You are missing the fact that teams are built using the same averages, based on the 2nd tier.A chsmpionshipship title side as scb mentions could add 6 points to that. so they have essentially "built" a 46 point team. it's quite possible a poor pl side may build to 48 say, and lose a couple of points off their average. Now as you say they are riding a harder league. But say they average 39 points (I. E. 3 below what the league average of 42 is). If u assume a multiplier of 1.4 is about right for the varying strengths, then a 3 pt drop in average is perhaps equivalent to stopping 2 points in the Championship. So there could be a closing match. The real issue I would suggest is that surely any team interested in promotion would have chosen to go up for this season?

Best Teams You Can Build Under 50pt Limit
waiheke1 replied to Paddy The Rebel's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Stronger if you swap watt and bates for Lindgren and a 2pter? given that Lindgren will take 5 rides and the reserve only 3? In the side you named, surely Klindt would be at reserve not batch? -
Tbh 1.4 is about right, proportionate to other riders, especially when u consider most of the EL only riders have deflated averages due to the format. reality is that on average riders averages are over inflated by 20% - your 1.2 is about right, had they also applied a .85 factor to the PL averages. That would have allowed building to a 42 or 43 point limit which could have been retained all season. Makes no sense for me for "in season" averages to be calculated across both leagues, opens things up to accusations of deliberate under performing in the PL. Single ride average vs meeting average (ride ave x4) makes zero difference?

Disagree. I reckon poole will start as favour items with c holder in the side.

Please explain in what way it is a closed shop? which riders were not able to be involved in the qualifying rounds.Tedious? I guess the exceptional quality of racing this year is one of the "few saving graces." Racing that is as good as you would see on any track in any era is good enough reason for me to enjoy watching.

WHY?

You are missing the point. no they will not attain that average. But in relation to other riders there average is proportionately correct. And that is all the team building process is about - aiming to ensure teams of relatively even strength. VERY few riders this season will maintain their starting average. But if I was building a team idx still be happy to have Doyle or holder in it. And Hans did average over 11.5 in a season. in fact he once averaged 12 away from home over a bl season.

Can't access the full accounts. but if these are for year to April 16 I have a real issue with that currentvliability figure. surely all the monies for the called off meeting should be classed here? certainly the cash received should not have been treated as revenue prior to the meeting being staged.Superficially at least the balance sheet looks very healthy, which makes no sense if there were historic financial issues. Unless Carswell had pumped in a heap of cash to the venture, which would explain his equity? If anyone has the full accounts pls pm me, I'd be keen to view them.

Most In-demand Riders For The 2017 Season
waiheke1 replied to poolebolton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Klindt. Lambert. Newman. batch. Lindgren. B kurtz. Schlein. Harris -
If kind is an asset surely he us first on the team list? Freddie Klindt Masters Nicholls Thorssel Clegg 2pter Title defending side?
-
WHY? Almost every rider is coming in on an average they won't retain, given that on average each rider will drop by over a point. The new averages are ok relative to each other. would be ridiculous if Doyle was only a point more than harris for example.

Not what the BSPa statement said. HAVE a link to support this claim?
-
You can swap zagar and Payne for s worrall and Williamson. .1 over being an le to swap out Richie rather than Steve in that combo. More likely we keep Steve and have hougarrd rather than Richie/zagar in that line up
-
Swap kurtz (assuming scb is correct that he should be 7.65) and a 2 pointer for those two reserves. or Milik rather than kurtz if he is available on a ludicrous 7.1. or otherwise Ellis? Bewley will surely be at BV?

Belle Vue National Stadium

EVEN by your standards this is an incredible post.. -
Harris is far better than josh g, would be a good stsrt to tesm builfing if somerset sign him. If kurtz is a 7.63 as scb argues, then surely both he and j holder will be at poole. Zach at 7 may be fine, I think most sides will gave a 2 or 3 pointer at reserve.
-
I'd say assumption is he will race Poland sweet Denmark therefore cannot race uk.Also kl seem to have a range of options to set up a very solid team without him. Key surely is retaining lambert who is a bargain on an 8.5.
-
It was a little ambiguous. It states the only difference would be that it was mandatory for all chsmpionship sides to have a 3pt brit reserve. It then said if a rider hadn't achieved a 3 poin averagethey would be a 2. It didn't state that that rule would apply only to that tier. If that rule does apply only to the 2nd tier, that means there statement that there is only one difference is incorrect. But who knows!
-
Yep. the much criticised format of the last few seasons could actually have been a good thing this season, as a side lack swindon could go top heavy with a couple of 2 pointers at reserve, who will only be competitive against other riders of a similar ilk.
-
Could add kk and j holder to that plus kurtz and a 2 pointer if my calculations are right. would be a decent side.
-
I stopped at 15 quid as I assumed that was the net of vat average sale.It was also based on assumption that business case may have assumed 2000 per meeting. IF it was 1400 then that's another 9k short per meeting, so looking at close to 200k over a season. And that could well be part of the issue, as surely the plan for this stadium must have been crowds of 2k plus per meeting
-
Screen smith and Louis arguably rode in an easier brit final era than say grahame Morton and evitts. who again ride in arguably an easier era than the 70s. Grahame on brit final alone surely rates ahead of some much better riders, including the likes of not just evitts bit probably Morton and others as well.
-
9.23. Could see maybe him, joonas and garritty being the bees hl next season? Unless you can retain kk, in which case I'm not sure you'll be able to justify garritty on an 8.55 when both joonas and Nicholls are on 9.35 and 9.23.
-
I said the next 10 quid (I think) which would be 20k based on a crowd of 2000, so 10k per meeting. So 3k for zagar, 2k across the 3 young brits, 5k across the other 3, seems to tie in to your figures? though i thought a chunk of zagars was covered by a sponsor?
