You're just making yourself look stupid now.You said they performed worse in a meeting they scored more points in than the meeting they scored less points in. You said they were awful when their scores show otherwise. Someone says a track closing is tragic, and you take that as being that they think it is a good thing? BWitcher is right, you uses to post sensibly, now utter drivel.

Poole for sure have the strongest 4-6. Matter of opinion but my view is kl are at least as strong in that area as rye wolves or (likely) aces. I'd say huckenbeck is stronger Bramford or clegg. Porsing I'd expect to score similar to watt and more than either of the wolves 2nd strings. And rose close to robson/howarth.
-
Personally I would say Porsing rose huckenbeck is at least comparable to watt Robson Bramford or sronicki howarth clegg or r worrall berge Bewley in terms of middle order strength?
-
That would be the ideal team imo. Noone would get near them at home, would struggle away but that top four would still see them pick up points. Play off contenders for sure.

Chance of the laguta brothers picking up wildcard spots for this one? Could be their best chance of making the gp series? -

In fairness he did beat Paul thorp, Kenny mckinna and Carl blackbird (twice), as well as gordon whittakers and Glenn hornby (twice). Beaten only by Chris morton, helping wolves to what I believe was the only away team victory at belle vue that season (87). Worth noting that the wolves match was the first meeting in a double header, with thorp going on to beat Hans Nielsen in the 2nd meeting. -

Not quite a maximum, but I believe lars munkedal dropped only a point from four rides in his only visit to Hyde rd. -

And that's saying something coming from a Swindon fan from that era! -

Not disputing there were issues which caused the team to be effectively 3 hl short, but that 83 eastborne side WAS awful. Though Paul woods did have by far his best ever season. -
Not sure you'll get any 5 point riders scoring home and away though, otherwise they'd be 7 point riders 😉

Have a programme from 1984 (the meeting belle vue hammered them 64-14) and it lists 30(!) imports they had used over the previous 5 seasons!Obviously Moran Preston Schwartz were top riders, but most were utter dross. Certainly the 1983 Eastborne side must rank as one of the weakest ever top flight sides. Wheras in 82 with a top 4 of moran kennett Preston woods they actually had a very decent team. -

Speedway Grand Prix 2017 Line Up
waiheke1 replied to Dandelion's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
In terms of favourites, I would have loved lambert or fricke to have qualified, but at this stage neither would add to the series compared to those in it. Another year or two and both could be competitive at gp level. -

Greg laguta would be the rider I'd add. If not, then kk. -
I'm confused now after your post on the Leicester thread. So when did gardening start? And if your answer is the 1980s, why does it need to stop now rather than say 20 years ago?
-
Turned what round? So you didn't say there was far less gardening in the past?
-
You said gardening didn't happen in years gone by. I got a bunch of 1980s belle vue dvds for Xmas, and in one of those the commentator is moaning about the amount of gardening in "modern" speedway. You got blasted because you were wrong and wouldn't admit it, totally out of character as that may be.

Assuming coventry run, I think they are quite capable of beating rye house into 4th, so I don't think the top 4 is that clear cut. I'd be amazed though if any of kl poole and wolves did not make the play offs.
-
I'd swap poole and kings lynn around, otherwise I'd say that's on the money.

I thought it was confirmed that 42 would be the points limit for re declarations.Puzzled as to why you think pl average based riders will maintain their average better than El riders. Once the first averages are out, I would assume new riders (with existing El average) would need to come in on something like a 1.25 conversion. For kl I expect first set of averages to be something like holder 10.5 lambert 8.5 batch 8 Porsing 6 rose 4.5 huckenbeck 5.5 bailey 1.5

Tbh, given the average rider will drop by 15%, you need your number 7 to average 1.7 to be doing their job. They will likely have only 3 rides, so if they can score 1.5 pwr meeting at home and 1 away then they are effectively riding "to their average." I'd say that's achievable for someone like bailey, given that most other teams will have a weak number 7.
