  1. I am sure that someone posted earlier that they announced on Sunday that if you post you ticket off to the BSPA they will refund the money. But I must confess that I did not hear that, and I would check it out first before sending anything off.
  2. Like its already been said its not been open since the Shane Parker meeting, but at least they had the kiosk bar open at the side of it which is something they have not had all season.
  3. Could be a quiet affair as one or two have said that they won't come back to Sheffield. Would probably have to be after the meeting with a 1pm start. Not quite sure how I will be fixed as my work rota is about to change and I am going from working alternate Sundays from 1 in 3. Could be that I might have to arrange an early start if I am working.
  4. Like Squall said all three bars are open for the dogs, or they were when we went January for Squall's birthday.
  5. Absolute cracking day until the stadium and the racing/ Think that is the sensible thing to do about the sweep. But I am not too sure how many of the people who entered will be back for the re-staging. Also a big problem is that some names are hard to make out where they have come from, some don't have names on them so I have not got a clue who they are.. I think what we will do is carry the sweep over, if we get a winner that I cannot trace then I will move it onto the next person, and so on until I can get a winner who I can trace. I did give two people there money back from Berwick so they are now null and void. As it stands we a prize money set at £56.
  6. Wondered when that comment would come back to haunt me. I never trust that Weatherman on Calender again.
  7. Have to agree with those comments, and you have to wonder why they insisted on a parade that was long drawn affair when they could see that the rain was coming down. Really feel for those fans who made very long journeys down for the meeting, surely they should be some way that they can get their money back, as not everyone will be able to attend the re run. Today I think we saw another nail in the coffin for the sport in this country.
  8. Maybe next year I let you do it. But for the record I did not know that I was going to meeting let alone the Barrack because I was down to work and could not book any holiday for the day. But for the record post invitations out on all Premier League Facebook pages. Put a thread on here. Put thread on the Bears Talk forum (really nice of you to endorse it Drac) Printed off the sheets off the top 6 challenge. Informed the pub that we are coming for day. Tomorrow morning spent on here giving out weather up date as well as texting people. Then get down to pub collect the money in for the top 6 challenge. Go to the meeting comfort you when Richard Hall beats Ulirich Ostergaard. Tot up the scores for the top 6 challenge after the meeting. Check around to make sure you have not left your rucksack or your body warmer (how do you forget your rucksack you look like Grizzly Adams when you come into Barrack) Then make sure i am stood behind Squall because Pat Sharp decides he wants give out love bites. I must try harder.
  9. Have not read the thread PLRC meet up. The New Barrack Tavern where all the speedway fans will be does an excellent carvery for a very reasonable price, and comes fully recommended by Paulco. It has a wide selection of Real Ales and Lagers. What more could you want. Good Food Good Beer Good Banter And only a few minutes walk from the stadium. PM me if want any further details..
  10. Start of the season he bet that Plymouth would have finished above Sheffield in the league, I bet Sheffield would finish above Plymouth. Never thought that it would come down to a last meeting decider.
  11. There is a lot riding on this meeting. Will it be Halifax Tiger buying me a pint. or Will it be Me buying Halifax a pint.
  12. latest weather forecast says that we are due a dry weekend at Sheffield.
  13. Listen to the forecast on BBC, and basically non committable. Lets hope that the weather behavees.
  14. I am sure it was deemed to illegal, under European laws.
  15. I am sure that the 2.5% reduction for British riders was dropped last season.
  16. Did think that this was a bit of bluff, but thinking about it the Sheffield Promotion have insisted that they will be competing in the 2nd section of the play offs although they were not certain to finish 2nd from bottom, so could be element of truth. I hope not the sport can ill afford to lose another track.
  17. In light of recent news that rumour could br not true.
  18. Typical Scunny response massive chip on their shoulders at least you won't go hungry. Point is how many of those riders have actually done full seasons for the club straight from the National League I keep hearing Scunny fans talking about backing British riders yet they started the season with 2 Danes, 1 Aussie and 1 Finn Rob Godfrey has done magnificent job at Scunthorpe no denying that, but he does own the stadium there and that is where Scunny have a distinct advantage over us at Sheffield we don't and cannot offer the opportunities to young riders to practice like they do at Scunny. But I am sure that Scunny fans obsession with Sheffield will continue. ,
  19. The Promotion has a lot of thinking to do for next and I think that the team needs major surgery. My assessment of the rider this season who should stay or go are. Pepe Franc; Misses far too many meetings riding on the continent, and far to inconsistent at home (Release) Hugh Skidmore; Not got any better, not got any worse in his time at Sheffield. I think for him to get any better he needs a move (Release) Emiliano Sanchez; I do see him getting any better, and think it time to say thank you and good-bye. (Release) Richard Hall; This was chance to shine, and I am afraid too many times failed away from home, and I don't think he was to convincing at Sheffield (Release) Ricky Wells; At times frustrated the Sheffield crowd with his great performances for The Wolves but poor when riding for Sheffield, but he did start to show some good form at the end of the season and he was our best performer away (Retain) Joe Haines; Start little bit slow, but after the Under 21 win really started to pile up the points and slowly starting to get back to his best, he is not quite there yet but certainly deserves another crack. (Retain) Chris Schramm; Love his effort and desire for the club, but his average could be a stumbling block. The heart says retain but the head release (Release with a heavy heart). That would be only two riders retained, and I think we now have to look for a rider who will lead the team, someone understand the fans and maybe capture the crowds imagination. I cannot see Ricky Ashworth returning to Sheffield so soon I think he will go back to Berwick. Of three names that spring to mind that could be a possibility. Simon Stead, local lad who I think could do a similar job to the one that Sean Wilson did when he came back to the club. or Joe Screen, depending what happens at Glasgow, anyone who takes over at Glasgow might decide to release Big Joe. or Ty Proctor, not had a great season at Wolves and might decide that a doubling up role might just suit him. The second heatleader role I would pick out from Josh Grajczonek. or Rene Bach. Ricky Wells would be third heatleader. 2nd Strings Joe Haines to occupy one of those positions And the other I would look to see what Scunthorpe do, I think that they might have to release either Birks or Palm Toft, either one of those I would take.either one of those two. Reserves Simon Lambert's average reduced and proven at that level for Sheffield. And then I would go for local lad James Sarjeant, he has had some decent performances Guesting at Premier League this season, and rides the smaller tracks well. So my team would be. (1) Stead/ Screen/ Proctor (2) Haines (3) Wells (4) Palm Toft/ Birks (5) Grajczonek/ Bach (6) Lambert (7) Sarjeant A mixture of youth and experience with some local lads. . Of course Palm Toft is a product of the National League. Scunthorpe don't exactly have a track record for using those National League produced riders.
  20. You are obviously hoping that they are going to change the points limit.
