  1. Andersen ellis harris batch j holder Newman 2pter?
  2. Tbh it's not too bad, though it will mean a weaker top flight. You could take this year's Robins and swap out tungate and sedegeman for 2 three pointers. ACTUALLY, that is quite weak! morris is good value though.
  3. Tbf he'll be fine. He rode most of the season 2nd string, so his El average is not inflated. HE'LL be on a lower average than say r worrall, but is a better prospect. Of the edr, only Newman seems to have a bargain average...
  4. Logic would be that polish or swedish top flight riders without a 2016 uk average come in on a 1.4 multiplier. 1.2 for 2nd tier in those countries or Danish top flight. And team building averages drop to 43 for re declarations. Those are the sort of things that should have already been thought about and clarified. My concern is it will occur to them only in june..
  5. The outlay for SWC surely went to BSI? That said, it was basically a sell out, so if they lost money someone definitely stuffed up with the business plan. the peter craven fiasco surely put them 100k down at the start of the season, and maybe they have just been behind all season since then. would be interesting to know how the regular attendances compared to the business plan though, as surely they cannot have missed by much? and can only assume the play off revenue was already built into their plan as well, for the extra revenue there not to have ade a signficant impact on the debts.
  6. tbh, most riders in the top tier will have their averages fall. Given team's can build to 50, but once new averages come out then the average per team will be aorund 42. the likes of the worralls for example wont maintain 8.5 averages in the top flight. Even on a 14, which will likely drop to an 11 say, i still see value in Doyle, given he can take 5 rides per meeting, and the ability to use him for TR. bur vertainly there will be some bargains, and riders with overinflated averages. Adam Ellis i think swill still be ok on his average, it is lower than say Richie Worrall, and I'd definitely take Ellis of those two.
  7. i' just afreaid there are too may things not fully thought through. 1.4 seems much too high a multiplier for EL ELs, when you look at the likes of Cook, Lambert, King. How is team building going to work once the new set of averages are released? Surely they can't kepp the 1.4 multiplier. Logically the rule would be that the team building limit drops to 43 once the new averages are released, and re-declarations ust be to that, but I'm not convinced that will have been planned. The relegation play off is surely going to be utterly one sided again though, given the top tier team essentially had an extra 10 for team building What they really need to address is fixture planning, avoid big gaps and clashes. Looking at bele vue they could build a team something like: Zagar, Jacobs, Fricke, S Worral, Cook, Bewley, 2pointer. Kyle Newman looks like a bargain, now there's a surprise! Where's Gavan, I'm sure he told us categorically that PL average would not be used...
  8. IF you move it to Hyde rd you have to have Carter. an aces fan, but I'd say Carter was best rider of his era on that track, even ahead of mort. I think if you were naming 4 for the best possible heat, it would be Loram you'd leave out. He could be in the "b" race with smith, lee and j Louis. I'd still argue j Louis ahead of evitts, as British speedway was stronger in his era, plus a better world final record.
  9. Pc x 2 and Lee to be the top 3. Kc to be close to the podium Are you excluding British riders chsmpionship, and hence riders such as jack parker, Would also include j Louis ahead of evitts.
  10. Worth buying? tempted by that and the mort one. Is there a lot of footage not available on YouTube?
  11. of course there is the 82 world final, where collusion backfired. Pc told Les he would keep outv of his way when they clashed (less had two wins, pc 1 pt I think) - bur less ended up making his worst gate of the night and trailing in behind Andersson and stancl, those dropped points coating him the world title.
  12. Don't see it being an issue for Doyle. Imagine it is the danes it will mostly impact.
  13. That's a scary looking balance sheet! Not sure how you comfortable you would feel being one of their creditors.
  14. If they adopt scbs weighted average approach, it will illustrate that morris had a solid season, though the issue was that swindon needed him to be a genuine 2nd hl and he was more a solid 3rd hl. If, as is likely, they don't adopt such a sensible approach, then agree he is a bargain compared with kurtz. Disagree with an earlier post that said he had outperformed lambert.
  15. The racing was very good this season. didn't you post a while back and say that was the main thing you were interested in?
  16. Certainly more frequently. IN fact, I believe that is why Ole olsen was such an advocate of the gp system. He felt disadvantaged as a dane at a time he had no compatriots (for most of his career) to do him favours, unlike most of his rivals. The gp series reduces the likelihood of such favours as most riders have something to race for right up to the final round.
  17. Personally if it's a combined league I would say converting to EL averages makes more sense. SO use scbs exercise, then add pl riders at an 0.6 conversion. convert all overseas based riders averages as well. once that is done use a multiplier so that a team building limit of 43 becomes appropriate. Job done.
  18. TO get back on topic: the Kenny Carter dvd set was the last one I viewed
  19. It's interesting reallyin the overseas final:Penhalls became the bad guy for being blatantly obvious. Haven't seen any criticism of the Collins brothers for team riding in the run off. Then in the ICF you had olsen and gundersen ensuring little Bo peep got the point he needed, and I have seen no criticism of them either. Ultimately, both the danes and the yanks failed to get an extra rider through, whereas the Collins brothers were successful. I think where greg fell down was his bs explanation and subsequent tantrum. Man up like penhall did, and I think there would have been much less criticism on here. There are so many other examples, some a little more subtle (81 overseas final springs to mind, when Ross and Jessup, both flying and comfortably qualified, finished quietly 3rd and fourth which allowed Mauger and Lee the points they needed to qualify.)
  20. Tbf the criteria was having appeared on the rostrum of the British final, not simply best British riders not to have won.
  21. Betts finishing below Hurry, barker etc? Dugard 2nd? I think you have failed to take into account the quality of the respective British final fields
  22. Seriously? you are really asking why?By letting holder past, greg ensured holder secured an extra point in his effort to catch zmarzlicks point lead. Had greg feigned an ef, then both holder and zmarzlick (in the same heat remember) would have gained a point. so that wouldn't have helped holder at all. AS for your earlier comment about "being a genius to work it out" - it doesn't take much thoufht to work out that an extra point is useful in a close battle for a medal. But again, the key topic should surely be whether greg was inelegible to be world champion after refusing to take part in the rest of the series.
  23. Tbh the first point has some validity. The second one, not do much...
  24. No comment at all on the key issue, which is the withdrawal from the meeting which would seem to make Hancock inelegible for the world chsmpionship? And seriously questioning why do it? surely that was blatantly obvious, to give a sponsored mate an extra point in his quest for a medal. surely irrelevant what stage of the meeting it was, a point is a point. It was about the Championship not the meeting itself. And no mention that Greg's explanation didn't match either the fim inspection of his bike or his behaviour as soon as passed by Holder?
  25. Wouldn't it be good if the sport had a magazine which could ask questions of the fim such as:. Who granted greg permission to miss his last rides and at what stage did they do so? What is their view of greg Hancock public statement which contradicts their own findings regarding his machinery Had they not granted permission to him to withdraw, would that have meant he was inelegible to be world champion, or only inelegible to ride in subsequent meetings (if there were some)?
