  1. He came over & joined Poole for one season before we took him into the top league & he kicked on from there. I should have said that. It was just an answer to Pinny's question.
  2. Swindon with Leigh Adams, took him as a 2 point rider in 1989 (I think) & he went on from there.
  3. Think the Leicester meeting is a big reason behind this. Although we’ve had rain throughout the day
  4. Guess if the riders didn’t want to go out then there isn’t much that can be done. Assume the Leicester riders have the Swindon meeting (which I was at) in the back of their minds.
  5. Not from the area but this is what has been said. http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/16259464.Middleditch_explains_surprise_Pirates_postponement/
  6. Just read Matt Ford’s interview in the Echo, honest & open as expected. Fair play for him trying to bring a big hitter over but a thankless task. So who will be the 2nd change? I reckon Sczspaniak will be axed (without trying to wind anyone up, I said he wouldn’t last the season as he wouldn’t be good enough, one season doesn’t make a rider). Who is available....I reckon TJ could be an option, needs to ride in a league where he can score points......This would make Poole strong in reserve but very vunable in heats 11, 13 & 15. Can a team of 6 point riders make the play offs? Interested to hear what the masses think?
  7. We've had rain all day here & with more forecast for tomorrow it makes perfect sense.
  8. You can only beat what’s put in front of you. Zach has had another great meeting.
  9. Phil Rising wrote on here that the HO have his passport which is why he's been unable to visit his child.
  10. The home office do not hold back passports without a reason, what that is I don't know but can't be anything good.
  11. I didn’t realise that. I see he’s been booked in to ride next week
  12. So come 30th May without Stef Poole have 6.07 to play with, not that much really. I see Matt Ford is in talks with an asset, THJ perhaps?
  13. The last comment sums it up for me, no club in Britain have the money to pay what the top riders want unfortunately. The risk far outweighs the reward IMO. Even if the money was in place the Poles will want some massive assurances that if their rider was injured the British club picks up their polish wage. It just isn’t guna happen. I think the Poole team was built on so many “ifs” which haven’t really clicked yet. I’m not fishing for a bite this is just how I see it.
  14. So Poole stay bottom after not gathering all 3 points as Somerset won. Some funny race results tonight (no EF mind )
  15. I'm not worried at all, my question is who actually is available & would ride over here, hardly any riders IMO. I reckon you'll end up with Klindt & Smoli if any changes are made. The riders mentioned have no interest in riding over here.
  16. Low & behold they changed their team the following day.....Clearly a coincidence
  17. Not confirmed but over £3200 raised at Swindon tonight for Mitch. Looks like the GP pit passes both Cookie & Greg donated went for £1000 a piece. Looks well over £10k raised for Mitch, maybe even closer to £15k.....excellent work from all involved & a special mention must go to Lee Kilby who I spoke too at the abbey, sss still walking round at 9pm...how he was able too I’ve no idea!!!
  18. As DunRobin said it gets cold PDQ at the Abbey. I'll have a track top with me for when the temp dips. I must say I did get away with shorts on the bank holiday Monday as it was still fairly warm in the evening. I won't be risking that tonight mind.
  19. Make sure you all bring some cash with you to put in the collection, Lee is near Lechlade now, 50 or so miles down. Fantastic effort.
  20. That’s class, fair play to all Brummies fans!!! I will be putting money in the buckets at the Abbey tomorrow!
