And would also allow like for like slots where riders who had artificially low averages from riding as a hl last year could come in to replace riders who have high averages from riding in the EL yhis year. For example woffy in for howarth? Lindback for Klindt?
-
No it wouldn't. It means that the point limit effectively increases by 15% at tgat point. For example if wolves had started with a different 7, they could then redeclare with their current 7 but with someone like KK instead of clegg.
-
Actually I think you will find Bjerre has the highest average of GP standard riders..
-
Holder and kk are clearly under performing. I would say both Doyle and to a lesser extent freddie are scoring less than expected.I would gave though fred would average 10 this season. Bjerre is performing at or above expectation.
-
On what basis do you say it is clearly confirmed? It's not like riders or managers have misunderstood rules before. If this is true though, it's the biggest f%%k up the BSPa have managed fir many seasons, which is saying something!
-
Statistically the strongest team you could have put together based on performancea so far: Kennett morris batch bjerre bellego bates perks. And the weakest (while getting close to 50 pt limit): king tungate gomolski watt Ellis Graversen clegg currently averaging under 20 between them.
-
but where has Howe got this information? given there seems to be nothing in the rulebook which confirms this.
-
Well you can't really have a go at any other team for average dropping when wolves are averaging less than any of the teams with GP calibre riders. Scornicki and Clegg have both dropped a bigger percentage of their starting average than Doyle or kk.
-
well poole are currently over 45 points so that blows that theory out of the water. 4 out of 7 of Swindon's team have improved their averages (more than any other team). 3 out of 7 of KL team have matched or improved their starting averages. wheras only one Wolves rider has matches his starting average, so suspect you are just trying to deflect attention from Wolves average manipulations Steve! depends who you consider a "top line" rider. IF you mean only recent GP riders, then yes maybe only Freddie as Holder and KK and to a lesser extent Doyle have disapointed. Even Freddie has dropped over 10% off his starting average. But Andersen and Bjerre have impressed, as have other HL such as Morris, Kurtz, Batch, Cook etc.
-
checked the rule book. 2 is the minimum for a rider elegible to ride in the NL, otherwise 4 is the minimum MA.
-
but you wont be able to strengthen at reserve when the new averages come out, unless you deliberately score low in a few meetings. that said, schlein for sronicki is a decent swap, and i agree should mail you down for a play off spot.

Team And Riders, Points Changeover ?
waiheke1 replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
and the issues have been apparent before each of the last 4 seasons, and every season people on here have been able to come up pre-season with solutions to make things work, but the BSPA clearly are not competent enough to do so. and this year seems to be the worst of the lot... -
Team And Riders, Points Changeover ?

But fewer matches is surely insufficient to give a true representation of a riders ability, and could lead to some major strengthening by some sides? -
Good point and something that should be made clear in the rule book. I'd say a 2 point minimum makes sense. No one knows. If Howe is a 4.8 and not say a 5.76 it will be a farce.
-
Because the 37.59 you quote include Adam on the 3 he is averaging this season. If you replace him with a 7 point rider before the new CMAs come out that will take you to around the 42 point mark and you won't have anything available to strengthen to your reserves with. Basically I'd say it comes down to whether you think something like proctor/greaves is stronger than sronicki/Howe.

Team And Riders, Points Changeover ?
waiheke1 replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Surely it is more fair for teams to be able to recalculate based on number of meetings ridden rather than a fixed date. Of course if fixture planning was done well the two should be basically simultaneous. -
In that case you don't replace him. You won't get a better rider on a 3 point average. But you will have points to upgrade greaves/clegg.
-
No way will that team fit when the new averages come out. You had two options: straight swap someone for sronicki now and likely have nothing spare when new averages come out. Or wait til new averages and be able to replace greaves with a 5-5. point rider (based on current 2017 wolves averages so far).Like BWitcher I think the 2nd option would have strengthened you more.
-
I think that is way down the list of errors, in fact I don't see that as an issue at all. Teams built to 50 knowing tgat on average they would drop 8.5 points when the averages came out. Riders like Doyle will drop a smaller percentage than many other riders.
-
they "can" have their average re-assessed? so they could choose not to, and therefore be able do a like for like swap on their "old" average? if the rest of the team have new averages, what multiplier would a "like for like" rider replacing a rider without a new CMA come in on. 1, 1.2 or 1.4? i can see a lot of teams getting to the 4/3 or 3/4 matches completed mark, and then working out if the best way to make changes is like or like on old averages, or wait for new averages then make changes to build up to 42. for example, for wolves if Sronicki keeps averaging 3, he may be worth keeping as you wont get a better 3 pointer, and therefore rather than "like fr like" swapping him out, they can move him to reserve and upgrade Greaves. the whole thing has been horribly thought out and communicated...
-
Why wait? We already know the average across the teams will sit somewhere between 41 and 42. That's why it is so ludicrous that the rules weren't already set in place as to what multiplier "new" riders would come in on, but 1.2 or 1.25 are the only sensible figures.

King's Lynn V Belle Vue - 19 April 2017
waiheke1 replied to Mimmo's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Lynn by around 6 I reckon. I think the stars top 3 will put score the Aces by around 3 and por sing to out score Worrall -
No it doesn't. Using tgat logic you could redeclare with a side that would have come to 58.8 at the start of the season ie 8 points over the limit

What are the wolves riders averaging so far this season? Anywhere these can be viewed online, as scbs excellent site doesn't seem to be updated yet.
