World Cup - Wroclaw July 2023
gee jay replied to Monarchs2468's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
not sure why pedersen picking himself is 'ridiculous' . from the speedway i've been watching and reading in the s/star it's probably only madsen that's just in front of him in the danish pecking order atm . and with henrik as co - manager seems to me the only sensible choice , perhaps i've missed something ? brady for me aswell even if holder was 100 % which i don't think he will be. don't know if it's some sort of perverted pleasure but i would like to get through from the play-off . an extra meeting to get ready for the final rather than twiddling their thumbs for a few days . better knowledge of whats happening with the track . or it might just be i'm happy to put everyone through the agony of that because i'm not going to see the semi - finals . up the lions !!!! -
don't give up on G.B quite yet . likely a bit of over confidence partly to blame for them and probably poland , when they had to deliver they did . thankfully it wasn't too little too late . that won't be the case on saturday . as far as the track is concerned , i don't know a track in the world that would take a hammering of 100 races & a similar number of practise laps in 4 days . hopefully they've been laying it down so they still have a half decent track for the final . also hopefully , they never try this again . come on the youngsters tonight , a podium spot would give the seniors a boost aswell .

just to back up hackett's post , martin/connor put a couple of pictures up on social media during the n.l.years after murmurs of discontent from fans about having 3 and 4 week gaps between home meetings in july and august while the bangers and possibly a firework display ? took over . one showed the crowd literally shoulder to shoulder with no obvious gaps anywhere around the stadium . the other was a post meeting view of an empty stadium showing the mess left behined from the food and drinks which absolutely covered the floor as far as you could see in the photo . i remember thinking then that they must take in as much , if not more from the food and drink alone from a stock meeting than they do from the entrance money from the speedway . i'm absolutely gutted that it looks certain that it spells the end , i feel sorry for the fans of the cars as well as there's no way the stadium will stay open on the back of half a dozen or so meetings a year . after covid and a few leg problems plymouth away was going to be my big comeback meeting , now i read all the away fixtures have been wiped off teams fixture lists . following on from the wasps which was my local team i find it all very depressing . for all the outside criticism , and some from the inside that Tim , Bob & Martin received both clubs lasted precious little time after they had gone . right i'm off to cheer myself up which will probably consist of around 2,000 calories .

Eastbourne v Poole 29th May 2021 Championship
gee jay replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
wasn't there , but reading all the comments with interest . certainly not the score i wanted or expected . hoped a 50+ score would really grab the attention of the rest of the league and have most teams beaten before they arrive which i believe has been the case very often , that hasn't happened . i thought kyle & edward would do much better against poole . however result will show teams that they're not beaten until riders have crossed the line in heat 15 . bragging rights on the south coast certainly goes to the pirates . i'm not so sure that any talk of "revenge" in the return leg isn't misplaced though . i think the eagles will be the team with the point to prove now , if so that's going to be a cracker. hope that everything gets opened up at poole soon as we could do with some good news after somerset . -
nice little april fool gag on the website , but didn't fool me for a second .

Rider who holds the most track records in the u.k?
gee jay replied to rearingtogo's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Bruce Cribb smashed track record after track record where ever he took his bike , but he did cheat . it was an ice speedway bike . -
if i remember right speedway had a one meeting a month rule that was allowed during the off season ie hull or brighton indoor in nov/dec ? , nyc at newport in jan and telford in feb. i'm sure newport ran an extra meeting one year , again if i remember right , tony atkin had alot to do with it being a speedway team vs a grasstrack team and run it under the grasstrack association banner so the powers that be had no say in the matter. maybe that might be worth a look at if there's any problems .

Championship League Predictions
gee jay replied to W9 Lion's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
or going sledging or punching walls ? -
he's going to need a hefty set of kevlars . last time i saw him was at the cardiff gp only a couple of years ago and he was huge but it was muscle not fat , so weight could put him at quite a disadvantage . was a very exiting rider to watch at his best ,and when he was could beat anybody especially around arlington . his wheelies down the straights while in forth place didn't always sit quite right with me and i only expect to see him as an away rider as there was ill feeling between him and eddie kennett , and well documented is the fact that nobody could tell him anything not even a three time world champion or the master of arlington himself. that said good luck lewis , and stay safe.

the second issue of 'flying high' is available to view on the eagles website. the proposed new air fence for the 2022 season , though seemingly a long way off after this last year is interesting . £20.000-£25.000 for the updated version of the regular air fence as opposed to £40.000- £45.000 for the foam version . to anybody with knowledge of , or especially hands on experience with the fences at glasgow or berwick ? if the money can be found is the foam fence a good option at double the expence ?

can someone help , i watched the speedway show even though i'm not on facebook. can i still pay the fee somehow and watch tonights meeting or do i have to be part of it first , thanks.

definitely good news , bit of a down side for me thought as i can't be there , if it had been at either of the other two tracks i would have been able to get hold of the dvd . maybe speedway portal will come up with something. hope it goes well though .
