No a sign that next years line up is really good.Kk and g Laguta could possibly improve the series. -

Poole justifiably favourites. Belle Vue look best value with rye looking a decent e/w bet. -
I doubt they would have an issue getting a visa for Poland regardless.

Agree with all of that scb. Sedgeman isn't an amazing signing, but as riders in that point range go he is solid. Certainly the best "5th" rider in the league, and can't think of any riders on lower averages likely to score much better. Being picky you could say there is no out and out number 1 and reserves may struggle away. But very very happy with the team.

Holder could surely still live in the uk if he had a job in Poland? Would I'm sure have no issues getting a working visa for Poland. And be able to reside in U.K. so long as he didn't work?

I have kids aged 6 and 8, and if there was a speedway track near me I would happily pay 4 quid each for them - very reasonable imo. Go to the zoo, or a kids concert, and you pay a lot more than that for them. Agree with those who suggest targetting unis, especially those where the bar profits go to the club. Charge a fiver entry,or ten quid and first pint free to get them into the bar.

Pairs Somerset
waiheke1 replied to correy's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Stars favourites, from swindon/poole. Aces and wolves also capable of coming close. And Somerset well capable of making top 3. Leicester stone cold last imo. Assuming these are the final line ups, and Aces have 2 from cook/fricke/bjerre then I'll go. KL Poole Swindon Somerset Wolves Aces Leicester -
Disagree. Given that only 3 teams have gp riders, surely it is easy enough to schedule fixtures without a clash.
-
Why would they announce it if they don't intend it to happen? What would stop it from happening?
-
Carter/Morton in 1982. Saw the legs at the shay and Hyde Rd but not the tie breaker at a neutral track.
-
So who would have sponsored it then in the absence of a management set up?
-
If they can score 3 and 1 away and 4 and 2 at home they've done their job. Both are capable of doing that imo.
-
Poole still strongest imo. Followed closely by aces and King Lynn. Wolves or rye house to make up the top four.
-
Yep, chsnces of that being successful are pretty high. I assume you think riders can sue their clubs if the club terminate their contract?
-
I think scbs point is pretty clear, unless you are so pedantic you can't swap "not" for the first "sure."

I can. It's about Starman and it's not very complimentary... Good job you only thought it, you could have copped a ban for posting that! Jacobs went very well on his own track true. But he was awful away. There is zero doubt that Sedgeman strengthens Aces away from home. Despite the easier heat format Jacobs averaged around 2 away. I guess you could argue his away returns were more consistent than Sedgemans, but not in a good way!I would have been happy enough with King/Jacobs, but Bjerknes/Sedgeman is undeniably stronger imo Jacobs went very well on his own track true. You seem to be totally missing the point. At the start of the season Howe is 40% higher than a couple of months later. But the team building limit comes down by only 15%.Allowing a like for like swap using old averages defeats the whole purpose of having used the 1.4 multiplier at the start of the season. You could theoretically have a team of 7 redeclared in May that would have been 58.8 for team building a month earlier.
-
Why would it be hard in the Premiership? If you take away the 1.4 multiplier, teams have built to a 35ish team limit, so 42 is effectively an increase of 7 points.Of course, across all sides the average will end up resting around 42, but plenty could be around 38/39 atvthe fit's averages. Further, could say joonas be brought in as a like for like replacement for someone averaging 7,even if the team average is above 42? Would be patently ridiculous if that was the case - a rider with an average attained in a tougher league in a much tougher format being able to be swapped in. Are you staying facts here TNT or your assumptions?
-
Is anyone actually buying at that price though? Would be interesting to know how it is selling as an e book, and whether tony sees sufficient demand for another print run. Best speedway book I've read.
-
Think that team may be too weak away to win the league. Would certainly be happy with it though. Sedge/bjerre is undoubtedly stronger than king/Jacobs. And kerr would be stronger than Jacobs.

I agree, though lee I'd argue was perhaps a generation (or half a generation) after Collins? Collins peaked in 76/77 which was the same time Lee was starting to break through. Only 4 years between them I guess, though lee was closer in age to penhall/gundersen/nielsen who I guess we're the 80s stars vs pc 70s. Lee maybe the only rider to be truly world class across late 70s and early 80s, though pc/olsen/crump could maybe argue differently.
