something like 2 meetings at hl, 15 as a second string and 10 as reserve.
-
Carter surely has to be top 10? Britain were still strong in the early 80s, and he missed the podium only once in his peak years, including of course the back to back victories, one with a broken leg. Closer to the podium than missing out imo.
-
Back on topic: just watched the 76 British final on you tube. Simmons scored an immaculate maximum, but pc the real star of the show and surely favourite for the champion of champions title. craven and Lee to join him on the podium. Assuming 8 to qualify for the commonwealth final: add kc Simmons jessup and Loram to the list? Tatum and havelock if it's 10 qualifiers.
-
Easily done. go with the latter. New riders are converted at 1.2 from El, .85 from pl.

Carter ahead of gundersen for me Bruiser. gundersen had the odd poor meeting, Carter never did. I reckon carter averaged a point a meetung more than gundersen. I saw Ross and smith beat gundersen in the league, I only ever saw mort and very occasionally pc beat Kenny. 2 blrc apiece. Very interesting to read your thoughts, I attended pretty much every week from 81 to the beginning if the 87 season. Best 4 riders round Hyde rd in that period: Carter gundersen Morton nielsen Next 4: penhall s Moran pc Ross next 4: knudsen olsen smith lee next 4: sigalos l Collins ermolenko sanders. What a meeting that would be!

Harris might achieve his average I reckon. Zagar and Lindgren too. It's like any season, you pick riders that offer value on their average. thus season though that simply means dropping less than 15% off their average. if they can actually hold it or improve that's exceptional. BATCH Schlein k bjerre could do it.

B kurtz will surely be at poole and Klindt surely at wolves? and can't understand people leaving out morris?
-
To cover injuries you would use IRR, not tactical subs. 10 points down, one per heat, 3 per meeting would be my restrictions (and not before heat 5).
-
Both awful teams.could be close though, but surely go with Bewley at reserve and someone else for Davies in that first option. R worrall is very poor value on that average, better to go with Hougaard in that 2nd side. or better still, zagar and downgrade Williamson to lee Payne.
-
I wouldn't apply a heat cut off, but would agree with the rest.
-
Tbf Klindt would effectively be the third heat leader. not much value in the averages of kurtz/nielsen though. be better off upgrading one of those to morris (who would be first name on my list) and dropping the other for a 2 pointer.

British Based Polish League Team?
waiheke1 replied to Knightime's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think you couldn't load the team with stars, you would load it with brits (perhaps the odd aussie) pay El rates, and use it to develop talent. So lambert harris king cook s worrall Ellis garritty as a line up for example. What could be the benefit for the poles though in allowing it? -
This ignores the fact that teams are builfing to 50 buy will average 42. Multiply x .85 to get what a rider needs to score to "maintsin" their average. So for c holder, he would need to average 10.4 . Which he will comfortably do. In fact, if you assume you need your number one to average 2 in the nominated heat, he need average around 10 to be worth his average. So if that quote is ford, he is either telling porkies, or not as astute as his followers make out. Which could it be..? Would add that I'm not saying ford should have signed holder, can certainly see logic in a side like Gater1 has outlined above, though would swap starke/perks for batch/2pter. Would happily see holder at belle vue.
-
It would be ridiculous 8f they keep the 50 point limit based on actual averages, and Chris Louis has alluded some conversion will be used - which is unnneccesary, they should just drop the limit to 42/43 points.
-
I would say an El rider should come in on 1.2. to reflect that averages will bl have dropped overall by 15%. There would be an argument that pl averages should be converted at 0.85. But I don't have faith in the powers that be having reached the same conclusion...

Am sure Ellis will get a team place elsewhere. but can understand ford not picking him for 17 as holder kurtz batch Newman all seem to offer slightly better value for those middle order positions. Don't see why they should be criticised for that might change my mind if they replaced him with gomolski though. Just hope Milik isn't allowed in on an artificially low average from 14/15. This. take their official average and multiply by 0.85. Then a assess whether u think it looks like value in this weakened league. And for number ones, also take into account they will get 5 rides not 4. Doyle would still be part of my swindon plans for sure, as would morris
-
And....?Doesn't ride ekstraliga which I believe is the only league affected by the restrictions but I guess three leagues may be enough, otherwise too many fixture clashes,
-
Would add that nicholls also looks good value. Not sure that bridge is though.
-
Ellis average isn't too high. why do people keep saying it is? Ellis on a 7.8 or howarth on a 7.1 or r worrall on an 8.3. I know who I would take. Bomber is clearly one of the best value riders, that's because his El average is artificially low due to the heat format. if I was putting together a chsmpionship side, he'd be behind only lambert as my choice of number one.
-
Surely with that Poole line up u go Ellis not gomolski. Or more likely upgrade that position to a 2nd heat leader such as harris and use a 2 pointer. For that wolves team, surely Thorssel rather than musielak and again downgrade number 7. weaker reserve only needs 3 rides, so I can see moat teams going this route. additionally, if moat teams have a weak 7 they can at least take points off each other. Most In-demand Riders For The 2017 Season
waiheke1 replied to poolebolton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Nothing to do with ford. many non poole posters queried the 9+ average and srated it was in correct. SCB is hardly a poole fan, bit he knows his facts and is capable of being very objective, and he has consistently stated kurtz should be on the 7.6 figure. -
No. But logically it should be 43 for both formats, with riders based in green sheets for respective leagues. The "one average" concept imo should apply only to 2018 team building.
-
Not sure how people can argue here. official greensheets are always based on rolling averages. Brady rode for Plymouth last season. Number of meetings is irrelevant once they decided to base everything on pl.As it is, based on last years El performances Klindt is the stand out bargain. b kurtz is still only mid range for value, in fact not dissimilar to Ellis.
