Belle Vue Selling Season Ticket Holders Seats Again!
waiheke1 replied to GregoryM's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Tbf it's a valid concern ahead of the play offs. Once you could understand but you'd hope once would be sufficient to alert the problem and fix it. -
But if you look at the difference in averages between riders at hl in the EL and riding in Poland and it's only around 5%. Essentially a 5% incentive to attract quality riders
-
Yeah sorry got you confused with another poster. My bad I got that wrong too! Only issue I see with that is that not all gp riders are equal. If say smolinski got a wildcard or qualified, would it make sense that he comes in on the same as Hancock? Using Swedish or polish top flight average is about as simple as you can get. Perhaps allow a 10% reduction for someone riding in an u21 reserve berth in Poland.
-
I would add that a rider with a current ekstraliga or elitseren average should come in on that. The EL heat format means that for a hl the standards are roughly comparable.
-
7.5 would have been reasonable. Also aligns with his Swedish average. 7.5 would not allow him to fit though. Note you argue tai has a false average. Would you say Bjarne s average was any less false? Former gp rider who has been a hl for all but last season, in on a 4. average? Which he has blown out of the water.
-
Yep. Same as the use of PL averages at the start of the season, or Buzz not being on the HL list. Poole have followed the rules, possibly bending them a little if Hans's injuty isn't as bad as made out, but they haven't really done anything wrong. You can hardly blame them for recruiting a rider who will increase the gates and strengthen the team, rather than going with a rider carrying an injury. The issue is with those who agree to such ridiculous rules, is it purely incompetence, does Ford have something over them - year after year is the same.
-
1st leg at home makes financial sense. Cop a hefty defeat away in a first leg, or a sizeable victory, and 2nd leg crowd can go down if result assumed to be a foregone conclusion.
-
And another tantrum and another departure from the forum... Wonder how long til he comes flouncing back. I give it 5 days. Sweepstake?
-
So everyone seems to be props in teams with only one EDR rider in them. It's all very well saying the scheme served it's purpose, but if we scrap it and teams instead revert to foreigners, it hasnt worked. I would say minimum 3 brits, one of whom must be u23.

Robert Lightfoot - Former Rider
waiheke1 replied to The Doctor...'s topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Does anyone know if he raced and beat several world champions? Actually just looked up his record, and clearly He didn't. Unless there were some in the field at the British junior champs. Iirc correctly he broke his neck ending his career. So im sure he would be a keen supporter of the Ben fund... -
You don't get ridiculed because you are a poole fan, you get ridiculed because you are a moron.

So a 7.58 in elitseren. So a 7.5 in the EL would be understandable. But a 7 in an easier competition? I bet you get Starman agreeing with you 😅
-
But surely a rider who has been absent for too long to have am official average shoukd be assessed to those criteria?
-
Yep, HUGE gamble bringing in one of the top dozen riders in the world. ..surprised your not saying how much this weakens you Steve. Must be massive underdogs now...
-
Great signing for poole and exciting to see lindback back in the UK. But how he has been assessed on a 7 !?! As others have said, clearly ridiculous, especislly when you compare as arne g did comparable riders like Lindgren zagar and aj. Had to be a 7.5 or 8. Neither of which fits. Tbh there should simply be a mechanism in place to give an average based on average in elitseren/ekstraliga which would remove such arguments And as it is dubious whether Hans should even be replaced. Basically it's a signing which highlights both what is good and bad about ford. And whoever approved the assessment of 7 needs sanity checking (or for possession of a brown envelope 😉)

Belle Vue V Poole Elb 12/09/16 Sky Meeting
waiheke1 replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Though on another thread it is suggested Tungate s rear wheel was spinning before Cook moved. So tungate perhaps should have been the one warned not cook. -
Pretty sure it was Erik gundersen? I seem to recall him making repeated offers to help British youngsters, buy these offers were largely ignored. Not sure you can argue at this stage that any dane was more successful than tai will ever be though. Correct.

Steve brum will love this, but I'm going with kk. I assume if AJ and/or Hans are injured they don't count as "withdrawals"? -

So why post purely to have a dig at someone. Posting just to have a dig at someone is aggressive, and it seems 50% of your posts contain such a dig. Shovvy clearly likes to stir, but he never comes across as aggressive in his posts. It's blatantly obvious when he is posting just to get a reaction, and you fall into the trap every time. Tbh, I'd say its quite a lot like KKS - post something outrageous to get reaction, then stand back and watch as a plethora of suckers post in outraged response. Why not stick him on ignore instead of being a sucker? -

You're one of those time wasters aren't you, your probably thinking about buying a motor in 6 months time ot summat. I bet he's sick of people like you! You really lack any self awareness don't you. It's not just Poole fans, there are at least a dozen people have pointed out that the manner you post in is doing you no favours, and you still refuse to acknowledge you've done anything wrong. I mean this: To help, I've highlighted the bits that are either aggressive, or questionably as to their accuracy. why was the meeting there for the taking. You were the only person to suggest Poole would win by 10, everyone else said it would be close. et you then have a dig at others for their speedway knowledge, and even boast about what a good job you did predicting things!?! Why have a dig like that at Ellis, using terms like "supposedly a racer" ? no wonder his dad put you on ignore. Newman was hardly awful, and I 'm not sure he shut off, he just didn't quite have the speed to pass. Hougard awful? He was beaten twice by Holder, and twice by Tungate, riders you admit were "superb" and "massively strengthening". Last night, Fricke was beaten once by Tungate from two heats, and it's far from certain he would have beaten Holder - I reckon Fricke would have added 2 points maybe to the Aces total, noting that he scored paid 10 against Swindon (a weaker side) last night whereas Hougard scored paid 8 against Poole. You do play the victim. Every post you either whinge or mention you are reporting things to admin, or otherwise you dish out abuse. Others have said the exact same thing. The fact is you do make a lot of valid points, but these are lost by the manner you post in and the bollocks you come up with sometimes. Tbh, at the moment you fall into the same category as Flange and Robert72, posting the same monotonous stuff on multiple threads. If Shovvy winds you up that much, then put him on ignore. Simple. -
No one wonders that about you anymore starry...

Surely depends also what they use as basis for EDR averages. For example starke on a 5 earned rifing a lotvat 2nd string or Newman on a 6 earned solely at reserve would be a no brainer.
