  1. Of the people who have criticised tai for swearing. How many do you think have been put off purchasing Monster because Tai swore?I would be amazed if it is more than zero. It's a brand based on extreme sport and "edginess", not a wholesome family brand or targeted at the over 65s.
  2. Totally disagree with a grading system, especially after the shambles that was this year's draft. Grading is too subjective, and riders "on the cusp" of grades become either bargains or barely employable. I strongly believe converted averages is the way to go. Bjarne pedersen 6.90 L bridger 5.94 S stead 6.70 D watt 5.40 J garritty 6.00 K Newman 5.64 C Wilkinson 3.74 Totsl:40.32 Anyone put together a "stronger" team than that?
  3. That part is simple. Don't call it a draft, make sure the riders have realistic averages and they simply become part of the team building limit.
  4. Bjarne Pedersen 6.90Simon Stead 6.70 Instead of cook and harris? Still over the 40 point mark and definitely weaker imho. If u need to be closer to 40.5, then maybe swap garritty/lawson for klindt and Newman for Auty in addition to the above changes? I font think it needs a lot of work at all.Points scored at 2nd string get multiplied by 0.75 those at reserve by 0.5. Riders not racing El in the last two seasons instead are assessed in line with their top flight swedish/polish average. A suitable multiplier could be found for other foreign leagues and the PL. Pay scb a few hundred quid to do the calculations via his database. Job done in a weekend I imagine, with averages for all riders worldwide locked in. New initisl team builfing points limit circa 35 points I think would then do the job. Edit: my post was also partly in response to the post you quoted.
  5. I'm sure you can find much worse options than Cook and Harris!
  6. Out of interest, what do you think of Ermolenko's commentary?
  7. You think racing for a Saturday track is compatible with being a GP rider?
  8. The first one. They know the rules, just dome numpty looked at the wrong green sheets I reckon.
  9. Points deducted from first leg. Hans either rides 2nd leg or if unfit they can use a guest/ rr ( whichever rulebook alliws). If Hans declares himself fit but poole choose not to use him, then no facility (I.e. sub 6 pt pl rider)
  10. Lindback's average in his last season at belle vue was 6.44. However his official rolling average was 7.94.Tai has missed one full season. To me, using 2014 average is reasonable. I would say any more than one full season and average should be re assessed, to be in line with top flight Swedish or polish average. And at the start of the season, a list of all riders worldwide with their actual or assessed El average should be released. The interesting thing is that this year there was the infamous hl list, which contained a number of riders who were never going to ride here. Surely as part of that process assessed averages should have been established?
  11. Have been plenty of complaints re huckenbeck. However, less pages of debate as kl have less history of cheating and fewer morons defending them.
  12. I forgot crump! And for some readonly I though Young was 40s not 50s. Two of the top 5 aussies since the 40s?
  13. People also forget that Doyle would have finished on the podium last year, bit for half a dozen "moments of madness" where he crashed/got excluded and cost himself not just points but semi and final places. Must have been easily 20 points he threw away.
  14. Spot on. I alluded to this somewhere earlier in the thread. A realistic assumption is a top 2 who average 16 between them, which would mean a team average of 42 to give a meeting average of 46. But if your top 2 average 20 (cma) between them, then you ate down to a team average of 41. And at the extreme end 40.8 will do it as you say. Hans Nielsen and Ivan Mauger don't race EL these days though!
  15. See. Not everything you post has to be total bs. Must feel nice!
  16. Bollocks. You have arguably the greatest American and British rider of all time. 3 young poles who are part of the brightest generation any one nation has produced sincec1980s Denmark. Arguably the 2 best aussie riders (excluding ward) since the 40s. Then the likes of nicki, puk etc. The series is missing only emil and dudek of genuine contenders. And Doyle I would certainly crate ahead of 2000 Loram for example.
  17. I suggest though that you apologise for,or delete, your earlier post. No true speedway fan would wish nasty injuries on any rider.
  18. Not necessarily. Pretty sure it will rule him out of the remaining poole fixtures though.
  19. No. Pedersen only became "unfit" yesterday. Just before the final.
  20. You think the EL lost creditability when the play offs were introdiced. .what do they use in Poland?
  21. I think you've missed the point, Tungate was booked last week to cover Bjarne for the 2nd leg.In regards to the latter question, it depends on the club. there will be no punishment.
