Wozniak is here, check him out on twitter, he was in the Lions mascot suit, lol.

Had a walk by BP about 3 weeks ago. Lots of painting had been done. People working around the pits area. Tractor parked on the start line. Could not really see any difference in the track, but I did not really study it, as I was just passing by.

No Doyle. No Harris. That's not good!!!
-
Great news for all Lions fans!! Just hope the promotion can also sign another genuine heat leader to back Jason up.
-
I see Jason has joined Torun. I guess that means he will not be returning next season??

Demolition Of Brandon Stadium
BTFC LION replied to beerspanner's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
To make thins easier for planning, would the stadium be closed down for a period of time? Would that make a change of use on the land easier to get. -
Its a bit of a mess regarding the Mads situation, I think if he had not ridden in Poland on the sunday, or if he tried and it was not good, that he hadn't ridden for any team for the rest of the week then I do not think there would of been a problem. He said on local radio today that he was put under pressure to ride in Poland etc. I can understand why he did what he did, his teams in Europe going for play offs and the BV vs Lions was really a nothing meeting. Does not make it right, but understandable. I guess he had an idea that he would not be at Leicester next season? so looking after his long term interests came first I guess? Good luck to him in the future, have enjoyed watching him this season, I just hope the Lions can put together a team next season that can be competitive.

Klindt says on twitter that because he has not rode in Polland today he is going to Denmark for more treatment instead of riding on Monday.

Leicester V Poole, Saturday 23rd August 2014
BTFC LION replied to SteveLyric2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It makes me laugh with people moaning about the delays. Strong sun light down the back straight, Do you want riders to ride blind?? Heat 2, Matt Williamson falls. Heat 4. Matt Williamson falls. Heat 5. Pawliki falls, air fence needs repair, medic spends time with rider, county ambulance called. Heat 7, Josh Bates falls. Heat 8. Cook replaces Pawlicki, given extra time as rode in heat 7. Heat 9. Matt Williamson falls again. Heat 14, Kyle Newman brakes the tapes, goes off 15mtrs. Heat 15. Darcy Ward falls, does not clear the track, so rerun needed. As for the length of the interval, all riders walk the whole stadium collecting for the Ben Fund, over £1000 collected. So all in all it was Leicesters fault that the meeting went on for longer than it should of !! I DONT THINK SO !! -
The Leicester Line up away at Coventry is , Jason Doyle. Simon Stead. Mads Korneliussen. Sam Masters. Craig Cook. Max Clegg. Josh Bates. Leicester Line up at home is the same accept Rory Schlein replaces Craig Cook.

Leicester -v- Belle Vue Saturday 5 July 2014
BTFC LION replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think you and Big Al have missed my point? I was trying to say that if the people who attend BP have only been going to speedway since the track opened then they would not really know any different. Not all people are like myself or yourselves, watching sky meetings, or the GP, or the meetings from Sweden. Yes I will accept there are many who do know how it should be, and they seem to be passionate about their speedway. But I do not think by slagging the Lions of at every opportunity, trying to dissuade people from attending will help your cause ?? -

BTFC LION replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No I am not losing the plot!! Just fed up reading the same old, same old. I hope to be entertained, but I would take a guess that a good number who attend BP have only seen speedway since the track opened, possibly having never been to blackbird or anywhere else for that matter. So you might be right in saying they only go for the win? -

I have never said it is a great track, I do not believe it is, at the moment, but that could change? Did you have a nice holiday? Do I believe that? NO!! -

BTFC LION replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Hello stranger!! Not sure why I should reply to you? As you ran away last time!! Why did he make the straights so long?? I have not got a clue !!! Yes Nichols said it was difficult to pass on the track, but he did not say you can not pass on the track!! As you see, you can make an argument either way using his comments. The population of Leicester is 330,000 and Peterborough's population is 186,000,roughly half of Leicester's so I'd say proportionally Peterborough's crowds are on par with what we get at BP. The obvious fact is that speedway is in terminal decline and shameful tracks like Leicester do nothing to change that fact. I think this is a bit of a none argument, How big is Birmingham compared to Leicester?? Its all about the make up of an area, other options with regard to what you are exposed to as a young person growing up. -

Just to put you right on a point or two, yes a blank canvas, but not unlimited space as you think, 3 other sporting developments were ment to be built on the land at the same time as the speedway. As for the gates at Leicester over the last 3 meetings, Gate 1 = 10 wins. Gate 2 = 9 wins. Gate 3 = 17 wins. Gate 4 = 9 wins. As for driving a nail into the coffin of speedway, well I think many other clubs have done a far better job at doing that than the Lions!! -

I do understand your point, but the track is not the only one that is like that. I have watched loads on 365 this year, and most seem to be the same, so I am saying its not just a Leicester problem as many would have you believe. Would you not say that a rider putting pressure on the one in front, forcing him into a mistake, would not be a pass then? -

That sounds like most other tracks. Not just a Leicester problem. -
Thanks for all your replies, gives me an idea what is needed regarding crowed levels. That is all I wanted to know, no catch, just wanted info. Shame Robert72 could not of helped me out. I agree with you about how many could be there if the racing/track was better. But until that happens it must still be supported so there is something left to be changed at some point.
-
Never said I was happy with everything!! I am not, and have said it before. All mouth from robert72, he makes a very bold statement and when challenged he hides!! It was a simple question from me and he has run away, instead of backing up what he said. Do you think it is viable or profitable with the current crowed levels? My point is if he knows so much about it then just give me some figures, poss points money, shale costs, staff costs ect.
