not so sure it matters. even if it is a third party it doesn't mean it's not from the heart. there's something in my head that i've heard only a few years ago that he came third in a poll to find new zealands greatest ever qiwi so he's still a hero down there.

Rob Lambert Our Next British Hope?
gee jay replied to sommelier's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
i didn't think he came over as mature in his s/star interview about not being able to race here, having no backing, and not riding for gb unless they came to him and ask, he then might help them out, in fact he hit me as being quite the opposite. i've obviously got the lad wrong. he is undoubtedly a talent and if he can keep injury free he will surely get to mix it with the worlds best because of what he, mum & dad have sacrificed to get to where he is now. but i can't help wonder that as british fans are we fortunate that he had a 50/50 choice with germany and not poland or denmark? your right, he says so himself in every interview i've got of him. he does'nt even think he was as gifted as half the riders he beat to his world championships, and always said the same when talking about darcy ward. i believe he put it down to working harder and being fitter, and ability to get into a rivals head. -
at last, the man behind the legend. and those kevlars are a bit of alright aswell. because bradley wasn't in the country someone had to go to the tailors on his behalf. unfortunately martin was the only one available.

If You Could Bring Back One Rider...
gee jay replied to TonyMac's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
strictly for selfish reasons as i moved away from speedway in the '80's it has to be kenny carter. can you imagine carter v pedersen in the g.p.'s. -
if he cut his hair all four would gate faster. not only rode well for his 3 points but only lost out to walasek in the 'polish q-final' making the new polish prospect jamrog look slow, you've got yourselves a bit of a star there i think.
-
i can understand darcy's,poole's and anyone elses frustrasion at the delay('s) . dudek is half way through his ban and is counting down to when he can ride. why is there what seems to be set punishments for drug and other offences but because it is drink they haven't been able to deal with it better than this.
-
maybe it is darcy or poole that have led to these delays. in this weeks star and not for the first time they seem to be saying that they have a reason to challenge the test if he is given a further ban even to the point of getting it overthrown totally with possible claims by poole, darcy, his foreign clubs etc which would tie the fim up in knots for years if this case is anything to go by, maybe they are still making sure everything is correct ?

thanks for the info, i guess i'm not as disappointed as cam himself . glenn noted.
-
that's a blow, i was looking forward to that. thanks for the info on the new man as i have totally missed that. perhaps coventry will offer cam a testimonial instead, it would be 2 hrs less travelling for me, on a selfish level of course.
-
to be honest i'd rather hear the final 2 riders(if kelsey is the worst kept secret in speedway) and the date for cameron woodward's testimonial(before all of march is booked up). should i know who glen martin is?

it's not that she's got worse, when she was new people cut her some slack. but now after so long with no improvement we just want to cut her wages.

Both Birmingham & Cradley Riding N L At Perry Barr In 2015
gee jay replied to lucifer sam's topic in National League Speedway
i think with a switch of stadium and moving up 1 or 2 leagues would be too much . give them a year to settle in, see what crowds they get etc they'll step up next year, maybe running 2 sides, who knows? plus looking at the possible line up of the league and possible rule changes over minimum team strenths don't expect the mighty heathens to have it as easy next season, can't wait. -

fantastic news for any speedway fans, if this keeps up the national league is going to be the best of the three leagues -
totally agree with your second statement. watching 11- 13 yr olds a few years ago around hayley stadium was brilliant with all the doom and gloom which always seens to follow our sport, now watching many of them in all 3 leagues is even better, robert lambert being one. likewise watching what looks like 6 or 7 yr olds whizzing round arlington on 80 cc's . however i don't think there's plenty of riders whatever limit will be set because of double-up, treble-up riders the n.l. teams are always going to miss out and need guests more often than before, especially now with the fast-track system. it will be good to have eastbourne, lakeside, rye house, & kent if they all enter.
-
i hesitate to argue a point with m v & yourself but fans want to know their teams asap. i think the n.l. is slow to get going as it is as isn't the agm a long time after the other two leagues? the big hitters of the lge will still put sides together early as there will be the usual hints about team limits beforehand and if the limit comes out lower will just drop one or often two riders at the last minute, which is fine unless your one of the riders.

Demolition Of Brandon Stadium
gee jay replied to beerspanner's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
maybe 10 or 20 yrs ago that was true but i'm not so sure now, it's all about money. green belts and brown belts are just something to stop a karate experts trousers falling down. now if you had a mp or someone on the local council living in the village, now thats a different matter altogether. -
can anyone tell me if there are any fixtures this week i want to attend some speedway today and rest of week thanks

gee jay replied to LagutaRacingFan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
it's the same point as i was thinking. connor seems to have stepped away from riding as i haven't noticed his name all year maybe longer, other than as part of the club staff, and i think i read that he was inside the mascot? -

probably too many meetings, and if they're going to go for local talent it's got to be n.l. it's probably just hoping something or someone will come along in the 12 mths. the youngsters that they are talking about will take years to be at e.l. level, unless they can kidnap a few more motorcrossers or grasstrackers. -

go ahead, it will save me reading posts from you in future. and there was a lovely lot of dirt around the fence thats why lewis did so well , he put his back wheel in it instead of crying about it. -

so me, pantostar, star lady and i would think most others who read your post have all taken you the wrong way have we? perhaps we should all go back and read your post again. the end of the day is you've blessed us all with your opinions which your fully entitled to, so now your getting the views of others back, live with it. i actually will be cheering on kl in the play-offs, but as far i'm concerned ' dutch elm decease rules' i forgot to add, the fact i put' trees is a pinhead' might be a clue. -
