  1. we are supposed to be flying out on Friday morn but it's all looking doubtful now. None of our party can isolate upon return and not willing to risk not obeying it either. Really bad timing it seems. We still hold out hope though!
  2. I'm posting for the first time in many years simply to say that you are an absolute tool. Good bye. :-)
  3. I can't speak for the other European GP's but what I would say is I've been to GP's in Bydgoszcz twice, Torun twice and Leszno twice and the Polish GP weekend's never disappoint. Great value for money. On the whole great weather believe it or not (was 33 degrees in Torun one year), lot's of culture to see in places like Torun, Cheap Hotels, cheap beer & meals and yes there is a strip club there too. :-) Couldn't recommend a trip to Poland highly enough! I usually spend £150 - £250 in a weekend, so reasonable I'd say.
  4. Not got ours yet, ordered via same route 'secure letter'. I'm sure if it comes to it we can pick them up outside the stadium. I would have prefered this method also, as we've done it every other time without any hassle. Who knows if they will turn up? lol
  5. Correct me if I'm wrong but won't the 'world service' stream now work in the UK if no one takes up the contract? I know that this is no substitute for HD Sky coverage, but it's better than naff all!
  6. Much as I thought Alan. Would be great watch as it looks like an azming race track from what I've seen on youtube! And incase no one has seen this enjoy a Polecat doing what they do best......... Great race mind!
  7. Yes for sure. We need the Danish model of the 80cc league, but let's face it, it's never going to happen. The nearest we have, and will have until the authorities pull their collective fingers out, is Grasstrack, but even so, no major 'stars' have come out of that scene in my opinon for a while now.
  8. One more to keep tabs on is Robert Lambert. At just 14 years old this kid looks quality. Obviously he's only riding competively in Germany, but he seems to already look beyond his years! If he progresses as he is at this time then I feel he could be a great hope for GB speedway in years to come. It's just a shame that the rules are keeping him away from competetive racing here, but at least Germany are allowing him to get proper racing under his belt against tought opposition too!
  9. Yeah the stadium has a roof the overhangs covering the track, so not a full roof as in the Millenium stadium, but enough to keep us & the track dry I would have thought! It's an amzing staium & I can't wait for Saturday! Get down there early to the fan park, as there was lot's going on last year.........
  10. Check your junk folder. I get emails from Torun themselves and they go into my junk! As far as I am aware when I signed up a few years ago it was pretty insant as is most of these sign up processes.
  11. As far as I am aware it is as Sky still have the contract. It should be 4am I think. It's going to be one late night, or one early morning for all of us in Europe!
  12. I see that there is a one week break in the Polish league schedule the day after the Leszno GP, therefore just wondering if anyone (maybe our Polish contingent?) know/think that there will be some sort of open meeting on anywhere in Poland? I see that there is an U21 Qualifier in Germany that date, but surely that wouldn't affect some sort of meeting? Any thoughts?
  13. Could the answer not lie in the simple idea of just limiting the league to one meeting a week? i.e. Each team keep their designated race night, but only ride one meeting per week, ala Sweden/Poland. That way the top boys might feel the need to come back if they know they are only doing one meeting over here per week. Just a thought. I do understand it's a numbers game and most tracks need the current amount of meetings, but I think this could work.
  14. TVP Sport currently has the Ekstraliga rights. They also show the polish Individual Final and if I remember rightly the European Indivudual final last year and the U21 Final this year, but that was because they were held on poish soil.
  15. On Polish TV the GP's and World Cup are on Canal+ Sport. Part of the Cyfra Polsat package.
  16. Not sure if this helps but a few of us stayed in the Uni halls of Cardiff University this year. We paid £27 each for an en-suite room in the halls. We found this to be excellent value, as we couldnt find anytihng else but a campsite 10 miles out. Google Cardiff Uni or DM me for more details/contact details.
  17. I would have thought so. I cant say for sure! If you have Cyfra then you will have Canal sport, Orange Sport and Polsat sport, so, in theory, you will have all bases covered incase the contract does change hands. Elitserien is on Orange sport, the gp's are on Canal and Elite league on Polsat just out of interest.
  18. Get yourself to Torun, it's the most beautiful place. As for food drink it is dirt cheap. Beers in the Rynek (Main Sq) were between 5 - 8 PLN (£1 - £1.60ish) Food is cheap too I had a huge pizza in one cafe that was lovely, for about £4! Also, we stayed in the Etap hotel which was only £20 a night! nice place. Basic rooms, however free wifi! At the stadium there is a fan park outside (or at least last time there was, not sure about next year as it's the last gp in colder climate) and beers there were 6PLN and a big juicy spicy Kielbasa was 15PLN. Inside the stadium it was slighly more expensive but marginal, unfortunately NO alcohol in there at all due to odd polish licensing laws, only alcohol free beer which was about 8PLN for a 500ml bottle! Hope that helps. Feel free to ask any more.................
  19. I read somewhere that ZG are keeping AJ, as he might of signed a long contract when he moved last winter or something? Quite a hard choice for them really. I rekon Hancock will go to Tarnow and Pepe maybe to Gdansk (as reported in polish press) It's quite funny seeing the monopoly for the best non GP riders, surely they will command more therefore defeating the object of cost cutting? Much like the one over eight here, where riders 7.99 (or whatever the fook it is, are in demand)
  20. Haha, very good point! Maybe i'll brush up before my next post!
  21. This might be a silly question, but I thought that there was only two teams being promoted this year from the 1st division and no relegated teams? Or is this simply an exercise to see who finishes bottom? I'm confused! If one of these gets relegated then surely three of the four currently battling for promotion are up?????????????????? Hmmm.
  22. I hope it's next year on too, as you say the Stadium is mint. Only down point for me was the lack of alcohol once inside the actual stadium, but to be fair, we all know the score when going to Poland about alcohol in stadiums! Torun is such a beautiful place. I want to go next year again if it's on. They would be stupid to do away with it as it really is a showpiece venue for Speedway in general, but money talks I suppose.
  23. The Euro 2012 tournament only runs from 11th June - 1st July, so there is plenty of time in for the Torun GP. I am guessing it will swap places with Cardiff and revert to the date of the 1st staging, which would be June 25th or something. However IF the GP's expand, which is looking possible (New Zealand, Austrailia & Russia have all been in talks) then we could fine a condensed european GP circuit. So, who knows then?
  24. Hahaha. I was kinda refering to Rosco, as being a swindon fan, I know what he is like (which I admire in him btw). As I said Cov do not want the Pawlicki's to take the piss, but I could imagine Rosco having an outburst and it would be bye bye Cov. Anyhow, where do you live now? Sorry for the hostillity, but it seems like all people do is shoot one another down for the smallest of errors or comments on here. That's why I've never posted until recently!
