Yes. My question then should have read when does Kk get an average of 6.5 per his current year displays. But probably I should just look up myself how many meetings ridden and when he will hit 4/4

Agreed. As comparison Im pretty sure that nz drew more every year, and nz is hardly a hotbed of speedway talent... -

6 rides as I believe can be used for a tac sub ride Yes to all three -
If Doyle is not fit, it is unlikely but not impossible that we could beat aussie. The real issue us that if lambert were at reserve we could take a gamble on his fitness, now I'm not so sure we can. Though should at least be capable of 2nd with Ellis taking up to 4 rides so maybe still is worth the risk.

to rephrase, an average based purely on 2017 not the random hybrid average currently allocated to him

Or use rr. Andersen, holder and starkex2 may do as good a job as any replacement. How many meetings til Kk gets a new average? Could Poole have any spare points then?

Except in case of tape exclusion, injury or one of the squad having an off night... plus I presume reserve can be used if needed for the double point ride so having one of your two best riders in a position where he can be put into any heat is clearly an advantage. -

Happy enough with Ellis as u21 rider in absence of lambert. But imo lambert should have been named as the u21 reserve. Not a criticism of Ellis or any of the other u21 riders, but at this stage none are at the level of King or Nicholls or arguably Richie Worrall who would have been the squad candidates had rosco named lambert at reserve. -

The only way Robert wouldn't get a ride at reserve would be if the 4 were cleaning up. It's just an awful call And this highlights the bad decision. Lambert could have been at reserve and one ride may have been enough to show if he was race fit or not. Can't take that risk now with Ellis at reserve, but could have with king in the team. -
It would Be because he was a 28 day replacement. Steve Brum is correct

I think you are missing the point here. The discussion is what should constitutes a British rider. Is it based on bring born here? Holding a british passport? British residency? Passport plus having never represented another country? Not really true that it is the bigger nation who benefits. Take rugby and rugby league. Often you will have players who have represented the all blacks turning out for pacific island nations later in their careers. That benefits the smaller nations. The financial benefitvofcplaying for nz compared to the smaller nations is immense, if you took away this option players would still not represent the island nations earlier in their career. Not true. Simply introduce a rule that say's an legibility requirement is not having represented any other nation internationally. Not true, as the comments below indicate. And to be clear - you therefore don't consider mark loram a British world champion but do consider Jason crump to be one?
-
I would expect it would simply be his last average. Was that 8.something?

I'm quite capable of reading thanks Gluestix. It's all very well the author writing that, but Bast hardly impressed in his international forays. And fact is he didn't prove himself at the highest level regardless of talent. Jelly man didn't do his talent justice but he achieved far more than bast.

Only 4 riders in the league are averaging 9, so to say lambert should be is a shade harsh. Realistically 8 would be a good achievement given he's riding a lot in heat 15. KLs issue has been form of holder and to a lesser extent porsing.

Cracking Gp. Kudos to Doyle, assuming they stay fit looks like he and dudek will battle it out for the title. Still want Tai or Emil to win, but looks unlikely, so would be happy enough to see Doyle win it, would be deserved after being the best rider last year but missing out. Racing in GPs has been superb the last few seasons, highlights what a great sport this is. -
Obvious omission from that list is Cordy Milnes. Struggle to see how schwartz gets ranked ahead of Sigalos. I'd leave out Bast and Schwarrz for milne and Siggy Top 5 Hancock Penhall Sprouts Elder J Milne Ermolenko
