Poole used the rule that was there legitimately - until of course hans ride again at which point they should have lost the facility. The facility to replace injured rider was removed to prevent any such abuse - it's just unlucky that we've had an injury. Though who are we thinking we would have got in who is better than rr? The rules which is more likely to cost aces the title and is the really stupid one is the rule that said at the start of the season a 1.4 multiplier was attached but once the point limit dropped to 42 NO multiplier attached. The only possible logical decision was a multiplier of 1.2 to apply. Fair play to Swindon for taking advantage but musielak should have had an average 20% higher which would have stopped them making the swap they did.

Greg Hancock Hurt?
waiheke1 replied to False dawn's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Bruce Penhall still gets plenty about his actions 35 years on.Worst thing for me was Hanvock walking out of the meeting when sprung and subsequent lies gabout the incident. -
OK. Whatcwould you say is the "spirit" of removing the ability to make an injury replacement after the deadline? And how does that differ from the actual rule. Fans moan about too many guests so BSPA responded by reducing the scenarios in which a guest can be used. And fans whinge. Fans whinge about the year end changes last year. BSPA prevent such changes. Fans whinge. Aces fan and it sucks Fricke is injured, but the rules are the same for all and should be adhered to so let's stop whinging and just get on with it. I'd say both are equal blows. Zach is less easily covered but that impacts only rides per meeting. The new rule doesn't really hinder swindon, as ability to get a permanent replacement would be as limiting as getting guests. For Fricke a permant replacement may have been better than rr.

Buster Chapman - Is He Good For The Sport?
waiheke1 replied to SCB's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
A range of ways, most of which have been proposed on here countless times. And none of which, surpising as it may be, is continually diluting the product. -
steve - can you confirm how you believe removing the rule which allowed injury replacements after the transfer deadline is in anyway related to Tai coming into replace Joonas at Wolves? As opposed to the post deadline injury replacement of Lindback for Hans?

Greg Hancock Hurt?
waiheke1 replied to False dawn's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
he's also correct that greg has been a bot of a tw@t over the last 18 months or so, the "highlight" probably being the tantrum after being exlcuded in the GP, a display which would have shamed a man 45 years younger. But it's irrelevant to Greg's status as a legend, he has to be regarded as comfortably within the top 20 riders to have graced the sport. -

Well Kennett was signed before "that night" at KL, so unless Buster and/or Ford are psychic, I would say that that is unlikely -
Buster Chapman - Is He Good For The Sport?

you're back!?!? Did you spend the last couple of years recovering from meeting up with Sidney In all seriousness, welcome back, I for one have missed your postings. Hopefully the NSS has been enough to tempt you back to live speedway as well. i dont think its even a fallacy, i don't think anyone belives it to be true. And as Oldace mentions you would need a 100% increase not a 50% increase. What it does show though is that speedway has the potential to significantly improve attendances, and that there is some element of price elasticity in terms of demand, at least on a short term basis. And people attending a 50% full stadium I would say are more likely to enjoy the experience and want to return than those attending a meeting with a 30% full stadium. -
yep, and there were many other "xxxracing" or "yyyFan." The obsession seemed to swing between Aussie and Scandinavian riders. Possibly there was a JasonBunyanracing at one point. Arya as well I think.
-
and therefore in absence of a top rider being available he was willing to settle for Holder and Batch instead? don't see how they would have fitted though - you'd have had to ditch Andersen and Kennett or something like that?
-
not true Steve. There are two rule changes this season: first one is the early deadline of 31st July for any changes. That one is brought in to prevent moves like the Wolves Tai for Joonas swap. However, the rule change which impacts Belle Vue is the removal of the provision for changes after the deadline in case of injury. That change is clearly brought in as a response to last year, when Poole replaced Hans with Lindback due to Hans's "season ending" injury, which proved to be a misnomer as he raced again overseas. well obviously you don't get it, as he explained what would happen in that situation but you've asked the same question If you had two injuries you run RR and a guest. If you have 3 injuries, you run RR and two guests etc.
-
though to confuse things, I believe BFM once went by KKS as a piss take of the original KKS account! KKS is JCF, FKA Batchfan/DakotaNorthracing/LiamGalagherfan/Avril Lavigne Fan etc.ect.etc.
-
So despite the rules clearly stating that a side must have 2 riders whovwere elehible to have ridden NL, the chairman of the BSPA tried to name one with only 1 plus an additional 1 as a squad member who would cover in case of injury? Seriously? That is even worse - not sure you can call it anything other than an attempt to cheat!?!

Wasn't it established that he only has one account, albeit a couple of name changes, when his real identity got posted on here?

2018 Grand Prix Venues
waiheke1 replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
If assume though that all those venues are considerably cheaper than a London venue, and most would be expecting far smaller crowds. And of course a rain off at other venues would screw the promoter not BSI -
2018 Grand Prix Venues
waiheke1 replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
No guarantee of a larger crowdMuch more expensive stadium hire Risk of postponement due to weather No government funding, unlike Wales. Can't think of any reason why BSI don't take the chance... -
So if he was genuinely injured, why has he been sacked? Or are we saying the doctors lied in saying he was unfit? Are they club doctors or independent?
-
"Eat rubbish"?!? Good to see Darcy hasn't become any more articulate 😅

Understand that those VISA would nor grant him access to the UK. But if he is not intending to work in the UK I didn't think an Aussie would need a VISA to enter? Yeah, I can't understand why people constantly say this. Even if it were true, how hard do they think it would be to get a VISA for those countries?

Capacity Of Uk Speedway Stadiums
waiheke1 replied to mickthemuppet's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Why the clown face? The NSS has more than enough capacity for any domestic speedway meeting. With temp seating enough to host the SWC.So the only thing it's not big enough to host is a GP, though if it did it would still have one of the highest GP attendances outside of Poland and Cardiff. But surely it would have been madness to build a 40k seater on the basis of possibly getting a GP and filling it for one meeting, but having a 95% empty stadium for regular meetings? So perhaps you can clarify who the clown is? -
Surely Holder would have permanent residence by now? Or worst case get a visa for Poland/Sweden and base himself there, and travel back to the uk on a regular basis to see his son? Anyway, the important question is will you be wearing your Holder shirt today?
-
But the question I was responding to wasn't why didn't all riders refuse to race. It was would holder have done the same in Poland. And the reason why not is money, and the fact is that the more money you are paid comparatively the more risk you are likely to be willing to take.
-
So by firing Batch, are KL admitting they cheated by using IRR for a rider who was not injured? Surely there should be some kind of punishment for that ?
