  1. see from a little bit in todays WMN Rob Doran will be revealing at next Fridays quiz night at Topsham the whereabouts of the ptoposed new Exeter track. Could it be a silver plated return also notice that the newly approved Circuit of Wales are proposing a 400 metre INDOOR Speedway track to be used in tthe main for rider trainiing seems they have got their sticky fingers on £125 million of government grant money.
  2. Polish Dave who has lived and worked in Launceston for the past 3 years and has been a regular after the meeting aandd SAturday practice rider at Plymouth has at last got himself a team place..............for Torun in Poland
  3. most exciting PL Signing Matej Zagar at Trelawny, at least he stayed for 2 seasons, how many meetings did the Pole do
  4. At Worington the Doctor has been and I believe is Andy Butler who up until recently was the medical representative on the SCB, until the SCB recently decided they didnt need anyone medical as part of the Board. He is, however, Still a representative on the ACU boards that are likely to involve them selves in medical standards He is a lovely guy and his main concern is for ANYBODY at a speedway meeting, riders, officials and spectators should all be safe and looked after if things go wrong.
  5. The wonderful Trago Mills have been talking for about 15 or 20 years of building a superstore in the same area.
  6. ITS a long way to come from Plymouth to ask this question. Please ask him if the council would use their powers to repair the stadium IF IT WAS considered to be in a dangerous state of repair and give the bill to the stadium owners
  7. It is possible for the council to make an order requiring the owners to repair it to a good, council approved condition, if the owners dont do the work the council send in their own contractors, do the work and send the owners the bill which has full court proceedings back up. Its been applied in plymouth to several buildings and the stadium does have buildings.
  8. Its a little bit early, but I would like to take this opportunity to wish all the forumers a happy, prosperous and above all healthy christmas and new year. may the speedway days be warm and dry on race days following overnight rain at every track
  9. Just to show the beebs interest in motorsport they announced today that they are cancelling their formula one contract three years early seems it will be channel four from now on.
  10. I thought perhaps ruffdiamond was Bob Geldoff in disguise
  11. young Jack won the state U21 title over the weekend, Max Fricke was 3rd big people state champs late january
  12. wolfsbane, also known as Queen of Poisons, is an extremely poisonous plant among its effects after being taken into the body is impaired vision.
  13. An important change voted through at the AGM is the disappearance of the home team paying the visiting team a sum of money per point for each point scored. That payment has now disappeared with say Newcastle having to pay their riders all their points money for a challenge at Workington, so will they accept a challenge match under those circumstances PLUS it removes the excuse by promoters of not paying UNTIL the away team pay their proportion of the points money.
  14. LED FLOOD LIGHTS can be bought for about £40 each, supporting tower for the lights can be an inbverted l shape support pole with appropriate triangulation of joints to strengthen them, cable is cheap enough via Amazon, where you can also buy waterproof cable junction boxes. TRY to design it so there is no centre green support to get it approved. BSPA, refs and mr medidith dont like supports on the cetre green that can be run into previous should say inverted L SUpport
  15. away from speedway, it appearrs that Cilla Black died from a single blow to the head after falling asleep on a sun lounger, falling off it and striking hert head. It just goes to show that what would appear to bne an inconsequential head trauma can be fatal
  16. I understand that the former SCB medical adviser was dropped by the SCB, the SCB no longer has a medical advisor, he is, however still an advisor to the ACU
  17. the case here in Devon highlights the fact this young lady rugby player had been under medical supervision for a month before returning to the pitch apparently recovered from the injury
  18. Here in Devon a young lady rugby player has just died after returning to playing after a month off due to suspected concussion. I have campaigned for a long tim e for greater consideration to be given to speedway head injuries/impacts. Andy Butler has brought up this at ACU meetings as well, a bang to the head can result in sudden severe effects a few weeks later. I believe that we need greaer screening before we have a similar tragedy.
  19. Charlie Gjedde, Sam Simota, all we need to do now is get Paco's Dad and Davtd Mulletts sheep to nibble the centre green for a Reading Racers Revival night!!!
  20. lets widen the character list, dear old Howdy Byford who was always up for giving the crowd a song, Chris Julian, Eric Howe 'the little man in the white boots' Frank Johnson, Ray Wickett who became a TV and film stuntman, Clive Hitch was a lovely guy to a 14 year old but it wasnt wise to exclude him unfairly, Chris BLEWETTS Death dives at Exeter incluoing hhis overtake at Exeter wall of death ride halfway up the fence at Exeter and the man i was proud to call a friend Ian Thomas
  21. non listing on the site probably due to Ashley Tasylor visiting his daughter in NZ Till mid December
  22. Sam Simota will be a works JAWA supported rider in 2016
  23. planning constraints Plymouth can run on Thursday, Friday, SAturday at 7.15 and Bank holiday Mondays at 6
