally why he objected to the opening of the track. I asked him personally at the time and I can tell you that none of the reasons that you have given were given by him at the time.
  9. Riders of that calibre are great for the Premier League, and takes the league from strength to strength.
  10. Not disputing that Lewis would not be valuable addition for the Premier League, but unlike Screeny he is not likely to stay in the Premier League any longer in the Premier League more than one season. The average that he comes in on will take a massive part of a teams averages, and for me that would be a massive gamble to take.
  11. With a starting average of 11.58, he would need to average a lot more than 9+ average.
  12. Bridger did say that he was thinking about doubling this coming season. But his average so high that it would be a surprise to see him getting a Premier League place next season.
  13. I reckon that Darcy is been very clever here. The contract that he has in Poland must be a big one money wise. The lad has exceptional talent, but he is not like others jumping straight into the GP like others but taken his time, he has obviously looked at others like Woffenden and too a lesser extent Holder and Sayfutdinov and seen how they have found it hard to maintain a top 8 place. He is still very young and time is certainly on his side, expect to see him mixing in the GP's either 2013 or 2014.
  14. Well Done to Shefffield/ Scunthorpe team, lets hope that both Promotion keep this team going for next season. For the benefit of Manchester Paul and Parsloe, Sheffield had 4 league meetings rode at Sheffield in these meetings they were called the Sheffield Prowlers , in corresponding fixtures away they were again called surprise surprise Sheffield Prowlers. When the team rode at Scunthorpe they were called The Saints, I leave you to guess what they were called in the corresponding fixture. Most Sheffield fans are happy with the arrangement and I believe that most Scunthorpe fans were, because at the end of the day both clubs have a strong tradition of encouraging young British riders in the past in fact Sheffield had a really good Conference League team some years back. Hopefully this answers your questions, and to why both sets of fans are happy, and hopefully it might encourage more mergers and give more opportunities to more younger riders.
  15. I think it shows you where the real power is in World Speedway. Poland. Any rider who has aspirations of riding in the top league in Poland is not going to take a wild card, end of the day money talks and pays the bills.
  16. Had this discussion at home, and watching Darcy Ward, Chris Holder and Emil Sayfutdinov, I reckon that Darcy is the better rider and the better prospect to make the breakthrough. This season watching him he has taken his racing to a different level, and he seems to me that he has more control over the bike and more moves than the other two.
  17. Yeah thanks GC very nice meal , too be fair to the Sheffield Promotion, and the track staff they are very good at getting meetings on, even when we the supporters think that there is no chance, but when we eventually got into the stadium last night I just could see how there was any chance, and as you have pointed out the last heavy downpour put pay to a lot of people's hard work.
  18. Spent all day waiting for this meeting to be called off, because I had a feeling that the weather would be the winner, and the only reason for going down was to use Junior's prize from the raffle last week a free carvery otherwise I would have stayed at home. And kind of knew that the writing was on the wall when arriving just before 7.00pm the gates were not opened, we had to wait a further 20 minutes in the cold rain for the gates to open. When entered the stadium and looked at the track my first thoughts were that there was no way that I was going to see a speedway meeting and I was proved right in the end, hats off to the track staff who worked their nuts of to try and get the meeting on, but I think that a lot of people could have been saved a lot of time, money ad in the case of the track staff a helluva a lot of hard work and effort fighting a losing battle.
  19. Well it is absolutely bouncing it down now in the town centre.
  20. We have had intermitent rain showers with sun spells and there is also very strong winds. To be honest I would not like to say whther the meeting will be on or not.
  21. Cracking meeting , Ryan Sullivan should still be riding in the Grand Prix.
