  1. How about a consortiun of fans etc buying him out while the value is low
  2. I sponsored the trophies for an individual meeting a couple of years ago with a perpetual cup and a trophy for the four finalists and that cost under £150 with all the engraving. If I remember rightly at the Premier Pairs at Somerset a few years ago the BSPA only supplied a cup for the winners and the late Ian Thomas was so incensed by this that he promised to buy the Workington riders (who I believe where runners up) a trophy out of his own pocket
  3. Bowden will make up some lame excuse why he's not been paid, could be he earned too much money which was not in the contract
  4. This is the link that I use it's fairly good http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=uk7dayx7;page=5;ct=9702~Eastbourne;sess=#forecast
  5. The Heff scored 18 in Germany last week
  6. I think you will find that Nathan will have to keep the “ROD” in his leg for about 18 months, it could then be removed any time after that subject to medical approval the same as happened with Ben Barker but hopefully without any infections setting in. But I still find it hard to believe that three riders have suffered broken femurs in 8 days Luke Bowen at Somerset Nathan Stoneman at Scunthorpe Richie Worrall at Workington Good luck to all three and a speedy recovery
  7. I can’t understand why people are moaning about the so called “sun break” are you true fans or Gaullists who want to see the riders injured. Imagine if you are driving along the road turn a bend and the sun is straight in your face you are blind for a second but you can lower the sun visor and restore your vision, but when a speedway rider gets blinded by the sun he can’t see the fence or another rider and one second without vision could result in a horrific accident. We have seen enough injuries in speedway this year and I for one do not begrudge a 10 minute break from racing to ensure a riders safety, there is a lot you can do like a trip to the food out let or go for a comfort break
  8. Look at him now 10 from 5 at the IOW is no mean feat for a young lad
  9. I am glad that my post wound you up, maybe now you will understand how posts from you and snackette trying to make out that Ipswich is so perfect winds everybody else up
  10. Yet another good nights racing from Nathan scored 10 from 5 away at the IOW This lad is a star of the future yet he never gets a mention at Somerset on a Friday night or a mention in the program and never on the web site. From what I have been told Nathan should be signing for Somerset in September, surely this in not a way to treat a future asset, pull your finger out Somerset or you could lose him to another track. You have been warned..................
  11. Wish it was a little nearer to the west country but it's a long way to Mildenhall on a pension, but best of luck to Nathan Stoneman, hope he's feeling better
  12. Gary O'Hare now theres a blast from the past
  13. What a debut 15 years old and opens his league career with a win and to go on to net 5+1 from 4 rides Somerset really need to look after this lad and sign him for the future
  14. I have watched Nathan ride Grass track since he was about 4 years old, I then started to follow him during after meeting practice at the Oak Tree Arena and watched him progress from a raw junior on a 250cc bike to a making his debut at the OTA on a 500cc and at all times he has shown that he was in control of the bike. We will all have to have patience with him and Josh while they learn their trade, I have every confidence that both riders will learn a great deal from Cameron, Mike, Kevin & Chris

  18. It is my opinion formed on some of the posts that have been submitted by that poster
  19. Be my guest go to Plymouth in fact I might even pay for your entry into the SBA, you are not welcome at Somerset I thought that Nagger was pretentious but you take the biscuit
  20. I think that a lot of riders had a bad year in 2011 and a lot of it was caused by the introduction of the new silencers and their inability to tune the engine to the silencer to maximum performance, this happened in both the elite and the premier leagues and on the grand prix circuit. With Justin Sedgeman I believe that the root cause was the fact that he rode full time in the elite at the start of the season when he was not up to their standard and I blame Ronnie Russell for keeping him in the Swindon team when he should have realized that his head was dropping and pulled him out. I feel that Justin made the mistake of trying to “dig himself out of a hole” which never works, in hind sight he should have pulled the plug and gone home but he is a speedway rider and like most riders they have a never say die attitude. I hope that the break that Justin took has made him better and stronger rider
  21. And I suppose your opinion is correct. As I said IMO why should they come over here with an aussie passport and ride as a brit then when they think that they are good enough they want to ride for Australia, why should we train them to ride against us
  22. Roynon need a spell in the National League to regain his confidence after all the injuries he has sustained over the last 2 years, he is British and needs a little help to get things together again and how can you have the audacity to accuse him of keeping a brit out of a team place, I you will find that it is mostly the Australians doing that IMO if they do not hold a UK passport then they can’t have a team place in the national league and if they claim English partiality then they should choose which flag they are going race under before they sign a contract. There are too many young hopefuls this season that can’t get a team place and to name one is the British 500cc under 16 Champion Nathan Stoneman who, according to the Speedway Star last week, is desperate to get a team place to advance his career
  23. Ricky Ashworth has signed for Berwick according to the Berwick web site they were looking for a new rider but with little joy of a signing. To quote their web site. “Several riders were considered, even talked to, to fill the role.” admitted team boss Ian Rae. “But we weren’t really getting the right results from these discussions. Some riders wanted too much money or warned us they would miss some of our meetings. Or both! We were facing a brick wall. “However, out of the blue on Sunday we took a call from (his parent club) Sheffield’s promoter David Hoggart to say that Ricky Ashworth -- who everyone thought would be joining Plymouth -- hadn’t been able to come to terms with the Devils. Would we be interested? “Yes we were! “I obviously questioned the validity but was assured it was true. A rider of Ricky's ability is too good to overlook bearing in mind our current circumstances and we commenced negotiations on Monday to bring him to Shielfield Park. “With Sheffield’s full permission we touched base with Ricky, our director George Hepburn and I met him at Wetherby Services on the A1 and today we are holding the signed contracts. “Job done! “Whatever the problem was in Devon – and that would be none of our business – I can state that Ricky was very understanding of our situation and of our budgets, and we had no trouble in coming to terms.
