Agree that the fundamental principle was a good one, and gas definitely helped bring through some good British youngsters.Averages were only an issue because of the utter incompetence of the BSPA in implementing it.

I think you are missing the point of this thread. It's very similar to the best riders from Lancashire thread. There's a good reason Declan ECCLES is included ahead of Peter Collins for example And can I just say wash your mouth out TWK. Ronnie may have been born is Tasmania but he's "from" NZ!

Heat 15 - what a race! You don't get better speedway than that. Shame the swedes seem to be running away with it. What are the rules on tax sub/jokers - could Russia use one in the last 4 heats or is cut off heat 16? -
Speedway World Cup 2017

Cracking meeting, well worth staying up til 2am to watch, though may have to watch the final heats before work. Not just great racing, but the four teams evenly matched so far.Would love to see the Russians take this, but have a feeling the swedes will sneak it by a couple of points from the Danes. And belated congrats to team GB for a superb display in the meeting at KL. Still think Roscoe got it wrong in not naming lambert at reserve - and his explanation as to why shows a tactical naivete that is frankly worrying -:but he has obviously engineered a superb team spirit so credit for that. Tai may not have been missed at KL but will for sure in the final - it'd the difference between potentially challenging Poland for the title and scrapping with the others for medals. -
Not sure why anyone would think jack would be included ahead of Kurtz or masters?
-
Personally on form this season is have had Kurtz ahead of fricke in the reserve spot. With fricke ahead of masters to replace Morris. ReMadsen I think he would be a solid number 1 in this league, he's had a couple of very good seasons in a row.

I think you are right. Haven't seen a single other person complain about the viewing at the NSS. Totally amazed anyonecwouldxrather watch at Kings Lynn -
Not sure why people are on Frickes case here. He is averaging more in the uk than on Poland, and comfortably more than in Sweden. Even adjusting for the varying degrees of strength of the leagues, his British performances match those on Sweden and would be within half a point of those in Poland. People are forgetting his uk average last year was inflated by riding at 2nd string for a large chunk of the season.

Do U have a gut feel (or stats) on how many are injury facilities and how many due to "other absences." The latter category I would assume could be army least 90% eliminated by better fixture planning

Yes, but you are a speedway fan. To get a "casual" to come along is suggest a full house is at least as important, by making it look like the place to be. Obviously the ideal is both!

New Averages For 42 Point Limit
waiheke1 replied to DunRobin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yeah but you forgot that heat 15 doesn't count towards averages.....Fwiw I would be OK with a 43-45 point limit if you removed the ability to make like for like changes during the season. I remember the days of 49 and 51 point limits (Inc bp) but of course the issue was that some teams built right to the limit, and others 10-15 points under it. -
Swindon Robins Vs Wolves (29-6-17)

1969 was when the "classic" BL format came in, so at latest it was 69 when 2 reserves started People have whinged and whinged on here about too many guests, yet when the bspa do something about it people still whinge... fwiw I would allow choice of facility for hl only and no facility 4-7 other than replaced by a number 8 or NL rider, but the bspa rule this season actually makes sense imo -

New Averages For 42 Point Limit
waiheke1 replied to DunRobin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Don't agree with this at all. Every team on average was going to drop by around 18%;on the starting average. The BSPA have made an utter Ness of averages over the last 4 seasons, but having riders on averages over 12 is not one of them. They could have reduced those averages by 16% and made the limit 42 and it would in effect have been no different. -
somewhat hypocritical don't you think? When I pointed out on the "best Americans in the BL" thread that TWK had named 3 out of 5 riders who had barely ridden BL and he suggested that was being pedantic you were happy to take that as am opportunity to have a dig at meyet here you are...

Can't be true because Starman said it was a bad idea to have the NSS in Manchester as it rains all the time, and as we all know Starman is never ever wrong. -
