  1. It was a bad night at Ippo, looks as if Chris Neath could also be out for most of the year with operations needed to the neck and back areas. I am sure all our thoughts will be with all who were injured so badly at Ipswich on Thursday night
  2. You know that phrase just when you think he couldnt do anything more to surprise me , he pulls a complete unknown out of the hat well there just could be another rabbit about to come out of the hat. Gino is now back in Italy and his first stop was due to be the GM factory for a new engine, dont forget when he switched to a GM instead of the Jawa last year he went from scrubbing around on 2 and 3 to 9 and even 11
  3. I dont claim to be, but Plymouth are riding a number of fixtures on a Saturday and at least I put my money where my mouth was and promoted the best racing track in the UK until the miners wanted their pit back.
  4. Most seem to be forgetting an important point about James Holder, he has been riding for the last 2 years with an undiagnosed shoulder problem, that has now been sorted out and for the first time there will be a very fit James Holder, I think that could make a very big difference. The questions about Lanham doubling up with a Friday night Elite track must have been sorted a while ago or havent you 'experts' noticed that Newport were also going to ride on a Friday.
  5. Going back a few posts to track facilities Plymouth operate under the conditions imposed by Plymouth City Council aplanning department and they basically say that no permanent build facilities are allowed, so all spectator facilities have to be capable of being removed from the site and stored elsewhere between meetings i,e you cant put up any concrete block facilities for spectators.
  6. I would like to see both Jesper Ks at Plymouth lets have a bit of confusion !! Actually believe that at one time they both rode for Stoke at the same time. Ben will be at Plymouth next year, he can double again, if Nicholas Covatti didnt have too many Italian weekend meetings he could be worth a go and he is on an Italian passport so commes in on a 5, a Friday race night puts a stop to having Matej Zagar, but Jurica Pavlic, now that would be a good signing and comes complete with his own practice track. Gino is getting there and worth giving another run to. Put some new drainage ditches in on bends 3 and 4 pea shingle about £40 for a BIG bag at Wickes. Get Ryanair/easyjet to start services to Italy, Scandinavia and eastern Europe from Exeter
  7. If you are trying to run speedway in a holiday/coastal area you rely on people on holiday to form the bulk of your crowd, hence you need to operate mid week when the visitors have had time to find your publicity and are looking for some evening activity as an alternative to the cinema and the pub. They tend to arrive on Saturday but are inactive on Saturday night because they can be tired from the journey, Sunday is hit the beach time so Tuesday or Wednesday is ideal, Trelawny lost money on every Sunday meeting we ran. Isle of Wight run Tuesdays because of the above, Weymouth used to be Tuesdays in the old days. think they would get better crowds on Thursdays (Tuesday and Wednesday not now available) Have heard a rumour, and it IS a rumour that Newport may switch to Thursday night racing
  8. Hope the weather forecasters are wrong as I will have a car full of explosives for the night
  9. See the Cornwall Solo GTC bit on the grass track page for details of an auction for Nathan Stonemans dad who had a leg off acouple of weeks ago as a result of a GT crash. Fancy Emils hat straight off his head including the sweat it sin the Auction Hats direct from Tomasz Gollob own hand etc etc in fact something from most of the GP circus collected by Honey Sandford The auction will be on SATURDAY EVENING IN THE BAR
  10. as far as we Cornish are concerned Northern Ireland is part of the UK and should be under General NOT International, you can go there without a passport.
  11. With the Nutts Corner ( yes really) stock car track near Belfast opening a new shale track at the end of June according to Rogers Oval racing page it must be the best chance of speedway returning to Northern Ireland. This is the third time I have posted this, is there someone out there who doesnt want it to be known because it keeps getting removed.
  12. Nutts Corner Stock car track near Belfast will be debuting a new shale surfaced track at the end of June, could this be a prelude to Speedway returning to Ireland?
  13. It has just been announced that the Nutts Corner Stock car track near Belfast will open a new shale surfaced track at the end of June. Could this be the first step towards Speedway returning to Ireland?
  14. I can never understand why the best temporary track builders with a proven track record, The Dugards, are not used for all the tempoaray tracks (Sorry about the pun) One piece of what is now very old news, the Coventry track on World Cup night was prepared by Ole Olsen who just happens to be owner/promoter where the final was being run and his Danish team were riding in the Coventry round and needed to qualify in order for the Danes to have plenty of time to buy their tickets. Not being able to take a foreign track to the small claims court? The organisers are BSI/IMG and they are firmly based in the UK. Paid by credit card............ask them for the money. Gone on an organised tour that included stadium entrance as part of the package ask them and/or credit card company for a full refund because the GP was the primary reason for the journey, you didnt go there for bockwurst and beer.
  15. Another southwest ultimate accolade, Bomber got the back page of The Western Morning News with large picture. That back page is so difficult to get and could well be the first time that speedway has beeen on it. In total about a page and a half of coverage. Imust admit to being in tears at the end of that race, lets hope he wins Germany.
  16. Agree that you wont see a planning application for spedway......................... because it doesnt need one. It already has planning for motorspoerts use. The remark about £50k could well be spot on and it could be two well known speedway names combining to pull it off
  17. I thought Mike told me there is a round at Plymouth on the Friday that Plymouth are at Boston
  18. Wizzair are also starting flights from Luton to Poland
  19. I spoke to Tim Stone last night about a rerun date. It has yet to be decided
  20. Ryanair start direct flights from Ocvtober, book early enough and for next season get a flight for £3.99 plus tax. Got to be a bargain
  21. I wouldnt think so for that prize money
  22. It was not just a mechanic, its was Franci Zagar. Matejs dad If Crump is so wonderful why is it always him who isinvolved in physical altercations
