Good post, and a good idea to have former riders involved as stewards, although I guess it may have to be retrospective punishments ranging from banned from practice, points removal to starting from x far back in first race of following GP. The other problem is not so much the crash, we all agree that was NP fault, but the problem is who adjudicates on the post crash antics, that needs to remain with ref I assume. Only problem with Nicki is he perhaps upset many former GP riders that might be appointed as stewards already so they will just side against him each time Entertainment wise Nicki is good for the GPs, but I can understand why other riders dislike him.

Debate? What they posted is all fact. I am generally a Niki fan. I think he gets a hard rap for his hard riding in the GPs where it is the World Championship, you have to ride hard. However last night was totally out of order. He went for a non-existent gap, which you can give him the benefit of doubt for. However his actions on the track post crash and in the pits in kicking and goading was totally inappropriate.

Stop being a knob. Sky dropped the GPs, Eurosport have given us the pinnacle of World Speedway live.

Thanks Luke, great that Eurosport have arranged for it to be shown live, fair play to your team. I am also enjoying the pundit team (guy whose name I am not sure working well with Nichols, and Sophie doing interviews too. Keep up the good work

I think it was looked at as a possible alternative to Long Eaton years ago, not sure why it was discarded though. Location wise, I am not sure many of the causal Long Eaton fans would have gone anyway due to the location. So it would be like starting again with a new fanbase. That said, calling the new team Nottingham would give you a large potential new fanbase to work with, all you need now is a promoter willing to invest time and money

I think the day is long gone where 'one-club' riders exist. I have in the past donated to Long Eaton riders who blew engines, but back then they only rode for Long Eaton, rather than all over Europe or across multiple leagues. I agree with the OP. If a rider wants to ride here, that is fine, but regardless of who started the collection, why should British fans pay for an overseas riders family go and live in another country! I know we are in the EU now, but geez, we are asking fans to donate to a rider so he can spend the money outside of the UK.

I would like to hope most fans of all teams support their team, not individual riders (Poole excepted of course).

Interesting meeting, the score certainly does not reflect the closeness of the meeting, and Poole were to some extent lucky.

But British Speedway allows them to race regularly and develop their talent. Maybe the riders should remember that.

Well NP when excluded seemed to just walk off the track, it was Holder he was whinging and moaning and accusing others. The fact is Holder was pushing NP around, and regardless of NP bailing, Holder put himself in the position to allow NP to do that.

Upon reflection more about tonight's meeting, which was pure entertainment, I feel I have lost a lit of respect for Holder. I always thought he was professional and level headed, but tonight twice he accused other riders of jumping off, then blamed the referee. Heat of the moment stuff perhaps on camera, but even on Twitter he is still blaming the ref. Shame, I did like him, but lost some respect for him tonight.

No mention of Holder doing it to another rider earlier in the GP from you then Mr S? Holder did a NP, accused the other rider of bailing, claims he never touched him when clearly he did. Even his number one fan, Pearson struggled to defend that one. That is such bad news, gutted for him.

Niki totally lost it there, Kelvin was spot on, he can dish it out, but does not like it back! His after race running into Emil is worthy of a look at by the authorities, unsporting. Earlier where Harris beat Holder I think Mr Pearson was a tad upset his favourite Chris was beaten by the British Chris.!

I do like Nicki, the GP would be a poorer place without him, but that was plain silly tonight, and to try and argue his point to the referee was silly. No idea about the rules of awarding a race, but surely common sense and logic should come into play. The stoppage was right in front of the finish line, the winner was clear cut, Crump was miles away from the points clear cut, so award the result.
