  1. Noone has denied gardening happens, you were "jumped on" because you claimed it didn't happen in the past, which is patently false. And if you've taken this post as a serious suggestion, that's setting new standards, even for you.
  2. How do you get the streamers nicked though? Especially if they are based overseas? If it was simple to shut down, I'd say you wouldn't be able to view pirated streams of sports, movies etc. I'd take their continued existence of evidence it is nearly impossible to stop, not that the copyright owners font care about piracy.
  3. I think that is covered in detail in the OP of you care to read it. That's the post two up from yours.
  4. Could argue that the streamers steal it and the viewers are receiverd of the stolen property perhaps.
  5. Do u really think they won't allow genuine buyers to test drive? Are you calling Shovlar a liar? I can tell you for a fact that dealers will. Bit obviously if you look like a chav or a bloke who sells papers for minimum wage they won't.
  6. They don't allow YOU to sit in one. Plenty of folk they do allow, and also to test drive. I suspect they have to think you are genuinely interested and able to buy it before letting you do so. Either way I suspect you have spectacularly missed scbs point. And of course the price may be lower if more people paid rather than stealing the content. Just like insurance premiums could be lower without fraudulent claims. ..
  7. I expect there would be two issues:1. I imagine that if the home club takes only half the revenue, they've I'll lose money hosting the fixture 2. I imagine this would mean bees riders riding for the "standard" rate that the home team need to pay. Would the likes of king and Bjerre actually ride for this?
  8. terrible idea imo. Makes gating even more important.
  9. Id say there have to be 20000 apologies coming your way gemin, I think you may need to allocate the rest of the month!
  10. I'd say there are two categories bere: Items that you cannot easily pay to view within your country of residence (e.g. polish speedway) I see no issue. But for British speedway, GPs, movies etc. I struggle to see any argument as to how this is not theft. Of course sky and BT are money making entities. All businesses are. But it's like saying bp are a money making entity who charge too much so I won't pay for my petrol if I can get away with it. I'm not passing judgement here on uses of boxes, nor denying that I have ever viewed things which have not been paid for, but I'm honest enough to know that doing do IS theft in many instances. But why the compulsive need to link a totally unrelated item (use of illegal streams) back to Poole speedway? That's why you can irritate people, because almost every topic you manage to turn into a dig at poole.
  11. It's theft from whoever paid for the rights to screen whatever it is you are watching. Which in turn means it's ultimately theft from the sports body, movie studio etc. It's not taking a moral high ground - i havent passed any judgement here - to call it theft, it's staying a fact. No different to watching a pirated dvd, illegally downloading music etc. Long term the question is who funds movies for example, if noone pays to watch them? Already in the music industry we see artists making moat of their money ftom touring, because music sales have dramatically decreased - and not because less people are listening to music.
  12. Id say it's because many people aren't ok with committing theft...
  13. You've been asked outright if you would return to speedway if they got rid of double points and returned to the old tac subs and answered that you would. I'm not going to dig through to find it but can assure you you did.I agree that you have consistently stated that you would prefer neither to be in place. Perhas the fact that all those other sports use play offs indicate commercial realities, which would also indicate that it is what fans want. I agree that mass appeal does not neccesarily correlate to "fairness."
  14. Fwiw I agree that a league system is a fairer way to determine the champs. Just not commercially viable. Funny though that advocates of the league structure to determine champs are generally those opposed to the GPs as a method of determining the world champ.
  15. I've watched a plethora of meetings ftom the 70s on YouTube, and for the most part the racing isn't as good as what I've seen in the GPs and ftom the NSS in 2016. Obviously some cracking races, but a lot of from the gate stuff as well. The point of the analogy was that if you don't evolve, rival products will take your customer base. These may be cheaper and have more entertainment value. I'd say this is exactly what has happenned to speedway.
  16. No problem. Obviously the theory about monkeys, typewriters and Shakespeare is true... Says the man who would return to speedway if they replaced the double points ride with the patently more unfair tactical sub rules of old? a minute ago you were clarifying, now you are reiterating? As orion says, football doesn't need play offs as clubs have something to play for - 2nd to 4th champs league, 5th 6th Europe league, avoiding bottom 3 relegation spots, plus every place gained in the league is worth something like a million quid. Almost every other major sport uses playoffs - rugby, league, most cricket comps, nba, nfl, nhl etc. And of course football in many non European countries.
  17. He also said "seems to go with the territory" which further indicates he wasnt linking this purely to one person.Another example of a reasonable point being made being tarnished by the obsessive need to have a dig at poole. An old man, turned 98...
  18. I remember him securing for Cradley the 84 Premiership with a double digit score at Hyde rd, in a season in which 50 and even 60 point home scores were routine.Next time round I believe he scored 2 from his 3 rides.
  19. And agsin..the issue isn't that too much has changed, it's that not enough has. What brought in an audience 40 years ago is not what will guarantee an audience now. There are far more alternatives and tastes have changed.I mean, in what way would glass bottles bouncing down stairs, or louder engines, or rubbish sound system or"real hot dogs" (not sure the fare served at 70s ws tgat top notch tbh) atvthe speedway bring the crowds back. The sport needs pUlling into the 21st century not dragging back to the 50s. I would add that the racing imo is aa good as ever. I've watched a number of 80s meetings from Hyde rd on dvd recently, and have to say the racing is certsinly not better than the 2016 El I saw, and inferior to the 2016 GPs. It's a bit like saying far more people bought nokia 10 years ago, so they should start making non smart phones again. Or IBM should start making dos computers with 256kb of memory.
  20. Tbf, on this occasion starman makes a valid point.Simply doing what worked 40-50 years ago is not the basis for a successful business model.
  21. Tbf to steve, if you can't easily pay to view legitimately to watch a legal stream I don't care the issue watching a pirated stream. For those of us in nz it's often the only way to watch speedway. Watching premier league football on illegal steams however... That analogy doesn't work, as you'd be stealing someone's money.Who is the victim if u watch a stream that there is no pay option to view? Because otherwise it's theft?
  22. Agree with this, but would add that recently 9/10 of his posts seem to be arguing with idiots/trolls. Let things go Steve!
  23. It would be fair to say they scored poorly in the away leg of the final (against Poole they both scored solidly). But when you look at who they dropped points too, the only point that you wouldn't expect was when Thorssel was beaten by Jacobs. Otherwise they were beaten away by the best heat leader trio in the league, as well as finishing behind fred and Tai.
