  1. Tommy Lorne, 180-1935. Don't know what age your granny was but I bet you couldn't teach her to suck eggs to be honest. Edit. 1880. Thanks Roughie.
  2. Don't know where you got your information to be honest. It was credited to Scotish comedian Tommy Lorne.
  3. Hope so, Harris only uses a Briggs & Stratton engine when riding for us.
  4. What have the dogs got to do with speedway? Oh yes Granty used to be a trap boy.
  5. It's the National Speedway Stadium in name only, B.S.P. Ltd. don't own it. It was given the name to attract grants.
  6. Do people criticising Gary's speech know he has facial paralysis which affects his speech?
  7. And here was me thinking every meeting was a must win, still, as long as the team bond.
  8. That's twice you've insinuated Glasgow have a red cross it's WHITE. Should have gone to Specsavers.
  9. Totally agree on Cradley, Newport, Somerton Pk., was a close second and the new track third.
  10. Re fences, I don't know what the idea was behind the change from chainlink to weldmesh fencing was.
  11. Don't know when you last looked but we don't race on paper.
  12. Bit early to advertise this fixture, a lot of racing to be done before that. Anything could happen before then, and the 3rd of July is a Sunday.
  13. Time for riders to decide, Britain or Poland, not both.
  14. Re Cliftonhill Brian. The stand roof was extended and the legs are on what was the speedway track, so the park would need to be reduced by too much to accommodate a football pitch. Another problem would be the proximity to Ashfield.
  15. It was Workington Tigers and the colours were changed to blue and white.
  16. And they are trying to close them. Horse racing next on their hit list then it'll be fishing they'll get round to speedway eventually.
