i thought that when the news broke of only one team being able to ride out of monmore the reason given was they wanted to start running greyhounds on a tuesday. seems odd not go back to a tuesday now then .
-
i think belle vue has lost out on a little diamond there.
-
brilliant news for the n.l. and the sport in general. disappointed with a mon though i was hoping for a tues if the greyhounds hadn't been a success so i could have popped up a few times.
-
it was just you, but there's two of us now thanks i like the new name but i don't like the new logo.

Tai Should Never Ride For Team Gb Again

i think it might be more acceptable to scotland , there wouldn't be a verse ending " and like a torrent rush , rebellious scots to crush, god save the queen". you sassenach , ouch ! and not very p.c. funny though -
sounds like it had nothing to do with money or frustration over no track to me. more like some problems with drury/ birmingham or with perry bar and the 'too busy else where' was just an excuse. i know it's all if's and but's atm but does anyone know if monmore did have dog racing on tuesdays this year which was the original reason for cradley leaving or will they have a change of race night aswell. i guess the truth will come out when things are settled but if it does come off heathens v brummies next year is going to be a belter and if it's on a tuesday i won't miss it. it's like stoke only nicer. you can park the car around the track if it's really bitter or you're not feeling up to scratch and enjoy the racing from behind your own windscreen only getting out to go and get one of those roasted pulled pork baps or two ?

British Tv Rights For Sgp & Swc ?
gee jay replied to oleoleole's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
my bet is that most people that liked the aussie commentator did so because he was different and once the novelty had wore off would be shot down by the same people. once the complaints started coming in about not being p.c. they would have to change anyway, and that is likely to happen more on b.t than eurosport. there was the same reaction when euro sport first took the g.p's if i remember right. the first one had steve johnston and a n other who at one point after a close up of a healthy young lady getting excited by the action said " geeez the inside of that t-shirt is having a good work out " which was accompanied by johnno's attempt to smother his laughter. -
A Way Forward For National League Racing?
gee jay replied to Electric6's topic in National League Speedway
with the greatest respect E6 i think it's you that is missing the point. i'm not denying that when the third tier was set up it's intention was as a nursery league it's my guess that most teams ran a second team, but it's not the 1960's ? any more. the national league has become a last choice for some teams to stay alive or fold. i don't think either birmingham or eastbourne would have ridden this year if the P.L. was the only alternative to the E.L. , and i don't think cradley could have come back when they did if it meant going straight into the P.L. either. stoke , mildenhall and next year I.O.W. will be there because they couldn't keep afloat in the P.L. your idea, however well intentioned, would force these clubs to be training tracks, which is all well and good if you have a senior side in the top 2 divisions. why should they be made into speedway schools for the benefit of british speedway when the richest club in britain runs the buccaneers for one season when no-one can touch them and then axes them after the second because they are losing a bit of money ? i like 4tt 's but i don't want to watch them every week. as you can tell my opinion is tinted as i support one off the aforementioned teams but my guess is yours is tinted by you supporting a club in the top 2 divisions. -
A Way Forward For National League Racing?

we have the youth set up in place now so that young riders gain years of experience of racing a bike by the time they are 15. then it is time for them to be part of a team so why still have them racing as individuals it's a step backwards. -
thats good coming from you who can't string a sentence together.
-
thank goodness for that i wouldn't have got to any meetings on a friday.
-
after what the dugards put in s/star it would be quite a u-turn for racing to go back to a saturday only bigger crowds would have made getting home in the early hours worth it and i don't think there was much if any difference in attendances was there ? and i'm not sure you would pick a race day to fit in with one rider no matter how good he is. having said that i do hope you are right.
-
are you recovering from a stroke ?
-
yes but to be fair to uncle len he was only complaining that spiller was allowed to come in and ride for anybody other than kent.
-
it's called edging your bets alex. it just means he'll come to eastbourne again but not on the same terms as this season.
-
i wouldn't bet on that thanks to mike tindall
-
not really alex, both clubs know they're running n.l. so no point keeping us waiting. good to see both clubs can't wait for next year.
-
except kirkylane seems to be sending conflicting posts. on the belle vue site he's advocating the n.l. go back to more of a development league with only 2 senior riders and the rest 'newcomers' , and criticising teams buying the title. that would make you a nursery of talent for wolves would it not?
