  1. Ronnie Moore closely followed by Briggo, Craven and Tom Farndon.
  2. Who has Rohan signed for on a 5 point average? Old averages apply until new green sheets are released.
  3. Don't know how you can have williams ahead of woffy. Woffy was best rider in the world the 2 years he won the world title (ok maybe some argument hampel was the best rider the year of title 1), I don't think the same can be said of Williams. I'll go: Woffy craven Collins lee Williams Price Loram Havelock And I disagree with Rob. The year Havvy was world champ he was clearly one of the top 3 or 4 riders in the world. You could not say the same of Muller or Sckaziel.
  4. Reserve only gets one easy heat now. Given most riders have dropped vs their starting average, adding a point makes Klindt one of the top performers vs starting average. Tbh I think Klindt is scoring as expected, I'd have assumed about 7 from reserve, which after 4h is about what he should be.
  5. Woffy imo has to be ahead of lee. I could see an argument for him being anywhere from 1-3. I agree with the order you have the others sid. Loram someway short of the others imo.
  6. Even Starman has had the sense to figure this out and give this advice. But Steve seems incapable of following it. Getting to the stage where Steve is going to need sticking on ignore like flange.
  7. Because as reserve he can still have five rides. And used where the manager sees fit. And it means we could have King/Worrall in the team rather than bewley/bates.
  8. Poland obviously massive favourites. But a real shame that tai isn't representing the Brits as with him there is not a lot between Aussie Denmark Sweden gb and Russia, though I'd have Aussie a shade ahead of the rest. As it stands GB have no chance of making the final. Cook and lambert must be nailed on but then who? Harris I'd include but no idea about the next two. The worralls?
  9. I think the issue is the cut back is not working. Riders know to hold tight on the inside, woffy gets blocked and often then in a bad position allowing others to go round the outside of him. That said, what cost him was the tape exclusion off red and in his easiest heat - a won there would have got him the inside grid for the semi so I would say that exclusion cost him around 7 points. Have to say for the first time this season he isn't my pick now for champion, Doyle certainly looked like one last night. You must have missed a lot of the heats, I thought it was a cracking gp. Certainly one of pragues best.
  10. Amazingly the Birmingham side of 82featured 7 riders who rode in world finals plus andy Grahame who was a reserve. Almost certain though that all 7 did not all ride together in any meeting. Nielsen Jorgensen evitts thorp kudrna maier and dryml plus grahame The 83 side had 6 plus Grahame, with ondrasik the addition and kudrna and dryml no longer there.
  11. Incredibly generous odds as surely any speedway fan would make him favourite?
  12. Yrs but that's my point. He gets flak for being honest, not trying to hide it. And was honest with the press afterwards.
  13. Surely a 7 x 1.4 so 9.8?Absolute minimum would be a 6 x 1.4 so 8.4 But the latter would be ludicrous
  14. Are u sure that team fits under 42 points? No way prez will be a 7 under the 50 point rule Are u sure that team fits under 42 points? No way prez will be a 7 under the 50 point rule
  15. Seems to be the case given the amount of flak Penhall got for being honest about doing countrymen a favour compared to the many other riders who have done so.
  16. Yes. Great city, not so great track. Though last year's was actually pretty good. And you'll be pleased to know woffy won it 2 or 3 years in a row before last season
  17. Sid I agree the rules around when new averages are released are an utter shambles. That said the actual calculation of them is very straight forward, and the OPs misunderstanding is nothing to do with rules but a fundamental failure to grasp the mathematical significance of them. TWK- id say if anything the averages are part of speedways appeal, certainly to the "sports stat geek." I don't think the odd unusual rule is a significant issue either, I'd suggest things like poor marketing, poor presentation, poor fixture planning, poor facilities, dilution of league strength and inconsistent application of rules are far far bigger issues.
  18. Maybe early season before ravn moved from bell vue? I know andy reid started at reserve but maybe cross rode some meetings between Reid and ravn?
  19. Yep a typical example of speedway fan totally mis understanding how averages work.
  20. Prett sure if gp riders finish top 3 here and finish top 8 in gps then their places got to the next highest placed from the challange Petsonalli id rather see fricke cook g Lagutas perm pawlicky than killer Bjerre MJJ or Harris.
  21. Wonder if they ever considered sponsoring a rider, and if they did whether the rider's name would appear in the programme or "dickbarrie womans wear"?
  22. Hoping for a top 3 of zagar cook and fricke, failing that g laguta. Dudek and pawlicki should make top 8 anyway.
  23. So you are saying that of a meeting is abandoned after 6 heats with the score 30-6 it will be declared no result? Surely the team leading can quote the two previous cases as precedent?
  24. It won't level out as only maybe one meeting every couple of seasons will fall into this category. But what this precedent sets is that a meeting can now be declared after 6 heats, using the logic that a lead can be opened up that cannot be caught within the remaining 4 heats to the end of heat 10. 40% of a meeting doesn't seem like an appropriate point to declare a meeting to me. 25. Ah ok. It was just that the post directly before yours mentioned that batch was guesting for zengi Tbh it's not known how they will treat riders who have ridden a handful of meetings. If they keep the old average then it creates issues for teams making changes to 42, though opens up a myriad of guest opportunities (eg Doyle could guest for zengy). But of course if they change averages, could mean someone like zengy drops to a 5 point average based on a couple of poor meetings. Bspa have really made a mess of this!
