Wolves v Sheffield LC 4th April 2022
spin king replied to Beowulf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I can only see a home win for the Wolves although I think we could run them close. -
So here we go with my prediction, based upon the line up at present Sheffield Ipswich Wolves Peterborough Belle Vue Kings Lynn I have my team Sheffield at the top purely based upon the top 5 in the team. Ipswich 2nd, they have quality number 1, and there are number of their riders that are on false averages. Wolves 3rd due to home track advantage. Peterborough 4th I don't see them repeating last years title win and if Belle Vue or Kings Lynn strengthen I don't see them making the Play Offs. Belle Vue 5th if they can get a proper heatleader in to replace Etheridge/ Allen then replace Peterborough for a Play Off spot. Kings Lynn 6th basically down to the fact that I am not convinced that Kildamand will be back to replace Iversen.

And I am pointing out that his results more recently than what you are. Add to the fact that he won the British title beating arguably the best rider in the Premier League on his own patch. The Adam Ellis that rode 2019 was a much improved rider in 2021. Lets face it who else of that quality could have Birmingham have signed.
-
Looking at Adam Ellis's record in heat `15 appearances for last season for Sheffield. Home 8 appearances 2 occasions winning the race 4 occasions finishing 2nd ( 3 were paid wins) 2 occasions finishing 4th Away 7 appearances 3 occasions winning races 2 occasions finishing 2nd 2 occasions finishing 4th Very nearly a 50% record for either win or paid win, I would say that was not too shabby.
-
Reading between the lines I would say it has to be Adam Ellis.
-
The 1,000 figure may have been reduced, depends on what the deal is with new sponsorship deal with Curtis printers. Quite possible that the programmes will be printed at a greatly reduced cost or even better for free. This would allow the club another way to make some extra money alongside the money they make from fans going through the turnstiles.

2022 championship predictions

One of the best posts I have seen in years and something that I had been thinking that Promoters would definitely consider for this season. I was thinking along the lines of; 15 heats per meeting. 6 man teams Each rider programmed for 5 rides per meeting Each rider guaranteed 4 rides per meeting Tactical subs allowed when home team is 8 points behind and away teams 6 points behind. Tactical Subs only allowed between heats 4 and 12. Last 3 heats to be nominated heats. Some radical changes to a speedway meeting, but would make meetings more exciting and tactical, as well as addressing the problems of rider shortages.

Expect response from UK Martin with that comment.

The BSPA website is the referee's scorecard and would be the official result. -
So where do Belle Vue go from here.
-
That is his average so why not.
-
The point I was making was that if Tai is returning to the UK surely Wolves would want him in their team especially on the steal of the average he comes in on. Maybe Wolves did sound him out for only for him to say that he only wants to be at Belle Vue, I don't know. If Belle Vue have convinced him to ride for Aces it would be a major coup for the club and transform the Teams line up. And along with Fricke they would have 2 GP riders in their team, wonder when the last time a UK team had 2 GP riders in their team.
-
Absolutely. I would be surprised if Tai is planning to return to the UK to ride that Wolves would not want him in their team.
-
His last British average was 7.03. With a British reduction 6.85.
-
I was going for a full team all from the same family. Pretty unique I think.

Teams Represented By Most Nations/Countries?
spin king replied to steve roberts's topic in Years Gone By
Sheffield have had (1) Argentina; Emiliano Sanchez (2) Australia; Josh Grajczonek (3) Canada; Kyle Legault (4) Scotland; Bert Harkins. (5) England; Simon Stead (6) Denmark; Lasse Bjerre (7) Sweden; Bengt Larson (8) USA; Shawn Moran (9) Czech; Josef Franc (10) Hungary; Zoltan Adjorn (11) Germany; Robbie Kessler (12) Finland; Rauli Makinen (13) Norway; Lars Gunnestad (14) Estonia; Rene Aas (15) Holland; Henny Kroeze (16) France; David Bellego (17) New Zealand; Wayne Brown (18) Italy; Paco Castangna And when this season gets underway we can Poland to the list. -
As well as Sidewinder says Birmingham might not have the sponsors license to bring in a Non European, which not only rule out Grajczonek but Ruml and MacDonald. Also Grajczonek I believe now has a very well paid job back in Oz and it might have to be an exceptional deal to bring over here to race.
-
So does Hans Andersen, but he signed for Plymouth. I believe that Poole will go with Steve Worrall, Danny King and Richard Lawson as their heatleader trio.
-
Okay based on riders already signed and who I believe maybe available. Adam Ellis 7.57 Josh Auty 7.16 Ash Morris 4.68 James Shanes 4.87 Paco Castangna 5.52 Claus Vissing 8.43 Dillon Ruml or Josh Macdonald 4.00 Of course a lot depend upon what the Promotion's budget is, but at the end of the day does anyone on this Forum know what Birmingham's budget is. But it shows what can be achieved with building a team with possible riders out there, who don't have clubs in the Championship.
-
Adam Ellis does not have a Championship position. Not sure whether or not he is planning to ride Championship, maybe Jonny Spud could let us know. If he is going to ride in the Championship Birmingham could be a perfect fit for the club and rider.
