  1. You have to impressed with the Ipswich team at the start of the season. Over the two legs all the riders are getting a decent points return. Belle Vue must be slightly worried and you have to question are they good enough when Bewley and Kurtz have an off night, the rest of the team look very flaky.
  2. The new Sheffield captain. No surprises for me Picko the man.
  3. Have to agree regarding Jason. The rotator cuff injury is a serious injury, and in Jason's case it is the 2nd time he has suffered this injury. Ad the fact that he is now 39 makes his return back riding so well is even more impressive.
  4. Very interesting comments on Adam Ellis and MJJ. Here is what I know. On Adam Ellis. Adam was at the Birmingham Press and Practise Day, but only for the press photo's as he was due to attend the Sheffield Press and Practice later that day. Was in common knowledge that Adam had signed a short term agreement? Well it would suggest not looking at the Birmingham Fans Forum. Under the section Rumour Mill and the title of the Adam Ellis. Fans ask the question is Adam on a short term agreement, as they have read on the BSF that he was. Of course history shows that Adam was on a short term contract, but nobody put those who were asking the question either fans that claimed to be in know or the Promotion. And if my memory is correct, Adam when the contract was up cop flack from Birmingham fans who accused him of walking out of the club. Again if my memory is correct this was only settled when Adam posted on his Facebook page that he had only signed a short term agreement and had honoured that contract the one person who could shed some light on this is Jonny Spud who I believe is Adam Dad, and occasionally posts on here. On MJJ Simply this someone has picked up an article from his Polish club that MJJ will only riding on a short term agreement until the Polish season kicks in. This is why a number of Birmingham fans are wanting to find out what is factually correct about MJJ. And it is the past history with Adam, that has lead to these questions been asked.
  5. It is difficult to predict where teams will finished when you don't know all of the teams full line ups. So going on the rumoured line ups and those that have fully announced. Top 4 (In no particular order) Belle Vue Ipswich Kings Lynn Sheffield 5th and 6th (in no particular order) Leicester Birmingham Wood Spoon Oxford
  6. I think it is a wind up. I think the last rider will be Dan Gilkes and I think they are keeping people guessing.
  7. So it looks as though Ipswich final rider will be Tom Brennan, and you have to think that with the team that they have built with Tom in the team are going to be the team to beat. With Doyle and Emil they have a very classy top two. Brennan as the third heatleader should be very useful. Adam Ellis if they can get him back to his 2021 form when he won his British title he could push Brennan for the third heatleader role. Danny King will prove to be a more than useful 2nd string. And the reserves are not too shabby. If we they can stay fit they should be classed as favourites for the title. I am impressed.
  8. So with 5 riders announced it will be interesting to which combo they go with. Doyle/ Rew or Doyle/ Brennan Either way it looks like a very tidy team and 2025 could be their year. If they can get Adam Ellis back to where he was in the first season at Sheffield then they will be really flying.
  9. No Away Averages Danny King 4:90 Adam Ellis 4:85 Keynan Rew 4:80 Dan Thompson 4:09 Jordan Jenkins 3:84 Only Jason Doyle and Emil Sayfutdinov averaged over 5 points in away matches.
  10. I think you are bang on with the last comment. Getting in Tom Brennan is the key to Ipswich success next season. Taking out Doyle and Emil and the bonus points, none of the rest of the team averaged less than 5 points away from home. Okay against a lower team in the league but those who nearer the top you will always be vulnerable over two legs for the bonus point or a Play Off Semi Final/ Final. Tom Brennan is the key to Ipswich next season, or someone that can do a similar job.
  11. Goodbye Kyle, And All The best for the future.
  12. Both Lidsey and Cook have plenty of potential. They are both on similar averages and ability. Cook is on a higher average, so with no British reduction for both Lidsey would give you more points for the rest of the team, so you think the one to release would be Cook. So I think that Mark Lemon will release Cook, if it is between choosing on from these two.
  13. Oxford, Leicester. Nah the only place I see Dan Bewley at is Belle Vue.
  14. I believe he rode in one meeting at Perry Barr on 2014 against Swindon. The meeting was abandoned after heat 9, and the result did not stand. Zmarzlik score 3 points, a last place in his opening ride followed by win in his third ride. I don't believe he made any further appearances for the Brummies as the club pulled out of the league after or not long after that meeting.
  15. Surprised to Leon Flint join us, but reasonably happy with the picking him. Lets face it he had a poor season last season, sometimes it happens, but there have ben glimpses in the past that he could have some potential. Sometimes riders are slow burner and take time to reach their full potential. For instances look at Jason Doyle signed for Birmingham on a 6:50 average in 2013. By 2016 he was in the GP's and 2017 he was World Champion, and since then he has been the best rider in the UK.
  16. Does this really matter. Sheffield won the cup over two legs fact is Ipswich gain no advantage so why bring the subject up over a month after the event. British speedway has more important matters to sort out, feels like people are fishing to find problems.
  17. Foe me keep Tai and Chris Holder and release Jack Holder.
  18. Congratulations to Belle Vue on another title winning season. The Aces beat the team that finished the top of the league, and the team that finished 2nd in Final. For those reasons they deserve the title. We all know the rules at the start of the season make sure you finish in the top 4 and get to Play Offs, I am a fan of the Play Offs and they add extra excitement to the sport, so no complaints from me about my team top the league, Belle Vue are the champs this season.
  19. You have to ask the question is there ever going to be the support for speedway in Birmingham. They returned to the sport in 2007, and in that time they have had the following Promoters/ owners. Tony Mole (Premier League) Gary Patchett and Mick Bratley (Premier League) Back to Tony Mole (Premier League and Elite League) Phillips Group (Elite League 2 seasons fold halfway through the 2nd season) Back to Tony Mole (National League) Mason Family (National League and Championship) Tolley Group ( Championship and Premiership) That is 6 changes of Promotions/ Owners in 16 seasons (2020 was not counted as no speedway due to the pandemic). Also factor in that Nigel Tolley at present does not know whether the stadium will be available, and cannot be 100% sure that the club will run because of stadium availability. This has to impact upon his ability to sign riders, for instance a rider like Tom Brennan. Tom has an offer from Ipswich who are definitely going to run next season or Tom receives an offer from Birmingham, who wants him in their team next season, only problem is Birmingham won't know if they can run due to stadium availability. Who is Tom going to choose? Hates me to say it, but you could put the two best and most successful Promoters to run Birmingham speedway and I think that they would struggle to make it viable.
  20. It looking as though we need to release one of our top 3. I think that we should keep a hold of Chris Holder. So it is Jack Holder or Tai to be released. So for me because he is British and we have a reduction on his average for me keep Tai. The 2nd strings, Howarth and Pickering. Definitely keep Pickering he is exciting to watch and he seems to good to have in the pits. And keep Kyle Howarth I am hoping the Anders Rowe rumour is true, and would definitely be a good signing for the club, but do think that he will be hot property and a number of clubs would be looking to sign him up. The Rising Star I would give that to Dan Gilkes. So my team for next season would be. (1) Tai Woffinden (2) Kyle Howarth (3) Josh Pickering (4) Maciej Janowski (5) Chris Holder (6) Anders Rowe (7) Dan Gilkes Maybe a swap deal with Oxford, Janowski to Sheffield and Jack Holder to Oxford.
