Tbf any speedway meeting can be good and any can be rubbish. Decentish line up I can understand people going along to this. Tbf surely the most releant are those for the 2016 season, so those on speedway stats are a better guide than BSPa rolling averages. This I fully agree with -

That's 14 riders... -
Anyone able to provide me with heat results for this meeting please.

Not just speedway riders, it impacts on people in pretty much any profession. I was seriously considering returning to the UK to work, but the decline of the GBP against the NZD means I'd now want an extra 20k on the package to make it worth moving. Some may say that's a good thing in that it means less competition for jobs for Brits, the flipside is whether you want the most skilled people available working in Britain?

Revert to a normal heat format. Say no rider gets a new rolling average til they have completed 3 home and 3 away meetings, then give a new average based only on those meetings. No changes to teams in first two months of season.Teams making changes must ensure team remains below 43 points after change (I. E. Remove rule allowing replacement of a rider with a lower averaged rider if the team would be over points limit). This would also stop teams strengthening just for the play offs. All riders should get converted averages for next year, based on meetings ridden in each position.Or make the limit 42.5 but with minimum 3 brits, 2 of whom must have been elegible to ride as an edr in 2016, no conversion needed. In which case Ellis becomes a lot more appealing than edr who spent the whole season at reserve.
-
So convert them, not the PL averages.2nd string averages are also false, so do u suggest we convert pl averages for them too? Except of course riders like Ellis spent most of the season at second string...

In what way? The size of loss or that they make a profit?

Belle Vue Vs Wolves, Grand Final 2nd Leg, 5/10/16...

And surely you can see then how unfair it would have been if wolves had not been allowed to use a tr because they were away in the 2nd leg and hence still ahead on aggregate? -

Exactly this. I assume what hyderd is suggesting would be "fairer" is if ability to use the tr was based on aggregate score. Which of course would be unfair on the team riding at home in the first leg.Aces fan, but nothing at all unfair with the ts last night. In fact one of my favourite memories is the 83 premiership. Awat to Cradley aces went behind early, but use if ts helped them turn it into a 6 point victory. In the home leg aces again trailed early, and despite tac sub rides for mortgage (15 point max) and pc aces went into the last heat 8 down on the night and 2 down on aggregate. Cue Larry Ross tac sub and he and pc got a 5-1 over gundersen and king (?) to secure the trophy. Now that was "unfair" use of tac sub - I don't recall a single complaint amongst the aces fans though! -

Congratulations wolves. Good effort by the aces, excellent meeting and looked like a superb atmosphere. Pk was the man who stopped aces, obviously Woffys bikes did the trick for him - I had thought s worrall would outscore him at the NSS, but not to be. Can't fault any of the aces tbh, nicholls a little disappointing but clearly putting the effort in. Speedway as it should be. -
Wolves Vs Belle Vue, Grand Final 1st Leg, 3/10/16...
waiheke1 replied to Ace no.5's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Aces could pull back 8 in the two reserve heats. 10 more still a lot to pull back, especially when u consider wolves would likely get at least a couple from a tac ride if trailing. A point a heat then pretty much, going to be very very tough. Will need aces to have a great night and wolves be poor. Still an outside chance. Very disappointing though. -

so we just need Freddie to drop out of top 8, then it can be two of Puk, Nki, Lindback, Janoswki (whichever two finish out of the top 8), Nicki and Emil. -

speedway has always been about gating.. that's why Mauger and Hancock won more world titles than PC and Gollob. Congrats to Fricke and Lambert. -

if one of those currently outside the top 8 qualifies ahead of Lindgren - who do you see the final wildcard going to R&R? 9th, 10th, Pedersen and...? -
Really? He's 18, averaging 7 from a hl berth in the EL, battling for the world u21 title, made the gp challenge, part of the silver medal winning GB side. What more do you expect from an 18 year old? Who of that age do you think are better?

That team will surely be many points over whatever limit is decided on

waiheke1 replied to kingbee's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Exactly this. No reason this shouldn't be used. Except of course one team did achieve all those things this season didn't they?Though unfortunately it seems - according to rumours, though ones which seem to have substance -the club are having issues paying riders. Hopefully the play off final should help alleviate those. And hopefully it's a cash flow issue as a result of the Peter craven call off, which I guess cost aces 150kish, rather than an issue showing flaws in the overall business plan and budgets. -

Because GPs are Saturday and Poland is Sunday. It's the only valid argument those who blame the decline of speedway in uk on the GPs have. -

Why do people think it would not be legal to offer someone a contract which limits the amount of other contracting work the contractor can do? -
The Pzms New Two Team Rule.
waiheke1 replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Surely if they can prove they have sufficient finances they can stay on a tourist visa, no need for a work visa if they are not planning to work in uk. Think they can spend 90 days in uk in a 6 month period, which would probably work ok for the season.
