What Would You Like From The Agm
waiheke1 replied to kingbee's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yeah no way those things could come true in 2016 is there starry... -
Why would they make reserves 4? And if they do, why would they increase the points limit? If reserves are a 3/4 then limit will surely stay at 40.5? And no way shoukd lindback be a 7 next season!

The Pzms New Two Team Rule.
waiheke1 replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Do you really think it is illegal for someone to offer a contract which restricts the quantity/nature of other employment to you are allowed to take? Seriously? You are also missing the point of why the poles may be able to do this. It is because they pay a lot more (assuming you get paid!). If other nations try, it is quite likely riders will simply say "no thsnks, won't ride in your league then." -

Or they are annoyed by riders being tired or injured, and want to reduce rider workloads and/or increase availability for practice, marketing or racing on different days? They probably realised they can't restrict to riders from racing GPs (wasn't that recently a rule or proposal of only 1 gp rider per team) so now taking a different approach. Noting many on here have said they want an El where riders ride NOWHERE else. -
Kyle Newman. Take A Bow.
waiheke1 replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It's bollocks that staying at reserve showed a lack of ambition, when the rule change meant reserves were elegible to move up to ream proper. What happened was that Ellis improved more than probably anyone expected, keeping Newman at reserve - any other team and Kyle would have spent prolonged periods in the main body of the team. And that basically ended Coventrys season. Whereas had Garritty agreed to start the season at reserve, he would still have spent most of the season in the main body of the team. And bates/sergeant wouldn't have had confidence dented by having to ride meetings in the main body. I'd suggest Newman had a slightly disappointing season, but was superb in the play offs. -
Many thanks

i imagine the top riders, who may earn as much in poland as all those other leagues combined, may be less inclined to tell them to :"get stufffed." -
Anyone have heat results for this please Many thanks

No. The risk of signing a foul mouthed, badly advised rider who had turned his back on British speedway worked out just fine for wolves.

Wolves Vs Belle Vue, Grand Final 1st Leg, 3/10/16...
waiheke1 replied to Ace no.5's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Is tai back up to hl for the final. Clearly strengthens wolves if he does. Man for man: Zagar vs fred: pretty even Cook vs tai: tai Fricke vs masters: evening Nicholls v thorssel: even Worrall v pk: even, both likely to score much better at home Worrall v howarth: slight edge worrall? Jacob v clegg: neither will score away, bit Jacobs at NSS will score more than clegg at Monmore. Overall wolves with stronger hl, aces marginally stronger at reserve. I would make wolves slight favourites, but doubt there will be more than 6 in it in either leg, or on aggregate. A title would be a great way to mark the first season at the NSS, as well as showing loyalty all season to a mostly British 1-7 . -

Correct. They could also make it a term of getting a contract that the rider is available for practice 7 days if they wanted. As it is, it's probably not an unreasonable restriction, so long as they are paying riders sufficiently well to still make it worth signing. I would imagine it will put "fringe" riders like harris and cook off signing for polish clubs, when there is no guarantee of meetings. -

Yet those who went are all saying they enjoyed it as excellent racing in a top quality stadium? -
I always assumed it was after the beano character. But the urban dictionary makes it clear there is a much more obvious explanation.I assume it is the 1st definition that dictionary provides, and not the third though! That is one definition of "smudger" I was definitely unaware existed!

If it was a legal case, in the absence of a defined definition of longterm they would look at the intent of the rule/law.The intent here is surely to allow replacement of a rider who will be absent for the play offs. Given that play offs total a maximum 4 meetings over a few weeks, it would be fairy say that long term was designed to cover a rider missing the entirety of the play off period. Furthermore, I would suggest the definition of "injured" means "unfit to race speedway" and not "unfit to race speedway in the uk". I struggle to see any other interpretation being available. -

I wouldn't think so. The rider can choose whether to sign up to a contract under those terms or not.I would imagine the club could stipulate the rider being available 7 days a week of they wanted. -

You have gone on and on about your riding pedigree, used it as the sole basis for your arguments and belittled others for "not having the balls" to ride a bike. Steve has admitted he is an enthusiastic amateur at best, others have corroborated that he rides, and he has never used the fact he has ridden a bike as the basis for his arguments. There is no comparison between the two really is there? Ive regularly disagreed with stevebrum, but to call him a bully is laughable. So now you've named him, do you have the guts to say who you actually are, and whether your speedway career is real or just make believe.
