Aren't air fences a five figure sum? And over a season how much would u need to replace out of interest?
-
I had misunderstood. In that case, that again seems a remarkably sensible decision!
-
How much do u need for a track?
-
Or kerr with s lambert?
-
Holder or kk plus an extra 1.5 to use elsewhere? From a team building perspective it has to be the latter. Only if you valued loyalty over the strongest possible team would you have gone holder imo.
-
And that imo does not make sense. They are going to have to guess a conversion between the two new leagues. Actually, once teams are named a reasonable conversion could be approximated. But definitely opens things up to manipulation of averages.I don't understand the logic in doing this.
-
Makes a lit of sense. Now they just need to confirm a re declaration limit of 42 or 43 points and issue a transparent rule on treatment of averages for new riders after that point. So far the BSPa seem to have done a reasonable job with the rules for 2017.

More than occasionally heart in mouth I'd say! Not sure I've seen a more exciting young rider than Andy, couldn't gate but would certainly give it a good go blasting round the outside at Hyde rd. Still remember him as a 17 year old passing Mike lee on the last lap, in a season where lee was in superb form. Sounds like Jack would be similarly exciting to watch at the NSS.
-
Haven't seen jack smith race. Is he anything like his old man was as a 17 year old?
-
Oh FFS, next I suppose you'll be telling me that the EDR scheme wasn't solely about developing young British talent...
-
Buzz is an excellent value signing. Any side looking for a 3rd hl (or going top heavy with 4 hl) he would be a very good option.
-
Doyle morris Ellis are all good signings imo. Not convinced on bellego on that average. Reckon you need to go for a 3rd hl, and then best you can pick up on 2/3 point averages at reserve. Other than Klindt -who will surely be at wolves/poole, just can't see value in going with a couple of 5 pointers. But I font understand the doom and gloom, I'd be more than happy with 3 of those signings.
-
If Poole sign the expected riders, then they are undoubtedly favourites imo. Yes, arguably weak at 3rd hl, but more than made up in strength 1-6 - will likely at all times have the best reserve in the league, to back arguably the strongest top 2 pairing. Poole won't be alone on not having a genuine 3rd hl (Klindt may actually emerge to be their 3rd hl), currently you'd say it looks like only rye and wolves will definitely have 3 solid hl. Garritty, s worrall and Ellis could all end up at least starting the season as 3rd hl.

2017 Grand Prix Venues
waiheke1 replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Last time Phil mentioned it the figure he used was three... -
Great stuff scb. Highlights what a bargain Klindt is, when he is available on essentially his El heat 15 average, when other riders are coming in on their pl average or El x 1.4.
-
Why would they take on existing debt?
-
An oft repeated myth, no idea where it comes from, but has never been accurate. 4.92 is still OK for a 2nd hl, less than you'd want for a number 1 though. If king averages around 9 this season he's done well I reckon, so just over 11 a meeting. 9.5 from his scheduled rides and 1.5 from heat 15? Probably achievable.
-
I don't think Phil does. He's happy for him to be at Swindon though!
-
Surely they will have lost the bind and it should have gone towards paying any outstanding debts to riders?
-
Swap Williamson for a 2 pointer and it fits.

Youngsters Ready For Premiership?
waiheke1 replied to SomersetBlue's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Disagree. Teams don't need to use 2 pointers. But a lot will, which means at least they will be competitive against each other, and likely the former edr as well. The league is unlikely to be won or lost on who has the best 2 pointer, though like any other position, how they score compared to their opposite number will have a bearing on the outcome. -
Pretty even everywhere, except that Klindt is probably worth 4/5 a meeting more than his swindon counterpart. That Poole side would be favourites for the title I reckon, that swindon team competitive if they sign morris and batch
-
Disagree. With your likely top 3 you can carry a 2nd string who isn't great at home - doubt you will get beaten at Monmore. Therefore a rider who is good value away becomes a good signing, and the poor home scores will mean he could also be on an attractive average for you in 2018. That said, I'd still target joonas and Klindt as your 2nd strings.
