Craig Cook is not really gamble. He is not part of the top 2 of the team, so the pressure is off him. The club have told him that they have no expectation of him and go out and enjoy his riding. With Cook's problems with anxiety and nerves this must be music to his ears.
-
Technically incorrect. Craig Cook comes in on 6.98 average Museliek comes in on a 6.21 average What happens over the season is a different matter.
-
Jack Holder is also the first reserve for next years GP's. If a GP rider has an injury Jack Holder is the first rider to replace them.
-
To swap Pickering for Howarth as a straight swap I am almost certain to put us over the points limit.
-
Possibly. Cook has blown hot and cold for a few seasons. But if you take a look at Batchelor's record at Sheffield it was not a track he particularly rode well at. I really think that Batch was a bit of a panic buy when we lost Pedersen. Cook generally has gone well at Sheffield so I don't think it wlll be such a problem, and its not as though he is coming as the number 1 rider.
-
I would say if they are going to release any one from the top 5 it would be Ostergaard. A 40 year rider coming back from a serious injury on a 7.09 average. That would be a massive gamble.
-
My guess is Pickering. He did exceptionally well while he was at the club. But you have to remember that he did not do a full season at the club, and coming in next season for a full season he may find it difficult to up or maintain that starting average.
-
So that is the class of 2022. Looks like a decent side. I did not see the Craig Cook signing. Happy to see Jack Holder, Adam Ellis , Kyle Howarth and Stefan Nielsen back. Connor Mountain should be a good Rising Star. And I think we may have signed the best number 8 out there. Musielek has the potential to up his average. Happy with the team announced.

Ipswich Bound

My Final Team Prediction before the big announcement. Jack Holder Kyle Howarth Tobiasz Musielak Adam Ellis Broc Nicol Jake Allen Connor Mountain (Rising Star) Dan Thompson (8)
-
He will be riding in the top league in Poland and is only permitted to ride in one other league. Been Danish he has to ride in the Danish League. So the answer is no.

No

Oxford are in the Championship Sheffield are in the Premiership.

Certainly looks that way. For me I would go with a team of Heatleaders Jack Holder Adam Ellis Tobiasz Musielak Holder and Ellis would form a formidable top 2, and Musielak I think would push up his average to around 8 points or just below. 2nd Strings Erik Riss Kyle Howarth Riss had a poor season and his average dipped, but I think a change of track will do him good and I think that he is more than capable of upping his average between 6.00 to 6.30. Impossible to think of Sheffield without Kyle, so I think that the club will go with him Reserve and Rising Star Jake Allen Reserve Connor Mountain or Danyon Hulme Jake Allen at reserve would give us that strong reserve that we lacked last season, also if or when his scores improve and if has to move up into the main body of the team, Kyle or Erik would move to reserve. Meaning we always have a strong reserve. The Rising Star I would take either of those two, I think that both can do a job, but I think that I would lean toward Connor, but would not be disappointed if Danyon got the spot. So my Sheffield line up would be. (1) Jack Holder (2) Erik Riss (3) Kyle Howarth (4) Tobiasz Musielak (5) Adam Ellis (6) Jake Allen (Rising Star) Connor Mountain or Danyon Hulme

Promoter seem to like keeping fans waiting for announcement of riders signings. If we are to wait for the next STAAR meeting then it would be the middle of December when the first one is announced. They also seem to like to drip feed signings. Personally I would rather they announced the riders as soon as possible, rather then second guessing or speculating.
-
Thanks for that. Should prove to be a very shrewd signing.
-
He will come in on his 2019 average 6.21.

Any chance that you could show us the link showing the information please.

I don't my friend. Took the info from Speedway Updates pages.

Could be Josh, bearing in mind that he finished the season as third heatleader, and he maybe thinking that he deserves a pay increase. Or could be that interest may have been shown from other clubs who may have offered him big money. But Josh and other possible interested clubs need to be careful as Josh did not do a full season in the Premiership and may struggle to maintain or improve on that average. Kings Lynn are a club that I would imagine would show more than a passing interest in him. And as much as I love watching Josh and would love him back at the club I do think that their has to be a ceiling on riders pay rates at the club and if the money we are prepared to pay and his figure that he wants is wide of the mark then let him go.
-
Well he is basing himself in UK, next season and has said that he would be quite happy to return to Sheffield next season. Make of that what you want.

I was going to include that information but was not exactly clear. -

Not possible as far as I aware. Birmingham have to run 20 meetings as part of the rent agreement. -
Maybe. But on an starting average I would look for him to maintain or make a small improvement. The riders that tend to lose their place in teams are the 5 to 6 point men. Also if Ellis's chance of team spot in the Sheffield due to the improvement he made then the same could be said for Jack Holder. Both made similar improvements on their starting averages
