  1. Tbh I think Cook is having a decent season, whereas Morris has been disappointing. Cook had proved a genuine 2nd heat leader, which is what Swindon needed morris to be. This time last year I would say they were very much on par with each other.
  2. And aces in 82 won the title when it went to the wire. Can you name a season where after July, more than 3 teams had anything to race for? 84 when ipswich Cradley and belle vue all had a chance is the only season I can remember where more than 2 teams had a chance heading late into the last couple of months.
  3. Even Cradley in 83? In how many other seasons did more than say 4 teams have any chance of winning the title after the end of July? Or did 75% of the league have nothing to race for? Aces fan, honestly can't say I thought they were biased last night. Praised riders from both teams I thought. People seem to be getting hung up on the Newman "pass", but Tbh it did look like he may have just got through the gap, and the cook "tape touch".Think they do a good job, and if you don't like them, mute them and put dome decent music on while you watch. Doesn't say much for the sponsors intelligence then does it? Rugby League fans generally aren't renowned for their intellectual prowess, but they seem to be able to manage without being confused. So I'm sure speedway sponsors and fans, with possible exception of the odd speedway star seller or retired journalist, could figure it out as well.
  4. WHY would poole finishing 2nd or not impact who they pick? Fred Flange has been advocating picking wolves. But surely you go with the option which gives you the best chance of reaching the final and taking the title. As well as the increased chance of two home play off meetings rather than one?I'd hope that nearly anyone interested in seeing the aces race in the semi would do so regardless of opposition?
  5. Tbh I think you can only really argue that Buzz is out of form. Aces could argue that zagar is out of form, plus Fricke absent.Good win for the aces, at the same time poole must be happy with the final result. Don't understand the people having a go at Ellis (seems to not be BV or poole fans) - he is still one of the EDR success stories this season (so too worrall and Jacobs), but away from home against a strong side if he gets a couple of points he has done a solid job. Must be getting close to dropping back to reserve for the play offs? Good, even as an Aces fan, to see holder returning to form this season. And congrats to the Aces on topping the league, even if we don't win the title the new stadium and performances so far make this season a success.
  6. Yep a lot of sports do. And it makes sense. End of the day that trophy doesn't mean much, it's all about winning the final and being champions. Nonetheless, it's a nice acknowledgement that topping the table is an achievement in itself.
  7. No you are right. That would be 12k you said would be there. But I said you said over 10k. 12k is over 10k. Or are you admitting that your statement that 95% of ticket sales at belle vue are on the day was laughably inaccurate?
  8. Nope. Fed flange said there were about 600 tickets pre sold. And you said 95% of sales would be walk up and pay on the day. Someone can probably lend you a calculator if you need one to do the sums on that.
  9. Anyone who isn't an idiot have a realistic view of what the crowd was?
  10. Quote just one BV fan who has counted their horses. So, so bitter aren't you. And you were the one predicting a 10k plus crowd. Unbelievable...or would be if we weren't used to your posts.
  11. Awful post Tbh. There is only one poole fan showing jealousy of the stadium, and he's clearly not very bright. Shovvy for example has given the new stadium and track plenty of praise. To say poole should win by 10 is ludicrous. It's close and could go either way. Zagar and holder, worrall and Ellis, hougarrd and tungsten, cook and buzz, not a lot in it. Nicholls should outscore kurtz but pedersen will likely outscore worrall. Jacobs has been flying and could match Newman. Whichever side rides best on the night will win, but these are very even reams and to say either side "shoukd" win by 10 is ridiculous IMHO.
  12. It's more than that, I'd say 95% of cerebral functions are missing!
  13. Looking at updates, I assume the issue was heat 4 where 2 Rye riders managed to get themselves excluded for riding across the centre green on the way to the tapes. I saw the same thing at a meeting in nz this summer. How you can blame the ref, and not the brain dead actions of the riders, I font know. But agree with the op, that is poor from the Star
  14. Who are you thinking of? I suspect only killer bomber and aj from this season will not be in next year's gp.
  15. I'd say someone isn't getting any! Haven't seen a tantrum like that since..well ever. And that's saying something when there have been some professional dummy spitters on here like, funny he was mentioned, Manchester Paul.
  16. But it's an "official" party innit. It was predictable Steve brum would be along but in fairness on this occasion he has a point. Though I imagine it will be a good party, so can't blame kk really
  17. So are you saying you are only pretending to be stupid? Otherwise I think you have presented more than enough evidence on here for people to make their own judgements.Do you really think belle vue get upwards of 10k attendance each meeting. In a stadium with a capacity of 6k? No wonder there are delays at the turnsyles!
  18. But you only need one of three to perform and you have a heat leader trio to rival any side. The other two at worst will be solid 2nd strings. And leaves you enough points for a good reserve pairing. You may need to rely on the other 4 team members for excitement though..
  19. If there is no conversion on reserve averages, then surely the team building limit should be 42? Batch and bjerre, uninspiring as they may appear, would both be good signings on those averages. Bjerre seems on good form this season. Add those two to nki lambert and the two Lewis, with 5th spot up for grabs depending on limit. Someone mentioned lebedevs, but surely he would be closer to a 6 than a 4.5?
  20. If I had the option of being paid 100k a year with a 4% annual pay increase. Or 150k a year with a 2% annual pay increase, and a 20% performance bonus. I would choose the latter. Nice analogy flange, illustrates the point perfectly.
  21. Suspect that is his current year average then, not his rolling average.
  22. The average attendance in 1995 was 1135 not 1009.
  23. but that's just not true at all is it, your picking and choosing statistics as you see fit. from 1995-1998 the crowds grew by under 1% per year. yes, eliterseien had a drop off in 2006/7 (was growing every year bar one under the play offs til that stage) - but still 1000 more fans than pre play offs, and of course the play ff finals themselves get 3-5 times the avaerage crowd from 1999 (significantly more times the average corwd fro m 98 and before) If you can look at those stats and use them as an argument AGAINST the playoffs, there really is no point debating with you.
  24. This is Starman, he is the world's most renowned expert in mid-reading posts, there is seriously no limit to his incompetence. And absolutely no chance of him admitting he's been a bit thick and mis-read the post. The only person in the world that would have lost a bet on Jerran Hart's release date, months after his release.
