With Joe's average just over 5 I don't think that we will see him riding at reserve next season especially if we are going to bring in three genuine heatleaders.

Simon Stead is a rider that would capture the imagination of the Sheffield Speedway fans, and kind of get the feeling that if its not Simon then we might see a rider of that reputation or standard joining the club. I think that the club gambled last season releasing Ricky Ashworth, but one I think was necessary for both club and rider, I think Ricky had got a bit stale at Sheffield and the move has given his career a massive boost, the big problem is that he now probably wants to stay with the Bandits. Will be interesting to see what the Promotion comes up with for next season, but the signing of Joe Haines is a decent start to the team building.

Confirmed 2013 Gp Riders!

Got agree with Marky on this one, Fair enough Tai can count himself fortunate to be given a pick, but what was the lad suppose to do tell the organisers "Sorry Guys I cannot take up your offer because I get slaughtered on the British Speedway Forum." Its not his fault that the organisers appear to want a British entry. And don't care what anybody says he is the best British rider that we have available at the moment. Its not his fault that he acts and sounds like an Aussie, he was brought up there for most of his life by his parents for what was a better life style like a lot of Brits have done in the past and in the present. This probably explains why he has a different mental attitude to us, he thinks more like an Aussie who tend to be more straight talking and not afraid to air their views. The lad had dual nationality and fortunate for us he chose this country as the country that he wanted to represent, although he must sometimes wonder why he bothers. Rightly or Wrongly he is n the GP, not his fault lets get behind the lad and lets support him, and never know he might just surprise a few people. -
Announced in the Sheffield Star today Sheffield Speedway's first signing; British Under 21 Champion Joe Haines.

Surprised no one has mentioned Ollie Allen to be fair. He did put out that he wants to ride Premier League next season, and you would think that he would do well..

Not question that can be answered because Tai was injured and could not take his place in the Challenge. In saying that I think that MJJ can count himself unlucky not to have got the spot over Tai. Looks like the organisers have decided to go with a British Wildcard and of a ll the British riders out there Tai is the most consistently the best of the lot. But Tai has been in the Grand Prix before he knows what it is about now, and I think he could do better than people give him credit, I don't think he can crack the top 8, but generally you can sit down at the start and work out around 5 or 6 riders that are not going to be in the top 8.

Mrs Spin never put it out today. Mind you she has just taken something out to the bin and reports that it is now starting to rain. Unconfirmed reports that Dave Sitting Bull Hoggart and Neil Runnig Bear Machin are this minute doing the rain dance at Owlerton.. -
Really sad news as he is one the best entertaining riders around in the Premier League. That race at the Gary Stead meeting was one of the finest rides I have seen at Sheffield. But like Squall says he had want was a very bright future before he decided to retire the first time and was lost to the sport, I personally think that he would have been up there with the likes of Bomber Harris. But retirement, injuries on and off the track for me have meant that sadly he never truly reached his true potential. And like Squall I was a big fan of the lad and he was Junior's first ever speedway hero. Thank you Lee for the entertainment over the years and Good Luck with future.

And the whole world should love Simon Lambert.
-
The great Simon Wigg used to say that speedway should always be raced under lights.
-
A rider that I have always rated, and would love to see in Sheffield colours.
-
He has never stood at the side of you like me when the Worgymeister has been riding at Sheffield. Not quite as obsessive as you are about The Rambo Kid.

Nice to see Glasgow getting a happy outcome. With a Danish based Promoter I wonder if they will be tapping into the Danish market..

Name calling how original.

Try writing that when your sober.

Not expecting Ricky Ashworth to be back at Sheffield next season to be honest. I think the move away from Sheffield was right for Sheffield and right for Ricky although I not too sure whether at the time he was actually thinking along those lines I think that he does now. He had start to go a bit stale at Sheffield, and I think the move has given him a new lease of life and I think it has given him more credibility that he deserved, I think that people are starting to realise that he is a better rider than what he has been credit for..
-
Surely any ambition team would say that Aldens job is to challenge Ricky Ashworth for number 1 slot.

Funny ain't it, if these comments had been made by Tai Woffenden this thread would be 20 pages long by now.
