First, good job well done by the Monarchs.
On the Cook/Lawson spat, as they came out of the bend on the first lap Cook had a quick look back. As he got onto the straight he appeared to shut off momentarily causing the others to bunch up.
Every time I visit Newcastle I wonder why they don't bring the bends in to make the straights slightly shorter and the bends slightly wider. I think it would allow a better entry to the bend at the start of the race and maybe stop the rider on gate one getting pinned.
Next up is Brian Copeland doing rider interviews from the pits. A great filler in the many voids however if the portable mic keeps cutting out FFS give up with it and get it fixed, don't do any more until you know it works. Persevering with it today only served to rile the already pissed off punter
Max Factor proved over many years that the radio mike doesn't work from the pits area.
Once again we have a delay, starting gates again, and the meeting dies. We have former Glasgow riders attending, Bobby Beaton, Jim Beaton and David Walsh, could we not maybe get one of them out for an interveiw?
