  1. Thanks! Wasn't sure if the likes of King would be riding. Thanks for that.
  2. Apologies if it elsewhere in this thread - hell of a lot of posts - but what sort of team do Coventry track in their Challenge matches? Do any of the lads who have (enforced) moved on still ride for them? Seeing they are at Monmore next week and I just wondered.
  3. And BT have got the Ashes this winter I believe too
  4. All I did was get BT Broadband which gave me BT Sports whilst keeping the most basic Sky package which included Eurosport and other interests of mine like At The Races etc. I am fairly certain there are cheaper ways available - despite living about half a mile from some huge Virgin Media offices we can't get Virgin ( or Telewest ) but this is what we did and we're fairly happy with it. I have always loved football but its just getting more and more expensive and as there are Match of the Days etc I'm happy to go without.
  5. For purely selfish reasons, but as others have said, this would suit me fine as I have just decided to get rid of Sky Sports (kept the most basic package) in order to keep BT Sport - even allowing for me not seeing any club speedway I decided I'd rather keep the GP's and attend a few meetings in the League myself. So I hope this is true although you can't say its 'good' news as its indicative of the plight of the sport.
  6. Like many others I was overlooking the van area at Cardiff - she constantly went back to their/his van to curl then straighten her hair. Ok then!!
  7. I get that 100% but I wouldn't have thought that after a season of knowing whats required at NSS that he'd have trouble finding a bike with the requisite power? I mean others seem to have coped better, even Jacobs looked better
  8. Cheers, hope he does come back and is a bit more consistent. Not enough no 1s around to lose him imo
  9. Point is it wasn't obvious. I thought he said 'felt like I didn't have any speed'. Sky obviously thought he said 'f***ing didn't have any speed. Sad as it sounds I've even looked at it again to see for sure. If someone says the effin c knocked me off the effin track then fair do's but when its hardly audible who cares
  10. I'm in agreement about giving it/taking it - always said this about football when fans react so childishly if someone reacts. Just don't think Woffinden is particularly likeable....not that you SHOULD like everyone he just never comes across well
  11. On a slight tangent, once again tonight Sky apologised for ' strong language' when no one swore. Interview with Richie Worrall....they must just assume people swear as he didn't. If anything it draws attention to it so its counter productive...but when there IS no swearing its plain daft
  12. Back to the line up for next season, yes its very early...(20 mins after heat 15 of the final!) but I agree about the ones who may go. Zagar took a long time signing this season so could be in doubt - whether he is in the GPs could change that - and sorry to say it but it may be time to lose Nicholls. In a team of relative youth when a 38 year old struggles its not good
  13. This isn't sour grapes - Wolves were simply better than us over the two legs - but it is frustrating to finish top over a whole season only to come up short at the end. Dare say if BV had won last season I would think differently but its not a particularly satisfactory way to end a season. Reminds me of 2005 when the exact same thing happened.....oh well never mind....it'll come good one day! PS farewell to PK - great rider and great bloke. You WILL be missed
  14. Congrats to Wolves, best team over the two legs....just can't take to Woffinden though. Adams yes, Freddie yes, PK yes. Not Woffinden however. He obviously never hears what some of the Monmore crowd say about visiting riders. But well done Wolves, enjoy it
  15. We were awful tonight, last year in the final we also started terribly but nicked a draw at Kirky Lane.....being there tonight was deja vu but even worse. Can't see us doing 18.....worst thing for me is only Cook and to a lesser degree Steve showed any guts. Can't get the hang if these finals can we?
  16. Congrats to Wolves on a great first leg. You can't win a 7 man game when you barely have 2 riders getting near their potential. Far too many point scoring positions lost. All to do now Belle Vue
  17. Excuse my ignorance but when did this IRR come into force? I always thought if you're injured first race its unfortunate for the team but only reserves could take your rides. Honestly didn't know they'd changed it
  18. What a fantastic final. When the racing is like that nothing beats speedway. Three horse race now.
  19. I'd say it was a combination...Mauger always said he found gating natural but i would imagine the more practice thats put in the better you get. And when you consider the obvious advantage reaching the 1st and 2nd bends first gives you I never get why more attention isn't paid to it. I can think of a few riders over the past decade (the 2 most obvious being British) who whilst not World Champion material have surely made things that much more difficult for themselves by being poor gaters
  20. I'd say he was an ok gater, not as good as Greg or Nicki. But he could pull them out from time to time, when he got his 7 ride max at Cardiff 6 were from the gate i think. I just wonder how many riders (past and present) really practice their starts? Not just before a race but during the week, time allowing obviously
  21. As a layman regarding speedway one thing i have never understood is how riders can bemoan conditions, set ups, engines etc yet never seek to improve their gating techniques. Pedersen pretty much gated to his titles and Hancock is a fantastic gater. It seems like thats the elephant in the room and its too easy to blame the bike or the track rather than think you know what if i made the gate i may get a few more points.....
