"Glasgow have had a week off to prepare for this meeting." said John Campbell. Is that why Edinburgh cancelled last week's meeting? Did he think not riding gives you an advantage?
The only criticism of Belle Vue would be the starting gate. The tapes were far to slack, the ref stopped a race as unsatisfactory but the tapes were going up on the gate when the rider dropped the clutch. Other than that the place is superb.
Well done to Danny on winning, I think all of the riders should be given a big pat on the back for their efforts on a track that was quite tricky. Good to see Richard Lawson going well and wearing his Tigers gear, hard luck to Richie Worral but he too tried hard.
At Glasgow former riders pay. Jim Beaton is there every week and pays. Personally I think if you have ridden for a club for a set number of years, as frigbo suggests five years, you should be allowed in free. Maybe a card allowing a discount would be possible. I believe this point is on the agenda with the B.S.P.A.
Shame Ben couldn't have ridden like that before today. Wasn't Barker fan but I'm sorry to see him go. Good Luck for the future.
It was warmer and sunnier today. I know that the riders don't want water going into the turn but not putting water on the straights doesn't do the paying customers any favours.
