  1. To be honest if it was a track share it might not be such a problem. But if Lions folded and Bees moved in I could not see that going down very well at all. I would envisage bees having lots of problems.
  2. Not really a shock. He said on twitter, Can not keep flogging a dead horse, so guessed he would give up. My opinion, bikes just not quick enough, costs money to put that right, but if not scoring points then no money to do it.
  3. Well I was there. I like banter !! It is good for sport. But what Jason did was wrong, Not all people take it the same way, what would of happened if someone had gone for him? Not good. I have supported JD for the last 2 years, been great for us, felt very disappointed when he left giving excuses and not good reasons. Myself and others defended him away at Eastbourne when he had a paddy, and some Eastbourne fans tried to get at him. We stopped them !!! Repaid on sat night with a middle finger salute from him. Makes me feel so good. NOT !!!
  4. He has shown he is not worth it. onwards we go.
  5. Where did I make a threat? Said he could be in trouble if someone did? So are you saying what he did was ok then?
  6. I do not think they would send anyone. But if reported they have to follow it up, says so in the law. Go check it out,
  7. I guess you were not at the meeting then? It was the decision by the ref that got the boos at first, it was JD smug reaction in front of fans on turn 3/4 that people did not like. Then he turned back while walking away to stick his middle finger up at the fans. Very professional , Not !! So if he got abuse after that as he walk down the back straight then so be it!! You can keep your star asset, for now, May be a complaint to the police for foul and abusive gesture's towards supporters, possible cause of trouble. Sure it would not do his visa very good. Great rider, but a prat as a man.
  8. Well after last night I have decided things are not going to get any better for the rest of the season. I think the club either need a man with very deep pockets with lots of money in them, to tempt some quality heat leaders, the ones who say they will not ride a sat track, if the money is good enough I am sure they would!! Or change the race night. We might suffer in the short term with lower crowds, but if we have a winning team, or at least one that can compete then the fans will go out of their way to attend. The crowd was poor last night, but lets be honest it was a wet cold night and even the die hard Lions fans did not think we could win. I know people will say its not all about winning, but seeing good racing, to a point I agree, but new fans do not see it the same way. The crowd is there, but it needs to be encouraged to turn out. They go hand in hand, bigger crowds, more revenue, poss more to spend on riders, better riders, better results, better crowds.
  9. Norrie said last night that they had spoken to a rider already. But would need to get the deal done today so they can declare in time for the Swindon meeting.
  10. Sounds like a few have been practicing up at BP today. To be honest all I want to see is maximum effort and bikes that are fit to do 4 laps. Fed up of seeing bikes failing after half a lap.
  11. That does seem strange, as last season riders were saying how good it was to be paid on time!!
  12. I would like to see Simon Stead back at the Lions.
  13. Who have we got at reserve? Other clubs naming riders.
  14. I went to the meeting expecting nothing!! But credit to the lions they kept It close up to heat 11. We just needed 1 more of our top 5 to pick up points and I think we could of got a point or maybe even a draw?
  15. Josh tweeted, out for 6 weeks. Our season goes from bad to worse!!
  16. I do not believe the 5 weeks notice at all, That would mean after 2 challenge meetings, ELRC, and 1 away meeting he decided to give notice?
  17. Pedersen put a statement out on twitter. Says he is sorry!!
  18. Disappointed to loose, well done to the Bees. But to be honest I am no to down beat, with the team we had I think it was a great effort to keep it so close. Look forward to the new team members coming in, in the next week or so. Lets hope our season starts then.
  19. Have to give credit when its due, well done to the Bees tonight. Lions had a bad night for some reason?? Early days so no bad reaction from me. But as the old school reports always used to say. Must do better !!
  20. All bikes and engines should be bolt standard, then it would be all down to rider ability, will never happen though as to many people within speedway making lots of money tuning engines.
  21. I do not think that would be possible or safe, when you step from the car park on to the path, that is the level the field was before the tipping of the soil. I would guess cars would possibly sink if not careful. As the ground under all the top soil is old tip land I am not sure if you could dig down to deep without having problems, or expense. I am sure there is others on here who could correct me if I am wrong.
  22. I will try and answer your question from memory, when I attended an open meeting before anything had been agreed, It was a meeting trying to help get local support from people who lived in the area. At the time I was part of a local football club, we used the all weather courts, {now the car park} and the grassed area where the stadium has been built. We were told that 12 all weather football pitches would be built, by a company called Pro Five. Bristol based company I think? They would of been situated to your right as you walk from the car park. Our club chairman had even had meetings with them at a later date to try and negotiate a good deal for young teams to train there. It is my understanding that Pro Five were bought out by Goals. They already have a centre in Leicester, and at the time it was not doing very well, so they pulled out of the build. To the left as you walk from the car park should of been a Velodrome. A man from British Cycling was at the meeting, he seemed very optimistic at the time that the funding would be available. Clearly it was, as it has been built in Derby. Not sure who was going to build the BMX Track though? It was my understanding that a 99 year lease on the land had been agreed, not sure if DH is responsible for all of the land or if he has a lease on the part the track has been built on? Not sure if it helps, but that's as I recall it.
  23. I agree the prices should be reduced, but I would guess all the riders would still want full payment for the meeting? I would also guess the riders may be testing equipment, but I would expect this, if they test it now and it helps with set ups when the season starts all the better. Would rather them find out what works and what doesn't in this meeting, with no league points at stake.
