  1. Not a bad idea, but what about the riders who are riding at number 2, would mean that they would possibly lose out on easy race and a chance to make some money.
  2. Australian ex motorcross rider with British family roots.
  3. Maybe Ricky Ashworth should not have agreed to ride for Plymouth, but lets not forget that this at the time was his one and only option left open to him as he was informed that his place at Sheffield had gone. Also don't forget that the deal on offer to him from Plymouth was better than the one offered to him at Sheffield, so I would imagine that instincts told him that the best thing to do would be to agree to the deal.the only other option left open to him was to be out of work. At the end of the day hindsight is a wonderful thing.
  4. The Lucky Shorts. Could be that me Squall and Junior should share some of the responsibility for them after a fine win last season we insisted that he could only attend Sheffield meeting if he wore the Lucky Shorts. To be fair to Halifax what he was saying is that Somerset own their stadium Plymouth don't and are at the mercy of there landlords on facilities. He has said it would fairer to compare Somerset with Scunthorpe, who both own there own stadiums.
  5. And that is what Halifax Tiger is giving you his opinion. The thing with Halifax is that he travels around the tracks and watches speedway at all different level of Leagues and stadium, and I think that at the end of the day he is probably one of the most unbiased honest opinions that you will get on here. And when I say he travels around a lot I really do mean it, he must spend a fortune on his love of speedway, in fact Squall's Dad is convince that Halifax is a Secret Millionaire.
  6. There could be an element of truth in that statement.
  7. No doubt the Devils have potentially the best top two in the league, but it is rest of the team that looks suss to me. The big problem is if either Fisher or Barker have an off night or receives and injury, because the rest of the team is lacking for me.
  8. Only really two people who know the true story, and we can all speculate on what actually went on, and I guess we will never really know the exactly went off.
  9. Funny a lot of people have that opinion of him, but 5 visits to Rye House since 2008, only failed to hit double figures once and a average of 9.45 and that is without bonus points.
  10. Maybe this could be the time for Ricky once and for all to prove his doubters wrong. I have never known a rider been labelled as a one track pony or not getting recognition that he rightly deserves.
  11. People ought to pay me not predict there team to win honours I am usually the kiss of death with my predictions.
  12. Yeah how many teams finish with the same 7 riders that they started with, vast majority will have to make changes either through riders getting injured or riders loss of form. Look how one rider appeared to change the fortunes of the Newport side last season, from a team that looked destined to finish in the bottom 4 to a side that took on the League Champions and beat them in the KOC.
  13. Yeah but think of the loan fees that these youngsters bring into the club, surely the money from that can go towards the 2 young Danes and the young Aussie that have been brought in for the Senior side.
  14. Never been a gambling man, just wanted to be different from most who are voting for Sheffield/ Plymouth and Edinburgh.
  15. And Pat will break three potted plants at the New Barrack Tavern.
  16. PL CHAMPIONS: Somerset FOURS WINNERS:Somerset PAIRS WINNERS:Plymouth TOP OF PL AVERAGES:Ben Barker BEST NEWCOMER:Cameron Heeps MOST POINTS ADDED TO STARTING AVERAGE:Joe Haines WOODEN SPOON TEAM IN PL: Rye House
  17. I cannot work out why anyone would want to sign him to ride for their club.
  18. Where do you get your information from, did you ask Neil Machin personally why he objected to the opening of the track. I asked him personally at the time and I can tell you that none of the reasons that you have given were given by him at the time.
  19. Riders of that calibre are great for the Premier League, and takes the league from strength to strength.
  20. Not disputing that Lewis would not be valuable addition for the Premier League, but unlike Screeny he is not likely to stay in the Premier League any longer in the Premier League more than one season. The average that he comes in on will take a massive part of a teams averages, and for me that would be a massive gamble to take.
  21. With a starting average of 11.58, he would need to average a lot more than 9+ average.
  22. Bridger did say that he was thinking about doubling this coming season. But his average so high that it would be a surprise to see him getting a Premier League place next season.
